First of all its his son, secondly he won't punish any of his sons hardly until they will turn against him... so as long as its just a scandal or corruption, emperor will backup his sons... but if there would be any proof of plotting a rebel against him - I believe he would at least disown/imprison a prince... but knowing his character either poisonous wine or deadly accident...

The Beiqi princess was way more effective at undermining FX and Wan'er's relationship than the second prince.
She was genuinely trying to help - and somehow she did as FX and Wan'er cleared the atmosphere during the trip... also if I would be in Wan'er's shoes after meeting a Beiqi Princess I would be sure that nothing wrong happened as with princess personality she wouldn't even try to defend FX if he would be really guilty :) From the other point of view - she could ask openly FX about all these rumours - not thinking about strategy how to do it, or asking herself if there are true... and then what to do if he would confirm something really happened in Beiqi... - it was such a funny scene and well... now we know that prince who had been at the border for many years could take a mule for a warhorse 🐎as ofc he is a member of royal family so he was well protected there :D did rewatch the scene already twice... 🤣😂
