Its very complex drama in terms of plot, events, characters and their motivation... It has a humorous side too... We will see more action scenes in the future for sure...
From my point of view it is definitely a great drama, but I understand it might be not to everyone's taste... short stories are much easier to watch ;)

He is smart enough to do not do that - as so far he has a world to fix and he doesn't need all the troubles which will come out from news about him being another prince... Also it would mean to go against Emperors will who has hidden FX identity really well for such a long time...

Poisoned? That's good! No, ofc its not good... all Fan family dynamics are so well played and scenes very enjoyable to watch.
We could witness how well prepared FX was - making a special poison for his father, a one which tastes well but will make him looking horrible ;) and indeed it was so funny scene!

Firstly its such a good drama, secondly - yep, you need to know the first season to understand the characters and their actions

You know - no one is forcing you to watch it if you really do not like it. There are plenty of dramas to chose from in Chinese Drama Land :) For sure you can find something more up to your taste!

For me that was a good hint about his real character ... good person won't murder his own guards... to be sure that some information won't leak out for few days...

there is one but.... he won't live forever and if he considers himself as the good emperor he should go for best candidate for the sake of the country.

I was actually thinking CPP used some sort of blockade as he has few "magic" buttons build up into his wheel chair...

I didn't read a novel this time so I am not sure if emperor really knows how evil his sons are... Except FX they are good for nothing. Crown prince pretending to be an idiot but in reality being very cruel and scheming one, Second prince is a scheming psycho one of kind, still cruel but at least didn't massacre the whole village and so far is a man of his word. The oldest one just back from the border and didn't show up yet his true colours - but for sure he can kill at will if someone is standing on his way... You may say like a father like a son... but I think his sons are not on his level - he is still that intelligent and unpredictable emperor from first season. No one can really guess his real intentions. Not even CPP.

don't forget about squat guards execution... he has told FX he will lock them up for sometime and actually he said after he will give them an honourable death as they were serving few years under him.

I was suspecting this being a thing - as why otherwise he would be so freaking fast, able to see with a scarf covering his eyes :) having super hearing and all the powers... I will read a novel someday :)
