She knows how dangerous and evil the emperor is and without breaking she would be the biggest YX weakness and only would bring him more suffering and put her family and friends into danger. The only option would be to fake an accident on the sea and flea abroad - somewhere he won't be able to find about their existence but HZ can't do it as she is the head of family and has first to redeem men.

We had seen similar approach in the Amai joins military aka Fighting for Love... they twisted the original story too much - here they just added too many romance scenes, so everyone who had seen anime or is a novel fan will feel disappointed. I am taking Ning as she is... I believe her uncle keeps her growing so ignorant on purpose - he is the real master of scheming and evil person so it won't surprise me if he is not planning to pass a throne to her... btw. he is so old and still so greedy of power... its simply disgusting
