Same here... this series really insults the viewer's intelligence - The purpose of the plot with kidnapped faked Qi Yu and eunuch and Mu Bai as their guard was just to let Amai to see his face? So his weak character personality makes hard to believe that Amai could even fall for a guy like him - there was no proper romance build up as they started to love each other out of blue. When drama action has been moved to capitol and turned out into court/harem story even Amai stopped to make any progress as her screen time has been significantly reduced and she was more like a supporting character than FL.

GOT went down to the toilet as the last season was mainly screenwriters fanfiction ;) Same with FFL - first part of drama was based on events from the book - it didn't follow up any chronology, some plots were changed to another ones but there were good dynamics and interesting story. As soon as screenwriters decided to write events on their own they took a step on the frozen lake - and as you can expect walking on the thin ice doesn't end up well... Cracks started to appear and now the drama is simply sinking

He didn't die in the novel :) He had been wounded in one of the battles and send back to Beimo to recuperate. He also became a father as Xu Xier has fallen for him ;) and Amai was taking care of the girl and her son as well as little Liu Ming (son of the general Liu)
