WILD thought but with whatever has happened until now, I want A’Mai to adopt Yu (the CP’s son) and hone him…
thats good idea - they could make a peace treaty with a marriage and let couple to live and guard one of the border cities ;) but we all know that's unlikely to happen...
Seems like I need to read the novel then bc I can't stand seeing her with Shang Yi Zhi! If it is like you said…
Novel for me has an open ending - so she is retiring from army and leaving capitol, CYQ is wating for her out of the city gate but she is going to find brother Tang who might be still alive...
Someone else killed Cui Yan? Sorry, I'm on ep 24 and having a hard time to get back into this especially after…
First of all in the novel Cui Yan survived the war and he became a father of Xu Xier son ;) that just a stupid plot which allows CYQ to assassinate Yi Zhi and meet Amai in the capitol and as a consequence PM will be able to accuse her of collaboration with enemies, throw her into prison and then force ML to marry his daughter :) None of this never happen in the novel except the marriage ofc but Yi Zhi didn't have any objections to it as he knew Zerou since childhood

She didn't have romantic feelings for him in the novel... She was clear about it - she has loved two guys - a childhood sweetheart and fiance - Chen Qi and then as an adult she has fall for Chang Yu Qing
So after watching a drama about the ML rise to the throne now we're going to spend the last episodes watching…
in the novel she was amazing strategist - real daughter of her father - respected general and later marshal who build up her army step by step and achieved countless victories when there was very low chance to win a battle
I find it really strange why the script writers would deviate so much from the original novel, it doesn't make…
That's why I am puzzling myself - why oh why they couldn't follow up the story? Make minor changes when its necessary and give the justice to the book and characters... The novel shows Amai's growth from a foot soldier to the army marshal, her internal struggle as commander and a person as her decisions would decide about life and death countless soldiers and civilians. Novel itself is war heavy drama, but also has brighter side and I was enjoying humorous elements in the plots... Amai and CYQ encounters were always very intense and satisfying for the reader - they could kill each other few times - but they never did - they had feelings for each other - but both never betrayed their countries - and never underestimated each other commanding skills. You can see Amai's development as a person and commander - she couldn't kill Chen Qi after hearing his part of the story - he killed her father as he was hostile army general and he didn't regret that - and he would do it again... his family had been killed and village pacified during war by Han Huaicheng army... After 6 years of war when finally Beimo army capitulated Amai will refuse to send her troops over the border and to start another bloodshed - so she will defy imperial edict.
Drastic changes of the events and nature of main characters as well as addition of totally fictional plots for me just destroyed that adaptation - which became one more historical drama about power struggle and court politics with very childish ML who didn't show any signs of personal growth...
Volume 2, Chapter 2 volume 3, Chapter 4 volume 4, Chapter 1 volume 4, Chapter 4 the battle scene and her being captured by him volume 4, Chapter 6 - street fight volume 5, Chapter 3 volume 6, Chapter 2 volume 6, Chapter 5 - they will see each other on the battle ground from a distance volume 6, Chapter 8 - she refuses to became a consort and leaves the capitol, he waits for her outside the city wall
We only have 6 Episodes left till the end and I have no idea what kind of ending we can expect but for sure rest of drama will be even more messy than its now as screenwriters decided to complicate things as much as possible. I am sure that everyone who actually knows the novel will agree with me that this drama is not really based on the novel - screenwriters only picked up some ideas and bits of plot and characters names, as even their personalities and role in the story doesn't match. I was hoping for express to see the series ending but unfortunately we will have to wait till Monday.
I just want to know, whoever has read the book, can you please let me know if they end up together. From the previews,…
In the novel she will leave a capitol after retiring from the army and venture to find an old friend (there is a hint that Tang Shaoyi might be alive) and CYQ will wait for her out of the city gates, they will have short conversation and then he will be watching her to leave... He still has her father's dagger ;)
they don't always give an express option... maybe there will be something tomorrow or on Monday but on airing calendar there was no Express option indicated
Mu Bai was in the book PM soon, who was investigating Amai after she departed from Capitol (Lin Zerou knew Amai…
In the novel its hard to call him ML, they have much less interactions then in the drama and there was no romance at all... He was protective towards her and admired her as the military genius - and yes, Amai was very attractive woman so he had initially a crush on her wanted her to became his consort when war was over. But during 6 years of war they haven't seen each other for 4 years, when he was fighting for power and she against Beimo army. Marriage between him and Lin Zerou was planned much earlier by Princess and Prime Minister Lin who wanted to honour will of late emperor and let son of crown prince (Yi Zhi) to ascend the throne instead of his killed by Qi Jing father.
Even the original Chinese title doesn't really go with the drama, especially in the second part.
The drama was really good till we get to capitol part and thats a moment when whole story deviates completely from novel. Imagine Beimo army marshal withholding an attack of huge army which needs a lot of supplies everyday as he has some sentiments to his childhood sweetheart. So many plots and its conclusions are simply illogical and unreasonable
What kind of mother makes a plot to kill herself to traumatise her son just to became an emperor? Because he is benevolent? OK, but he was also non-decisive and easy to manipulate. In may opinion she didn't care about his happiness... he didn't want that throne in the first place and was clear about it... He could became a regent for Yu and step back when boy would be capable to rule on his own...
Great acting made court episodes watchable - despite stupid plots ;) even Prince Kang was great as stupid and cruel emperor son :)
