I have no idea how they are going to play it in the drama but in the novel: XZ was prepared for the worst outcome of his investigation and when that actually happen and he discovered true identity of Changyu parents he will know they can't be together due to blood feud she won't believe that her dad could be responsible for his father death but there was no proof found yet so they will break up with her promising that she will clean her family name and discover what really happened in the past.

it became overdone in the drama, there was no punishment in the novel, just harsh words as he was worried sick about her safety, but he also understood upon hearing explanation from Xie guards that she assessed the situation and didn't really act recklessly. When reading a book I did understand why he is still hiding his real identity. There were other factors to be taken into consideration and what he was doing was to protect her.
He has quite a temper in the novel - first of all he is super jealous and overprotective as he already saved her life last moment countless times. He keeps things to himself, he grown up without any parents love, raised by the uncle in very strict cold manner... so he has to learn how to show love and yes, he loves Changyu deeply... and will "go to hell" for her ;)

in the novel Qi Min is emperor's grandson not real son of prince Sui - so Baoer was actually a threat to him as someone could snatch a kid and try to place him on the throne and with Qi Min monster alike personality he wouldn't hesitate to kill a kid. We will see how it is going to get played in the drama as there was quite a lot changes in plots so far. Also novel has a lengthy content and you would need 2 seasons to film all of it, so screenwriters had to make some serious cuts.

In the novel falcons were able to track a person or an army based on visual signs (army banners for example) definitely not via smelling abilities ;) whole scene has been changed - actually when CHY had been running away from Yuan Qing and bandits she lost her shoe, run to the official road and met there a scholar who helped her and offered place in his carriage (that was actually LHA). After sometime they got attacked by bandits remnants and Changyu dragged scholar with her saving his life, both managed to get to the boat on the ferry cross, they were still chased by bandits - in the mean time XZ and his cavalry found a trait and started a chase - they caught bandits on the ferry cross but in that very moment FL was in the boat taken by the river current and fighting about her and scholar life... any way XZ saved her halfdead from the water - so that falcon searching was purely screenwriters idea - and apparently they didn't check falcon abilities. Scenes in the hut are more true to the novel .

Li Huai An and Wen Kan are actually two different characters in the novel - the first one will be discarded pawn of Li family who will end up exiled, the other one is loyal student of general He and he will treat FL as a younger sister. So I guess as screenwriters merged two characters into one we will probably see LHA supporting righteous side.
