I really like this one. a breath of fresh air out of the gloomy offerings out now. I hope it stays this light. ding yu xi really suits playing a younger brother. I like this more than the general character role he played. I just find esther so cute, somehow I never find her childish because she walks a line of cute and mature. but honestly lin yu and mu yao should just be together! mu yao jiejie, leave that man alone and be with the one you really like lol

Elder Yue and Yun Que with another tragic romance. Edward Guo you couldn’t let them be together peacefully in this life? 😭 Also what kind of black magic does Guo have to make elder yue look ethereal and different every time? I couldn’t recognize him at first, he looks even younger than in MJTY and BFTB! The whole MJTY cast was in episode 12, they might as well make season 2 since the director likes them so much

can FL get her powers quickly cause right now it's annoying seeing her nerfed and standing behind zhu yan for protection and making pointless lectures. where was the girl we saw in episode one fighting a deceptive beast demon? I've also noticed that they make some (2 or 3) of the ensemble stand around while the rest are in action. it's so awkward. I would love to see a scene with all of them engaged, avenger style. these demons looove to talk, they would rather argue down the heroes with their evil philosophies than fight lol

I feel like that part with the OST was just set up so that they could have a shot with the whole team lined up in the trailer

the visuals are amazing (as expected)! the scene at the demon hunting bureau with the advisers sitting was stunning. however the editing is driving me nuts. the initial episodes are meant to do the world building but the director treated them like we're watching season 2, like we already know these characters. like why was there a random shot of li lun in a cave and suddenly Zhao Yun is meeting a water ghost? and then how did li lun come out from what I suppose was prison? what happened when they escorted that advisor to the king out of the compound? I'm really not following the story. it's fine to show not tell but the pace is so fast, i don't know where we're headed and we don't have enough information. my journey to you at least gave us enough lore to go off on but this one is more confusing. the tone is also up and down. it seems to be a suspense dark fantasy with some comedic relief but the sound effects to force a comedic effects keeps interrupting what should be handled by the actors. the director should have let their acting show whether a line in a conversation is supposed to be light or not. the banter should be natural, not the sound effects telling me that something is supposed to be funny. the acting is good though. I miss TJR's cheeky character in MJTY, it's so odd seeing him righteous here lol. neo hou is also doing some big boy acting here, hopefully this is the role that breaks the youth role typecast

I noticed this as well. She likes “serious” dramas these days but honestly majority of c-drama watchers are not looking for Emmy winning productions that have a critique about the society lol

Just remember the double was 7.9 at one point and now it’s 8.9

I'm also wondering what the hell they are trying to do with that plotline!
