The drama started dropping when they started releasing one episode a day. I would have love to see Cai Zhao grow,…
i hated how she called him "master" till the very end and even buried his ashes with her aunt. i would also like to see some serious conversation between ML and FL at the end and not the confusing episode in which he suddenly lives after all and then they sing
I feel like all of that buildup when it comes to their relationship, the sheer intensity of it kinda fell flat…
i agree, the ending feels very flat. there was no proper build up towards it. sure, the relationship and its push-and-pull dynamic took the whole drama, but there was no proper introduction towards the actual RELATIONSHIP-being together-starting a future part, i was disappointed too
finished. it wasnt bad - not a masterpiece, but certainly had some entertainment value. ive mostly enjoyed the first half - i didnt even mind the weird editing in the first few episodes. even with that the drama managed to build up tension and keep me interested. for me it started going downhill after episode 20 - my frustration at some redundant plots grew, it was more difficult to keep up with the story and the reasoning behind some character's actions became unsubstiantial. also they mentioned FL's aunt SO MUCH and with such reverence it became almost comical. i understand her part in the story but the way they build her up felt like a plot invasion, she took over everything. my favorite thing was definitely the push and pull between the leads. ML did fantastic job with his character - havent seen anything else with this actor (i dropped when i fly towards you very quickly) and he impressed me. the character itself was very consistent and complex. ive liked FL too - she was smart and not airheaded, capable. but she did frustrate me, mostly after ep 30 even tho i understood her to some degree. the actress did well but i feel like her makeup artist did her a big disservice - she had such pale ghostly makeup for the whole time i had to change my monitor settings to see her properly. her performance was hindered by erased features. i wish there had been more romantic scenes cause they had really good chemistry. i didnt really care for the ending - i feel like it lacked build up. it did feel a bit lackluster to me. but oh well, i will take that. overall i recommend to check it out - especially if you like love-hate relationships with morally grey ML and a reluctant realistic FL. both had flaws and were ultimately very human. i will probably rewatch a lot of their scenes together but not the whole drama
Did anyone else feel completely cheated after watching the drama compared to the trailer?Because the trailer seriously…
i was thinking the same thing! if i watched the trailer shortly before watching the drama i would be feeling very misled. as it is, i watched the trailer way before so i managed to forget most things that were in it and only realized at the end that i had very different impression from the trailer initially. i dislike false advertisement in every form, but i can at least say that i enjoyed the drama nonetheless
We are at epi 32 but still the push and pull between the leads seems annoying, they should have been together by…
at this point i cant take another drawn out scene of the six sects people just standing around arguing and pushing the blame on each other for stuff and being shady and clearly despicable, they feel like filler scenes at this point. they add nothing to the plot and nothing is resolved. i liked the push and pull between the leads for a long time but i have to agree with you, at ep 32 this is just too damn much. someone hold my hand through this frustration π
i swear to god, if i was paid every time someone in this drama said "dont fall for the demon sect lies" i wouldnt have to go to work tomorrow, or the day after, or probably for the rest of the month π like come up with some different comeback when someone exposes your evil doing at this point
When this drama first came out, I saw a lot of negative reviews, which made me lose interest in watching it. Now…
The editing does get better! Its choppy and confusing for like 6 episodes, then its fine, and only in EP 29 i found one moment weirdly edited. I think most people have some issues with the plot kinda going in cirlces. Might be frustrating at times. Also there's a lot of characters and its easy to get lost in who is who
Bao Shang En looked beautiful during her execution scene, I was in awe and felt emotional for her character. I…
I agree, thought the same in that scene. I actually have a different theory why her performance in this drama might be judged as flat and unconvincing - the damn awful face makeup they did on her. I know she has pale skin, but the foundation they put on her makes her basically translucent. Its like she's completely washed out. Makeup on other female characters is not much better either, but on her is really goddamn pale. I need to adjust my monitor settings just to see her properlyπ€· Still I liked her, havent seen anything else with her yet
Cai Zhao did mention that in ep 30 though. The one-year confinement seems harsh, but Qi Yunke mostly did that…
Yeah it might look that way, but i deeply mistrust that guy and somehow that reasoning doesnt resonate with me. But i guess she convinced herself to believe that π€·
For me I think she binds her self too much with trying to live up to her aunty type of stuff
Yeah i get you, but in my opinion at the beginning she still had her own will so to speak, even despite what you mentioned. But she surrendered herself completely over time. Which i suppose is the plot. While it might have been her fate all along, she still had a choice how to face it. And i guess she do what she did in the end. I feel like it cost her her spirit and i miss that
For me I think she binds her self too much with trying to live up to her aunty type of stuff
yeah, that might play a big part. probably discovering new things about her aunt and her environment, and also people around mentioning her often made CZ feel like an extension of the aunt. i wish she stayed more true to herself, i liked her from the beginning cause she clearly had her own personality
