It was okay. Mostly enjoyed the first half. The second dragged a bit, and I didnt like where the plot went in ep 10-12. Liked the leads, good acting, interesting characters that had some depth and werent annoying. Wouldnt rewatch but it was good to watch after work to destress. I gave it 7,5/10
Really decent. Entertaining, good balance between comedy and seriousness. Interesting characters, smart and capable FL without being presented as omnipotent or always coming up on top. Great sisterhood story. Im glad it had no romance, it wouldnt fit well in here. Of course some technical finance jargon went over my head but I was watching for the vibes. Got a bit stressful around ep 11 and it took me a bit to watch next 3 episodes but the end pulled me back in and I really liked it. 8,5/10 for me

Calling it awful is going overboard I would say. I think it was overall good but some parts could be presented better 🤷 I enjoyed it but the ending was just not it, plain and simple

And sure, the drama is about understanding someone's own language but it is still a drama, not an actual relationship, and this level of hidden meaning known only to the leads is for me unjustified

The fact they didnt break up is completely irrelevant here for me - they still right at the end of the drama separated and lacked communication during this time which I feel was unnecessary and very unsatisfying to watch.

Hated the last ep. They used the kinda break up but not really/ I need to go to resolve an internal issue/ for some reason cannot do it in a relationship like an adult and stay in contact/ who knows how long the separation took and what actually happened with the issue that required travel/ then suddenly meeting again at the end like nothing happened and happy end. It really fucking annoyed me. How many times will I watch this trope? 🙄
Ive been in an incredible slump with asian dramas for months and finally gave this one a go cause its shorter. Ive enjoyed it and binged it over a weekend. The story is cute and has a vibe to it. I wasnt bored. The acting and chemistry was good. I did find frustrating how the relationship developed. In many moments I found myself confused at what was actually happening between the leads - their communication often obscured by some unspoken meaning I wasnt a part of. Below an example marked as a spoiler. I gave it 7,5/10
if you like some chinese fantasy go for Fangs of fortune, if you dont try out Blossoms in adversity
For me very good. One of my favorites. Rather mature, well communicated couple. FL is smart and capable. ML is the quiet strength type. He has some good fight scenes. In my opinion the couple and the drama are underrated
They ran out of things to do in the last episode. The editing messed up big time too - yeah I get it, we want…
the Mu twin plot i got lost so badly i had to google which twin was which at one point 😂 but yeah, i agree, it was kinda random that he caused the death of her fellow disciples. he either could come clean and work WITH her to defeat the evil bastard or try to get rid of him himself but without causing unnecessary deaths. and his own death in the end was just - i dunno - if they wanted to show that, they could have also made them talk first. the last episode disaster is caused by prolonging plots that should have been resolved or dealt with earlier. instead they left it till the very end and did this sudden big climax, that actually felt anticlimactic, and had no way of easing into the aftermath of that. seriously, i didnt read the novel but probably if they stuck to it more, and followed its dynamic, it wouldnt end this weirdly. ZYR did very well, i agree! would love to see him in more costume dramas. i was also entertained, i actually rated it rather high i think, but the frustration was also rather high. i like your vision of the ending btw - that would be great. i would have also love to see FL actually react emotionally to the ML at the end, when he was struck, when he was dying, when it could have been the end after all. i would have love to see HER proposing to HIM for example. and for gods sake! they could have given us ONE BETTER KISS. JUST ONE.

the last episode was a total disaster to me and yeah, there was a lot of SML at the end of the drama. i didnt dislike his character but i generally feel like i didnt get enough scenes with the ML so i would have preferred that over SML. you described Zhao well - i also feel the same way about her, revolving door. she lacked courage to face herself all this time - she called Yunke "master" till the very end like she just could not accept it was him the entire time. still holding on to her comfortable view of who was who and what was what. i feel like when she put the sword in his chest she was still more shocked at him and who he turned to be rather than at the DYING MQY AT HER FEET. and then the episode ended and the next one, final one, was this bullshit illogical mess of a happy end. what the hell. im not even gonna start on her aunt - she might have been a pillar for the story but they made her a saintly goddess which resonated VERY BAD in the drama. the editor must have been drunk for some of the parts cause i dont see how else it could have been edited this weirdly, and i didnt even mind it in the first episodes. but i just cant forgive the editing for the final one
MDL ratings and reviews are nuts - I have not watched the drama - but based on MDL ratings and reviews - I clearly…
it is weird how polarizing this drama may appear, especially after i watched it and didnt find it neither especially bad, nor especially good. for me there really isnt anything to be so polarized about. its a wuxia that has a lot of blood vomitting, sects fighting, good or evil conundrum and an interesting romantic dynamic between a morally grey ML and bound by duty and family FL. if you can bear with some weird editing at the beginning and like tension filled slowburn give it a try but dont be too serious about it, and dont worry if you sometimes get lost in the story (there's lots of characters, i didnt try to remember them all either)
