Watched first 5 episodes, they were really good. Love TXW so far - kept my eye on this drama cause Ive liked her 3 other dramas Ive watched. This one so far does not disappoint. Its really pretty visually, tension between the leads is also good, so is the pacing. Wasnt bored yet, curious what happens next. Wanna see more Yan Zheng character development, Chang yu is great so far. Fingers crossed it doesnt flop 🤞 Gonna be difficult waiting for new episodes tho

i thought they perhaps start to give her some redemption arc here and there in a couple of scenes but ultimately no, they made her too vapid and horrible. one of the worst characters honestly

i agree. unless they gonna pull a sudden, basically non-explained happy end at the last minute

i agree, im starting to get annoyed too. i also find FL relationship with the aunt overdone - the FL's actual mom is like completely unimportant, while the aunt is portrayed like she was more important than the mother. i get her role in the drama but unfortunately it's a plot miss for me, i just dont buy it. i didnt mind it a first but im at ep 23 and its starting to rub me the wrong way. im also still confused who the hell is who in the flasbacks from the past

i personally only hate love triangles where the FL doesnt know whom should she choose and the feelings from the SML are not actually one sided but i get you :) it can be annoying to watch especially if the SML or SFL are messing around too much. the romance part in it is great tho - the leads have a lot of tension in my opinion, there's just something about them that makes me like to watch them together

i recommend to try it out too, the tension between the leads is very good. they are also interesting characters. love their scenes together, i also like they act a bit more mature? a lot of young adult characters in wuxia acts childish or is very impulsive. but here they are both deeper and more competent than most, at least in my opinion

not really i guess? FL gets to know ML first but they dont develop feelings immediately. they get to know each other and ML falls pretty quickly but FL is more reserved. she is pretty drawn to him tho. about the SML - she gets to know him when she arrives at the sect for training, doesn't seem to even befriend him really at first. later due to things happening i guess they become friends but not like super close? she doesnt see him that way, he admires her tho. it's also important to mention that FL technically has a fiance (arranged by her aunt when she was alive, he might me the third male lead lol but so far barely appears) and the SML also has a fiance. i dont think there's gonna be a true love triangle - FL seems only interested in the ML, doesnt care much for other men. but family duty and their background somewhat keeps her away, the romance is not her priority. ML is jealous of other men but its rather funny - FL doesnt encourage that at all and half the time doesnt really notice it. hope i didnt spoil too much

it seems to be kinda normal for those times but i have to say they are close cousins, it is rather off in my opinion. i mean their mothers were sisters

what the cousin sees in him though? he literally appears useless 😂 what does he even do with his time since absolutely everything important is done by his mommy

he did his utmost best to present a life with him in the worst light possible 😂 not marrying anyone at all would be way better than marrying this guy and doing a job of like 10 people for free

im finishing ep 16 and so far ive enjoyed it a lot. despite the messy choppy editing that made me feel like i was losing my mind at times, really bad make up on the female characters and some typical wuxia tropes, ive had fun and really liked both leads. their chemistry and them as characters. but what in the actual fuck is with the last scenes of ep 16? who the hell wrote it this BADLY? im so frustrated omg 🤦

seriously? the drama has some things that could be fixed but its actually really enjoyable. not a work of art but good entertainment, at least so far. and the both leads are a big reason for that. i havent had so much interest in a drama since love in the clouds. surprising really

i dropped it awhile ago and cant bring myself to come back. for me it was the unnatural amount of self-righteousness and long "justice-will-prevail" speeches that FL and ML literally preached about numerous times, very emotionally, to the point it started shadowing any other interaction they had and took away from the seriousness of the cases they were working on. i couldnt stand it. started feeling like i was watching bad anime. a shame cause i really liked first episodes but they really went overboard quickly. i dropped it at ep 12. do they stop doing that later on maybe?

it might be unpopular opinion but i loved LOVED the romance part - between zhu yan and wen xiao (the leads). it was such an emotionally intimate and understated relationship. loved them together from their first encounter - they flirted playfully. they always had respect towards each other, had deep conversations with each other, joked with each other. a mature relationship. it wasnt physical tho - just some hugs, hand holding, sweet interactions. in my opinion it is a disservice to call the romance between FL and ML a smokescreen for censorship. but i guess it all depends on your own perspective. no love triangles

Finished. It was quite good - I especially enjoyed first 20 episodes. The pacing was just right for the most part. I liked the mood of it too. Main leads had good chemistry and acted well, I really liked second leads and their romance too, sometimes even more than the main leads. That being said, there were some things that truly annoyed me - like the FL being an absolute misfortune magnet at the beginning. They really laid it thick, to the point it was almost comical how unlucky she was. I also really disliked the execution of the whole Hong Kong arc. Maybe I have gotten too old for romance dramas like this one and I'm just too critical of some dramatic, trauma-based tropes that are supposed to bring depth to the plot. Besides that, I liked both Sang Yan and Wen Yifan for the most part, but I wouldn't necessarily call any of them "a green forest" as I've seen people do. They had some good sides and bad sides, I both enjoyed them and was frustrated with them at different points. It's not a rewatch for me but I would still recommend to check it out. Definitely worth a try. I gave it 8/10.

"- in the finale, FL aids someone with getting away with murder" THIS! i forgot about this! not only that, the murdered person was ML's brother. that she knew he cared about, even if the guy was a number. how fucked up is that?

im on ep 13 words cannot describe how much the idiot intern mu cheng whatever his fucking name is triggered me with his invasiveness, creepiness, not respecting ANY boundries, inviting himself over to her own home, deciding on his own she's gonna get a new roommate..... the audacity! someone please tell me when he is out of the picture cause the outrage is huge, so far the series has been relaxing to me but his appearence absolutely ruined the mood
