i have to say, for how much tension they created between the leads, the kissing scenes were disappointing

i think it is - while not a masterpiece, it certainly has moment when it grips attention. for me it's worth to watch because of the interesting relationship the leads have - not the healthiest, kinda dark but also not completely unbalanced. so much tension there. the plot is kinda convoluted and you need to pay attention to know whats going on (i admit i kinda got lost a few times lol). the editing is messed up a bit in few first episodes (i personally didnt mind it too much, was just a bit confused here and there). for me it stood out amongst other recent releases cause despite its problems it did hold my attention which i struggle with. that being said, for me it did become a bit frustrating to watch after like ep 20-21. give it a try and keep an open mind, you might like it :)

Yeah, in a way it is Romeo/Juliet story but I severly dislike the actual source material (I mean the Romeo and Juliet book), while I do like the relationship in the drama - it's not screaming a childish romance but a complex relationship. Very interesting individuals trying to build something together against odds, and even against each other. I think it's actually the strongest part of the drama for me.

i agree, he's so invested in her. at this point, if he is not after all a complete villain in this, then he must be projecting his own feelings regarding her aunt onto her which is creepy

everytime the Qi guy appears on screen my eyes automatically roll, at this point i cant even control it

i think thats why this romance actually works - cause its not completely unbalanced in its toxicity. its the worst when you have this angelic and helpless character and the other one is a devil incarnate - it creates a relationship so unhealthy its difficult to watch. but here they are both kinda assholes or at least can be, so to each their own. none of them is powerless against the other

no problem. honestly im watching cause i like that the FL is not a mindless idiot, she has a brain and some skill, and the ML is a schemer. not gonna lie, im sticking out cause i like the romance part the most - its giving dark obssessive fanfiction vibes and im all for it 😂 so far its not too much in that direction for me, but there are still some episodes to go so we will see how that develops

depends, if you like the leads, you might enjoy. their relationship is more on the darker side, as the ML is at best morally grey and it shows. not the healthiest of relationship but the tension is giving. as far as the story goes, for me it becomes kinda convoluted and hard to follow, few first episodes also have some issues with editing, that might be confusing. i would say give it a try and keep an open mind, unless you like very green forest male leads - it will not be for you then. im on ep 24 and a bit frustrated with it at the moment

at this point this voice actor is more ZLH than ZLH himself in my mind🤣

thought so. i guess if i watched them recently and started this one, i would be tripping as well. i dislike when they use different voices for trailers and the drama itself

omg makes sense! its been a while since i watched a drama with him and ive watched princess royal. gotta give it to them - the voice actor is pretty similar. what about the story of kunning palace or the best thing? those 2 i also watched a while ago, was it him?

Watched first 5 episodes, they were really good. Love TXW so far - kept my eye on this drama cause Ive liked her 3 other dramas Ive watched. This one so far does not disappoint. Its really pretty visually, tension between the leads is also good, so is the pacing. Wasnt bored yet, curious what happens next. Wanna see more Yan Zheng character development, Chang yu is great so far. Fingers crossed it doesnt flop 🤞 Gonna be difficult waiting for new episodes tho

i thought they perhaps start to give her some redemption arc here and there in a couple of scenes but ultimately no, they made her too vapid and horrible. one of the worst characters honestly

i agree. unless they gonna pull a sudden, basically non-explained happy end at the last minute

i agree, im starting to get annoyed too. i also find FL relationship with the aunt overdone - the FL's actual mom is like completely unimportant, while the aunt is portrayed like she was more important than the mother. i get her role in the drama but unfortunately it's a plot miss for me, i just dont buy it. i didnt mind it a first but im at ep 23 and its starting to rub me the wrong way. im also still confused who the hell is who in the flasbacks from the past

i personally only hate love triangles where the FL doesnt know whom should she choose and the feelings from the SML are not actually one sided but i get you :) it can be annoying to watch especially if the SML or SFL are messing around too much. the romance part in it is great tho - the leads have a lot of tension in my opinion, there's just something about them that makes me like to watch them together

i recommend to try it out too, the tension between the leads is very good. they are also interesting characters. love their scenes together, i also like they act a bit more mature? a lot of young adult characters in wuxia acts childish or is very impulsive. but here they are both deeper and more competent than most, at least in my opinion

not really i guess? FL gets to know ML first but they dont develop feelings immediately. they get to know each other and ML falls pretty quickly but FL is more reserved. she is pretty drawn to him tho. about the SML - she gets to know him when she arrives at the sect for training, doesn't seem to even befriend him really at first. later due to things happening i guess they become friends but not like super close? she doesnt see him that way, he admires her tho. it's also important to mention that FL technically has a fiance (arranged by her aunt when she was alive, he might me the third male lead lol but so far barely appears) and the SML also has a fiance. i dont think there's gonna be a true love triangle - FL seems only interested in the ML, doesnt care much for other men. but family duty and their background somewhat keeps her away, the romance is not her priority. ML is jealous of other men but its rather funny - FL doesnt encourage that at all and half the time doesnt really notice it. hope i didnt spoil too much
