I checked this out and dropped. it is so hyped up and acting is so ... fake, and the dialogue is ... silly. Like…
Wait, what do you mean by “no humor”? Have you actually watched it? There’s plenty of humor in this drama. Criticize the CCP if you want but don’t trash Chinese people.

The village scene is necessary.. U'll understand in episode 17-18..that build up is needed
The drama delivers undeniably stunning visuals and action scenes, which stand out as one of its greatest strengths, esp. ep 26 battle.

Yeah. I feel just like ML not telling FL about his real identity, stems from his insecurity of loosing her, he…
but the drama didn't really reveal what their thinking is, it's subject to each viewer to interpret it for yourself their intentions

I just rewatched the fight between Changyu and Shi Hu, and wow, what an incredibly well-executed fight—it was…
Ep 26 battle, especially the FL fight scenes look like a drama enactment of a video game animation

I really liked New Life Begins and Wrong Carriage Right Groom but wasn't a fan of Moonlit Réunion. I dropped…
I could be wrong, but I think GOTD was all about the ML. I recall seeing comments when it was airing that Tian Xi Wei didn't have much screentime. In Moonlit Reunion, it's female-centric story, but in Pursuit of Jade, it's all about the FL. Moonlit Reunion gave a lot of screen time also to supporting cast, and the ML had little screentime.

This director is doing too much with my emotions. One minute Changyu just slaughtered the biggest pig; the next…
I think the director’s style has both pros and cons. He’s undeniably artistic and knows how to give viewers what they want, but at the same time, he seems to control so much of the actors’ craft.

She says her ridiculous lines with such conviction, you don't know if you should laugh or not

The FL is incredible. It’s usually the ML that keeps me watching but her personality is so addicting and likable.
The story follows one main character, and that character is the female lead.

Title Pursuit of Jade Spoiler
Everyone is talking about FL being mad at ML for hiding his identity. If I were ML I'd be pretty upset my bride…
I'm a bit torn, because the story hasn’t really convinced me why he needs to keep it secret for so long. Without a strong reason, it ends up weakening his character. Since the story already doesn’t go very deep into the ML, it becomes even easier for his characterization to feel thin.

yes they announced him
Yeah, I think that’s probably it. The men with him would be shouting and announcing his entry. At the end of the episode, only the pig squad was left, which was intentional. The director has a way of creating moments. There are pros and cons to his style for the actors.

ngl I kind of lol'd when she went on the battle field with a butcher knife
It’s not meant to be realistic or serious—it’s written like the stuff of legends.

How did the men know it was the Marquis arriving on horse when they didn’t even know what he looked like back at camp? Was it his horse, something he carried, his men, or did someone announce him?

Yeah this FL is believable because drama shows you rather than just tell you she’s strong.
She says she’s going to cut off a few ears on the battlefield to prove she actually fought. To her, it’s no different from chopping off pig ears—which, honestly, is a pretty common dish.
And in an earlier episode, she threatened to cut off the bad guy's penis!
