Beautiful drama โค๏ธ. 100 % satisfying. I avoided MDL for days to not get spoiled for the last two episodes and finally I could finish it. Every thing made sense and nothing seemed to be rushed. This is a clear 10/10 drama for me. Thank you to the whole cast and production team for this wonderful ride. And also many thanks to all my Knight flower fellows- the comment section here was so amazing๐
We are in the same boat. I am not a fan of Lee Jong Suk (Yes, extremely unpopular opinion indeed). But I have…
Oh thanks for your reply, I didn't expect a like-minded person ๐ I have just watched one episode yet but LJS does actually a good job though I was a bit skeptical a the beginning. The ending was quite blow minding. For me it is the FL who has not that strong acting skill...but let's see (as far I can see she is an idol). I wouldn't expect too much, I think it is better to have low expectations in general with high rated dramas. Otherwise the disappointment will be way too big... my experiences so far ๐
damn seeing u guys not liking lee jongsuk my fav actor broke my heart lol๐ญ
Sorry hope we didn't hurt your feelings :( For me it is mostly because of the looks since I only remember him from Secret Garden (at that time he had been really young, his acting was nothing extraordinary). I love actors who actually have some flaws or traits which are memorable. Like Oh Eui Shik (Knight flower) has one eye which is a bit smaller, the side profile of Lomon's nose (All of us are dead) is not even, there is a tiny bumb or Cha Eun Woo (True beauty) has a wrinkle next to his mouth. All of them are attractive and those flaws make these men more handsome...
So that's why I can't stand looks if they are way too perfect or too artificial. And unfortunately that's the case for Lee Jung Suk... After watching tons of East Asian Dramas I can see immediately if something is unnatural or off with someone's face. I know beauty standards are crazy in South Korea but I don't think many of those craved things look attractive, like a pointy chin, round forehead, double lid eyes or a too perfect nose... it makes people interchangeable and provides a toxic society in which people are constantly unsatisfied with themselves.
I really appreciate your nice and civilised answer, I actually have expected a big outrage ๐
Tbh I don't like Lee Jong Suk (I know very unpopular opinion!). Usually I avoid his dramas- he looks so artificial and did just too much stuff on his face, his nose is so distracting...
Started this because of the good reviews and I am hooked right from the 1st episode! He does a great job! Really like it so far. Hope it stays like that. The FL is also good, though her crying scenes are not that convincing... it always seems like she is laughing...
Wow episode 1 was so bad I had to drop it immediately... those scenes with the army were damn boring. The downfall reminds me of The Walking Dead: instead of focusing on the zombies they were so caught up in their stupid gang wars.
Exactly... this system is quite inhumane, especially since rich sons from Chaebols and influential politicians…
It was the same case also for my country: just a few years ago young men in Germany had to decide either between military service or doing social work for a year. Now it is completely voluntary.
I don't think Korean young men and women would ever protest against this system. In comparison to Western society the society in SK is deeply hierarchical. Parents have so much influence over their children, same goes to relationships like teacher-student, boss-worker etc.
Everyone is crying about women in South Korea should have to enlist and serve in the military...I think it should…
Exactly... this system is quite inhumane, especially since rich sons from Chaebols and influential politicians can just avoid mandatory military service. I feel sorry for all those young men.
Because of the raving reviews I started this... and I am already struggling at episode 4. Am I the only one? It is a bit boring and there isn't much chemistry between the leads. Maybe this is aimed at teenagers? Really hard to continue.
they should also introduce for women, especially in face of growing threats from north koreaif israel can do it,…
I knew someone would bring in Israel.
It is the perfect example why mandatory military service should end - young men and women are trained to be m*nsters and bloodhounds who don't feel empathy and do not shy away from sniping and torturing innocent children, women and men ๐คฎ
Right now on ep 2 and so far it is interesting. This might be hard to explain but this series doesn't seem like a Kdrama. Maybe it is the lightning or the picture quality? Weird
the male lead is more cool and handsome in his historical traditional korean disguise than acting non historical…
That's the case with many korean actors when it comes to traditional attire. It is just so flattering. They look so much more dashing and manly in those typical korean clothes from Joseon dynasty with the head band, sword and the boots. ๐ฅ
I also love that the royal family for once is not the typical corrupt, cut throat types. The king is a sweetheart…
Yes I also love the king! At first I thought he is the typical pushover and a puppet in the political intrigens but he has actually guts and is quite clever. Kudos to the who whole production team to make every character so likable!
Together with The Heirs the only drama which got a 1/10 from me. People are arguing that it was a hit in 2010. No, it was already that bad back than...
