As an open ending, they intentionally left it up to the audience to decide with the last image. But I would say yes. They do reunite in the novel after his soul heals for 1,000 years.

Tantai Jin having her divine essence didn't technically make him immortal .Had he not gone into the nether river and not cultivated he may have just lived a very long but mortal life. This is what Li Susu believed happened to him before they are reunited. The essence allowed him to survive the nether river but after 500 years, it was nearly completely burned out, the healing power was weakening and he may have eventually died if not for the crossbow and Zhao You saving him. The divine essence allowed him to cultivate, which means he could then "level up" essentially, and reach immortality. The immortals themselves are not completely immortal I don't think (especially if you were born human ) Even Ming Ye died eventually after burning through his essence sustaining the dream underneath the river. Through cultivation they can gain more power, level up with each breakthrough and become extremely long living, and if they manage to ascend to godhood, then they are considered true "immortals" because that is the peak of cultivation.

Without the evil bone the ancient devil god can't fully resurrect in him, but Tantai Jin is still technically the devil fetus. He was specifically created through mystical means, as the perfect vessel for the Ancient Devil God. So this is still the ADG's preferred body. And his artefacts are still drawn to him because of it. The devil god also intended to make him suffer as much as possible because he basically feeds on resentment and sin. But if he could not have TTJ - he would eventually find someone else to fulfil the same purpose. As long as the evil bone exists this was a possibility and the cycle would continue.

That was their plan - TTJ cultivating, growing stronger and coming to self-acceptance in his identity, and he and Li Susu deciding to figure out how to destroy the evil bone together while her spiritual body could still contain it. Something throws a spanner in that plan when a certain someone gets greedy for the power himself. Dimian, possessed by the ADG opens the Tongbei Formation, and at that point TTJ has no choice but to take the bone back and become the devil god himself.

Ming Ye is not actually a past life of Tantai Jin and Sang Jiu is not a past life of Li Susu/Ye Xiwu. They are different people. Ming Ye and the Ancient Devil God are also two different people.

The dragon (which is actually Ming Ye) created a looped dream and had been reliving the past over and over for 10,000 years beneath the river. When Tantai Jin and Ye Xiwu (as well as Xiao Lin and Ye Bingchang) entered the dream or "Bo're Life" they experienced the past as though they actually were those characters. They learn about the past, the Ancient Devil God, and the war between gods and demons 10,000 years earlier. And Tantai Jin got to experience a wide range of emotions that were new for him, through Ming Ye. This helped his relationship with YXW develop and helped in him forming his love threads.

The real Ming Ye and Sang Jiu would have looked different in the actual timeline. But TTJ does look like the Ancient Devil God. Tantai Jin was specifically created to be the Ancient Devil God's devil fetus, which is why they look the same.

Yeah he knew Si Ying, Mo Nv's sister 10,000 years earlier, from the time she was a child. So I assume he knew or knew of Mo Nv too, (after the god of war sent her to the mortal world for punishment) . But also being a god in the way he was, he may just be able to know regardless.

It wasnt one moment where she fell in love. It happened gradually, and without her even realising it. I think she had started having some kind of feeling for him early on, it was just complicated by feelings of hate and denial 😅. Pity and compassion and then attraction and a little something more. It deepened after Bo're life. By the time of the water festival she was in love with him.

The ancient devil god is a primordial god, I assume he can talk to and appear to whoever he chooses to. The fact that Ye Bingchang is a mortal trial of Mo Nu, a demon he knew, may factor into it too. He also knows Ye Bingchangs darkness and I think he wants to play on that to ultimately cause more pain and suffering to TTJ,. (The porridge and everything that follows )

It's interesting that you say this because Li Susu gets a lot of hate for being too conflicted in her feelings and "too cruel to TTJ."
I always felt the conflict... and the hate and love mixed together. I enjoyed it a lot. But many didnt like that aspect at all.

She did love him. But she holds herself back from him too because she also knows in her heart it probably cant ever be. (Though she gives him chances) Neither Xiao Yao or Xiang Liu ever voice the depth of their feelings aloud. Even in the most recent episodes she waited by the ocean for an entire week in wedding red hoping he might come for her to stop her wedding but she doesn't ever admit that is what she's waiting for. (The fact he is also in red robes visually shows his desire for the same) When he asks her who she wants to spend her life with she cant give an answer like she did to his other questions. It's not spoken but shown to the audience.

Basically... it's complicated. 🤣 And is what makes them tragic.

Because Xiang Liu never allows himself to be with her. I dont think he believes he can give her everything she wants. They both hold themselves back from that. And he ends up dying on the battlefield.
I think they are soulmates. But soulmates don't always end up together.

There's only 23 episodes so I imagine they would want to drag it out.

It's been 4 years since it was completed. The original distribution license has now expired. So at this point it seems it has been shelved. (At least for now)

It's possibly a result of his ankle injury towards the end of filming. (They don't shoot the episodes in order) Perhaps they had to rewrite some things to get around it when he couldn't film.

It's still there for me.

The double meaning or symbolism of "coming out of the closet" was not lost on me 😅 I also wish we saw more of the aftermath.

It has an open ending that can be looked at as hopeful if it makes you feel any better 😅

And there are always the happy ending chapters of the novel 's epilogue if you need them.

How does a fully blind person know who they love? People have their other senses too. Prosopagnosia (face blindness ) is a real thing that can't be fixed in real life but we dont know if it's something that will be fixed in the show yet. (It is a fantasy setting so it's possible at some point)

The male lead can't see or recognise her facial features but he can still see her. He also knows her voice, her smell, her mannerisms and he can sense her.

It may have some romance in it (how much we don't know yet), but it's not a romance focused drama.
