There are two different endings. The original official ending on Youku(& youtube) and tv, implies that Su Wei'an died as a result of their drug trial and we see their son. The version on viki was the alternative ending ( which was actually a seperate clip from the episode on the youku app) Certain parts of the scene were cut (the reference to the drug trial patient dying) and it's left a little more ambiguous as to weather she has died or not and we don't see their son. For some reason viki chose the alt. ending instead.

I thought the cgi was, for the most part, pretty good in this. A leap above the cgi in a lot of other dramas i've watched in the same genre tbh. 😅

But regardless of how you feel about the cgi, yes I do think you should give it another go. Worth it for the Story, acting (especially Luo yunxi and Bai Lu), onscreen chemistry, music and costume as well imo. 😊

Xiao Lin insinuated he was going to kill himself if he couldn't escape, and despite loving him, she didn't trust TTJ. Maybe he wouldn't kill Xiao Lin but she didn't believe he would release him (And why would he given the circumstances? He was the emperor and this man was the enemy of Jing kingdom.) And I think for Li Susu, she still saw XL not just as a good person, but as her sect brother from the future, Gongye Jiwu, who she grew up with. She didn't want to hurt TTJ, but I don't think she believed he would let XL go any other way and there was no way to escape without him out of the picture for a bit. Really not the smartest decision she made obviously, because not only would it hinder her mission, it allowed Ye Bingchang to do what she did, and then everything that followed.

I don't think she really thought it through. Li Susu (as Ye Xiwu at least) is kind of impulsive and quick to temper sometimes. But, at least in this case, she didn't intentionally set out to hurt him. I think when she realized he had mind controlled her and forced her to kill XL against her will, she was much too angry and hurt to think further on the porridge. It just fed into the fears she already had.

Open ending. Sad but hopeful.

The novel it's being adapted from is set after Black Moonlight Holds the BE script. A very long time after I think. (I've read that Tantai Jin, Li Susu and A Mi are briefly mentioned in it, as are Ming Ye and Sang Jiu) So I'm starting to wonder if it will actually be a sequel rather than a prequel. Or rather, just another story set in the same universe.

To those saying there will be no romance

In a recent variety show there was a segment in which the question was: "Name the artists who have played lovers in movies and dramas" the contestant said "Liu Yuning" and

Liu yuning finished it with saying
"Zhao Lusi"

Sure he could have been talking about The Long Ballad but seeing as he had just finished filming The Story of Pearl Girl im going to assume its likely that is what he was referring too.

So Liu Yuning is referring to them as playing lovers. Exactly what kind of romance it will be we will have to wait to find out. 🤣 (we can guess. I would assume a complicated one)

I've also been following the reuters there is no way there's nothing between them at all

edit* I obviously don't know what kisses there are or aren't in this. I'm just speaking romance. I would assume there are given as they are described as "lovers" and both have done kissing scenes before, but if not - well, with good enough chemistry it doesn't always matter.

Not really. Another male character has a thing for the FL but she never realises it until near the end and never feels the same way. There is also another character who has a thing for the ML, he never feels the same way either.

It's officially been one year since Till The End Of The Moon ended. I cannot even deal with that... how quickly time passes. 😭

I mean the drama was filmed four years ago and this, as well as other dramas based on BL novels in that time, still haven't come out. So I understand why many people may feel it's shelved for good.

Cheng Lei is currently filming a drama with Song Yi. Shadow Love. They both got days off to film Hello Saturday. So not him. 😅

So happy to hear the cast will be there. Never expected a variety show for FYH to be honest. But I'm happy about it. It'll be a lot of fun.

Despite the noticeable cuts in this episode, I still find it so beautiful and so epic. I love seeing TTJ readying himself for his final showdown. 😭 The steps all falling into place - 10,000 years in the making. Li Susu ascending and becoming a true goddess! I loved the way she stopped time, the way she seemed otherworldly and all-knowing. And her amazing Dunhuang inspired costume.

Li Susu was ready to die with the man she loves "Without the devil god, the world won't need a god" There is no denying her love there . She'd rather go with him than live without him. Of course Tantai Jin was never going to let that happen.

And here we are at the end. Heart-wrenching! But I still believe that as long as his primordial spirit remains in the heart-guarding scale, there is always hope for them to be reunited one day. I believe it is his primordial spirit, based on the novel, what Youku have released, and TTJ's comments about primordial spirits living on in the previous episode, among other things. I know this is intentionally left up for interpretation, so all is valid, but this is what I still feel. More so now than I did back then. But it's still so emotional.

In the meantime, our poor Susu has to live on. I think of her words in the Li Susu letter. She doesn't want to resign to fate, that it's her turn to search for him. But he must not lie to her again once she finds him.

A heartbreaking unknown amount of time of waiting and searching. (500 years? 1,000 years? More?) But she will never let his memory die in that time, and she will continue to tell their daughter stories about him. They carry him with them.

I still love that love scene so so much. Manages to be so romantic, sexy and sad at the same time. The way he kisses her nose and forehead. The way she cries and clings to him. Sensual and heartbreaking 🤌

I just wish we got more of what we saw in the leaks. And that it was edited a little differently. But still...😍🔥

I remember baby Fengfeng in the early days of shooting. I suppose it's possible they shot all the scenes they needed with the baby right off the bat to get it out of the way. It's hard to have them around set and they grow quickly. We'll have to wait and see what the deal is with that I guess.
