There was no need for those last filler episodes. It started interesting but as it went on it became more and…
I can't lie, I enjoyed it from beginning to end. Even the last 6 episodes. 😂 However, I do think there are other parts of the drama that could have been cut out which would have made the drama run shorter. Which may have been for the better. Certain things that are kind of pointless and irrelevant really.

However it was warm and funny, and the relationship between the leads themselves was never boring to me. Their chemistry was so good and natural all the way through. So I definitely feel it's still worth watching overall. I actually enjoy watching this back to back with TTEOTM 😂 (also a big fan)

No! YUNLU FOREVER! Plus Lu Lu is prettier! Hehehe.
I didn't notice anything with the dubbing. But the trailer is edited together using lots of different small clips and voice overs so maybe that's it. Song Yi's voice is softer and lighter. I don't have a problem with it though and I think it suits her.

I can't wait to see them both in this. Hopefully it airs soon.🙏

Think we should try getting this on Viki once it gets an English title because as we know mgtv subs suck.
Agree! MGTV subs were something that concerned me a little too.

I thought it is historical but actually Xianxia.
It's not Xianxia either. Xianxia is a genre that has Cultivation, gods and demons and multiple realms.

This is historical fantasy. Though the fantasy/supernatural element seems to mainly come from the female leads transformations.

I'm not sure about the braids. I think his hair will mostly be up in the traditional bun style in this. But we'll have to wait and see!

I think Zhang Jingyi is very very pretty and I liked her in that movie she did recently with Tan Jianci. I wouldn't be against that pairing. It could be interesting with the right script though there would be an age gap between her and Xixi.

I get that, I also would sell some of my organs for a third drama with YunLu because I adore their pairing! 😂

But actors are always going to have dramas with other actresses as well. Different pairings are fun too. I get about having preferences, but I think saying one is prettier than the other one, about YunLu, and things of that nature, on the Follow Your Heart page, may invite unnecessary drama. ✌🧡

I'm sure Song Yi and LYX and Follow Your Heart will be great and a lot of fun too!

I love Lulu and I love YunLu, but that doesn't mean we can't enjoy other drama CP's too. There's no need to bring either actress down.

I think she did her own dubbing here, like in Destined. I think that's just her voice

Hey hey Moonies! Let's start the rewatch!Drop your many lovely(?)(😅) thoughts for Episode 23 below.#anniversaryrewatch2024#chapter23reload
This has what might be my favourite moment in the entire drama! Tantai Jin and Li Susu dancing the rite of The Devil God and the goddess on the float. It's so beautiful and perfect. 😍 And I adore their costumes this episode!

Them running away from the crowd smiling at each other. The whole conversation under the bridge.....before Nian Baiyu interupted them *sigh*

They were truly in love in this episode 🥰

Them reuniting at the camp. The rising romantic music, the beautiful hug. And then "Ye Xiwu, you smell bad" 🤣 classic moment for me.

The matching outfits 🥰 ye xiwu wearing Tantai Jin's clothes.
Him putting ointment on her feet. The tension was so thick with them looking at each others mouths. 🤭 swap out the cute ost with a different song and the vibe is totally different.

The fight. Oof painful. But in a good way because I love angst.

“Didn’t you taste anything” WEDDING NIGHT FLASHBACK AGAIN 🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is one of my favourite moments! It never fails to make me laugh. Especially as in other translations on viki and netflix it's "realize/realization" instead of taste. Why Youku chose the filthiest and most suggestive translation possible, I don't know - (actually I do, and I thank them for it. 🤣) We all know TTJ tasted something in Bo're Life. 🤭

Title Immortality
Too long as per the rules in China. Only allowed 40 ep max. They could cut 18 episodes but maybe they feel it…
if it's longer than 40 episodes they can release it, it just has to be aired in two parts and the two parts have to be aired a year apart. (Like Lost You Forever, which will have 60 episodes in total once part 2 airs this year.)

However, given everything that has happened I don't think they'd even take the risk of airing it in two parts. (in case something came up that would stop part 2 from airing) I think they would cut it down.

It's his real voice tho???
When actors are dubbed, their voiced actors are listed (though not here on MDL). In this case both Bai Lu and Zhang Linghe dubbed themselves.

Something that I've noticed is that BC in TH's body is an irony itself, since BC was technically part of Monv's…
Ye Bingchang's whole arc is very circular and ironic. Right down to the porridge.

“When Gods die they are completely gone”“But they are not gone if they are remembered” 😭😭 WE WILL…
Yeah, definitely! Although, maybe it was also possible for the other Gods to return in the same way if their essence was saved somehow. We know Ji Ze's soul lived on in some way. Maybe if it was preserved within something rather than dissipating he could also be reborn...I don't know.

Maybe Ming Ye knew this and it is why he and Ji Ze made it so the heart guarding scale ended up with TTJ. With the intention that the purified part of his primordial spirit would be saved by it (it happens similarly but by different means in the novel)

Might also be a plothole. Li Susu planned on dying with TTJ and still says that she'll "tell him when they meet again" as a Goddess she would know if there was no possibility of her (or them) coming back. 😂 Regardless, I think they intentionally left it open in this way so that the audience could decide the ending they preferred.

“When Gods die they are completely gone”“But they are not gone if they are remembered” 😭😭 WE WILL…
unless their primordial essence is saved before their death? a loophole? 🤣

“When Gods die they are completely gone”“But they are not gone if they are remembered” 😭😭 WE WILL…
They are completely gone unless their essence is saved in some way. That is the loophole I would think. I know he says they don't have souls but Ming Ye refers to himself as having a soul in a previous episode and Ji Ze also refers to the fact that it is his soul protecting the barren abyss after his death. So they clearly have something that can survive. I would assume in most cases their soul is destroyed when their body dies so there isn't usually reincarnation for them. But if their soul, or their primordial essence is saved like what happens with The Ancient Devil God and, assumedly, with TTJ at the end. Then they can return in some way.

In the original script this conversation takes places the same way but TTJ still returns in the final scene. So I do think, even though they changed it to an open ending, the implications are still the same for those that prefer that. As TTJ says to LSS in episode 39. "As long as your primordial spirit lives on, the entanglement between us will never end" And I guess we can make what we will of that final shot of TTJ and what that means for his primordial spirit.

Hey hey Moonies!!! To watch or not to watch Episode 16?To WATCH!!!Drop your many lovely thoughts for our couple…
Sang Jiu and Ming Ye's time in the bamboo forest was so beautiful.

When Ming Ye gets his sight back - the subtle shift in his eyes, all of the emotions - it was so well acted by Yunxi. 😭 One of my favourite pieces of acting in the whole drama.

My other favourite moment is them sharing the bed. Sang Jiu adorably cuddling up to him. If time had just stopped right there for them....

But once again it all goes very wrong afterwards.

It's kinda unfortunate that of all the fairy tales that Clam King would tell to his daughter, it has to be THAT…
I always thought it was interesting, because the story actually foreshadows TTJ's story. The king laid his entire body on the scale in sacrifice for the dove and dies. Tantai Jin did the same thing for Li Susu and the world at the end.

But the end of the story is that the gods were so moved by the sincerity of The King's sacrifice that they restored his body and he ascended as a God. Tantai Jin's sacrifice was sincere and without regret. (Where Sang Jiu felt regret) We don't get to see his body restored but it's something we've all speculated on given the final shot. (and given that the heart-guarding scale belonged to a God)
