I think the thing that people question is that this long plan that he says the ancient devil god talked about was set in motion long before the evil fetus was born. But the majority of that fate never happened because TTJ died kneeling in the snow (which he never mentions) The things that happened after that only happened after Li Susu went back. The events in this second timeline do bring him the pre-destined miseries but also bring him the means by which he resisted TDG, which he didn't have in the first timeline.

I understand him being an all knowing god, predicting the possibility of a second timeline and all that. Just like Ming Ye and Ji'Ze knowing this and and leaving Bo're Life for him and Susu. But I can also see why some people question whether it was all specifically planned by him(TDG) like he says. It's vague enough for people to wonder.

I think wouldn't the first option be the better option for The Ancient Devil God's plan? Tantai Jin suffered as he was supposed to and died as a mortal man, without love, hopeless and alone and then he resurrected and continued the initial plan. He destroys the sects and goes on to use the all-in-distress way. The second timeline lead to TDG's downfall. Because the other experiences he went through ended up having the opposite effect on TTJ's choice.

Or maybe this is just a plot point we're not supposed to think this hard on or one they intentionally left up for discussion 😂

😆 yes pretty much!! I actually thought her ending as Bingchang was handled pretty well narratively speaking. Her realization that her life was a self-fulfilling prophecy and the full circle of her eating the poisoned porridge. It would have been fine if they had left it there. Especially as Mo Nv wasn't even in the novel! & It's not even like she did much in that finale arc anyway.

Episode 20. But there is plenty of flirting and tension before then.

The fact that they bought Bingchang back through Mo Nv. . Its not that it didnt make sense. I get they were trying to give her some kind of redemption but it felt like an unnecessary addition to me 🤣

Yeah ive seen other people discuss that too. the idea that it was planned specifically when originally he died in the snow and devilised then and there. 😅 Everything that happened afterwards only happened after LSS went back.

When they were in the woods and TTJ was poisoned. The way he rested his head on her shoulder to be closer to her even though he was supposed to "hate" her. ❤

Sang Jiu and Ming Ye were very sad because it felt more final. 😔 I still like to think maybe they are together in a metaphysical sense after Ming Ye finally dissipates. if we are of the belief that energy mearly transforms into something else. 😅

Tantai Zimi was conceived when they slept together in episode 39. She was born a demi-goddess/immortal being. They dont age like humans. So at 500 years old she appears like a 5 year old. (In the novel Tantai Zimi is still a child 1,000 years later when she and Li Susu are reunited with a reborn Tantai Jin)

I would say it can be seen as both a sad and happy ending. The drama is open ended and implies that he may return at some point (as he does in the novel) his soul is cultivating and healing within the heart-guarding scale.

But we dont get to see it.... so yeah kind of a sad ending too. I came terms with it, but I understand why not everyone was satisfied.😅

There was an audio snippet youku released of their reunion though which was very sweet.

🤣 how can we choose when he spit up gallons of the stuff. All the blood spitting in the wedding scene sland the dungeon scene was pretty good and added to the drama of it all.

The blood spitting in the tower scene. The lightning punishment where he refuses to let her go was also good.

Although the original Ye Xiwu also seemed self-centered and selfish too, but we didn't get to see a lot of her. (part of me wishes we got to see a little more of her)

I'm assuming when the character "dies" she comes back with a different face (nobody will recognize her) I don't know for sure, but I believe she may swap places with the character played by Ju Jing Yi.

I absolutely adored unhinged obsessive TTJ. So basically most of the Jing arc. Porridge-gate and after YXW's death was obviously peak unhinged TTJ. LYX played it so well. He was both very sad and sympathetic and creepy at the same time. (While still looking absolutely gorgeous haha . 😅 )
