Novel readers can anyone spoil if there is any misunderstanding between ML and FL ?
In the novel there is no misunderstanding (just some missed opportunities) but considering how episode 1 went I think in the drama there is a misunderstanding about HY arriving late to save the general…
i guess they're almost equal but FL is hiding what She's really capable of bcz She's supposed to be a rookie Trainee…
At least in the book XJ taught HY the basis of her swordsmanship and then - in an actual fight between them - HY actually won against XJ (though because her sword was better and he only had a normal sword).
According to the novel when they return to the capital and He Yan starts to investigate He Rufei and get revenge.…
Nope, he was the sweetest. He felt terribly sorry that he didn’t recognise her before (when she was wearing a mask as HRF and when she was blind). He felt that he should have saved her but didn’t and he was happy that he finally recognised her this time.
Remember in the novel He Yan was reborn/transmigrated (and there was no delay to bring reinforcement to his dad like in the drama).
He will also play Yan Xun in Rebirth (more of a charismatic villain there), that will be exciting 😍
Yes! His character in Princess Agents (the prequel) was played by Shawn Dou and somewhat I can see why they would pick him. (I also have a soft spot for 🚩😂)
But I think it’s more that he’s intrigued by her: he recognises that she’s talented, she is friendly/cheeky but also has something to hide. The fact that she was left in the forest alone to save others makes her less likely to be a spy…
I think XJ wouldn’t want for such an interesting person to die so he wants to go save her himself 😉
According to the novel when they return to the capital and He Yan starts to investigate He Rufei and get revenge. XJ starts to have doubts from when they meet an old friend in a brothel but he pieces things together towards the last fourth of the novel. The drama is changing some of the key setup between HY and XJ (including when he discovered she’s a woman) so it might also change the discovery of HY as HRF.
I love how they made him stuttering in the drama - adds that element if being endearing that you see in the novel but they might not have had time to develop properly 🥰

Though there are men with great eyeliner…Duke Su I’m looking at you 🙄
And yes to suspension of disbelief to enjoy the show in general 😂
