Like you, I was hesitant at first to watch this show because I wasn't familiar with this type of genre either; however, I ended up LOVING this show despite its many flaws like the cheap CG and cringey fighting scenes. It's just THAT good. I can't guarantee you'll love this show just as much as many others do, but do give this a try.
