I rewatched the first few part of the special episode again and ZYC clearly said it's only been months and he still hadn't found ZYZ soul yet. Meaning, their conversation happened only after months had passed after the incident not years, and after that exact conversation they had he went to completely search for his soul in mountains and seas which took 3 years. Exactly just like you understood too.

Yeah that confused me to when you mentioned it, because I thought the same as you. ZYC searched for ZYZ soul for 3 years, regarding the age matter it must not have been international age but rather their lunar age, hence, even if it was just 3 years, ZYC is already 30 y.o in lunar year.

yep, their journey together as group of misfits is only one year. ZYZ got to experience such life for only a year or might even be barely a year.

But, chinese people also follow lunar age so in that 3 years he is already basically 30 y.o

From what I understood it has only been 3 years after the incident. There were no confirmation about it being 6 years.

Since the drama officially ended with a special episode, the ending could be considered to be open-ended, so rather than sad it is more of bittersweet. The ending does justice to the whole narrative of the drama.

and even if we say Wen Xiao and Zhao Yuanzhou could have just died together, that would still not be a 'happy ending' because what he dreams of is a peaceful and carefree life itself. Although it was fulfilled in the end, but it's so sad to see that he isn't part of it, like he didn't get to witness it all himself ...when the world is finally at peace and when there was no prejudice against him💔

right and the caption of that post didn't help either 💔
