Not even halfway through the episode and I have already cried as soon as I started to watch. The scene between Wen Xiao and Pei Sijing was just too heavy. The extreme amount of pain Wen Xiao had felt when she was so helpless and couldn't do anything but watch both her best friend and beloved die in front of her eyes is surely such a tormenting agony. Dying is definitely painful but I couldn't even imagine how much more the pain is when you are the one left behind. What is even worst is that you have to just be there and witness it all and not be able to do anything about it. I knew since the incident of the Baize Token being broken at Kunlun mountain, that Wen Xiao hates herself most, she even expressed it herself then. It really broke my heart to see her blaming her own self for being so weak that she had to watch everyone she cherishes in her life die in front of her. Everything weighed her down that her last resort is to kill herself and join them, had it not been for Pei Sijing's quick reflexes and her slapping Wen Xiao, she could have died already.

Wen Xiao is truly the pillar of the demon hunting team. She is the one that brings and holds them together. She stood as a reliable person and is always there to understand and support them. She is the most knowledgeable about life among them, and how she positively views life without discrimination but full acceptance for differences is what helped widen each of the members views towards each of their own differences. She thought that she had never been able to do anything to save the important people in her life, but what she doesn't know is that all this time she had been saving them with the way she is able to bring them comfort and warmth through her words. It was her that made Zhou Yichen live a colorful life again instead of being filled with emptiness. It was also because of her, Zhu Yan had found hope to live again. She might not be physically strong, but her ability to heal and soothe the wounds etched in the deepest corners of their heart is something more profound and stronger than any other power there is to exist.

A remarkable performance from both Chen Duling and Cheng Xiao. I must say their emotional scene today does not fall behind the emotional scene we got between Neo Hou and Tian Jia Ru yesterday. Both Chen Duling and Cheng Xiao truly delivered their emotions across the screen. To add, Cheng Xiao has really improved a lot with her acting.

The whole Bingyi and Yinglong backstory felt so short-lived. Zhu Yan's fate is exactly like Yinglong's, so is Zhou Yichen and Bingyi's fate. What saddened me most wasn't Yinglong sacrificing himself, but it was seeing Zhu Yan witness his fate right before his very own eyes. Even if we know he is willing to end his life if it meant to protect everyone, deep inside even Yinglong saw right through him, how it isn't what he truly wanted. Zhu Yan does want to live as much as he wanted to die.

I love how Wen Xiao expressed how upset she was before hugging Zhu Yan, it showed how much he really meant a lot to her. Can't they just give us a happy ending so this two can get married and live a peaceful life together. The whole Zhou Yichen inner core and teasing moment with Zhu Yan is definitely such a comedic relief. Love the laughter it gave me only to be sad again because it seems there is something wrong with Wen Xiao and the preview of Zhu Yan sacrificing his inner core again.

Like when are we ever going to catch a break from all this sadness and pain.
