I disagree with your comment about Bai Lu's character being poorly written in TTEOM. Her character is already strong and powerful and she had number of scenes where her character shined, I don't think that's poorly written at all. Atp whether FL character is strong or weak it easily equates to poorly written lol

Fangs of fortune hasn't even ended yet, and it is evident how we are headed for a sad ending. Honestly for me, the ending doesn't really matter that much as throughout these journey we had witnessed a lot of remarkable and praiseworthy scenes. So, I really do agree that this drama deserves all the praise it could get and each of the actors and actresses (mainly our demon hunting team) deserves recognition for their hard work. Come to think of it, the reason why I anticipated this drama is solely because of the trailer where I thought it gives off same vibes as mjty (which is one of my fave) but I didn't expect this to be so much more than the gloomy and dark vibes. Am not even a fan of any of the actors or actresses, but I am definitely turning into one after seeing their performances (most especially Neo Hou, he really stood out as Zhu Yan).

- the scene between Wen Xiao and Zhu Yan in episode 23 has been lingering and living in my mind rent-free. they ate that scene alone and their dialogues were chef's kiss! (not to forget the 300 years Wen Xiao sundial scene)
- the scene when Zhu Yan went on a seclusion and was having a conversation with Evil Zhu Yan, then we got to see his dream <3 beautiful!

this happens in every single drama we watch regardless of how the fl character is written and most of the negativity comes from fellow women too! I agree with acid mana's comment below! plus FL characters will always be the punching bag regardless if she was present or not in a scene!

you should watch Dudu there, she's a very convincing villain like I was annoyed with her character to the core because I love Bai Lu 🤣

I couldn't agree more with everything you have said. Your comment spoke my exact thoughts. It's always been the case for female characters regardless if they are well-written or not. A double-standard will constantly exist. Having a different opinion about the female leads character is okay, but the constant negativity (to the point of mockery) on daily basis is really off-putting to see. I am not even a fan of FL, only knew her through TTEOM and have come to like her character here, but I have constantly been feeling the strong opposition. Often, it doesn't sound like a criticism but plain nitpicking.

I share the same sentiments even if there are times that this comment section does get kinda negative/toxic, I like how there are still a lot of mdl users who spreads positivity therefore, such things gets buried away.

Well said! 👏I do agree that this drama is male-centric and does give off some BL or Sismance vibe since all the actors have chemistry together but for me, I have always felt that the romantic tension is much stronger between the few scenes we have seen of Wen Xiao and Zhu Yan. The almost kiss between them hasn't even left the back of my head and is constantly replaying. Their chemistry is on a different level imo, which is why I have never seen Wen Xiao as a character created just for the sake of censorship in the first place because Dudu and Neo's scenes together truly standout the most.

Their romance leans more to slow burn rather than stagnant. Yes. There is progress in terms of their romantic feelings but there is not much yet in terms of skinships.

They are not blood related. Wen Xiao is adopted by her foster father who stood like a grandfather for Zhou Yichen, hence she became his aunt, this is what I understood base on their family structure.
