I would've liked that ending too and consider it semi-happy ending because atleast both of them died together, Zhu Yan wouldn't be so lonely when he already spent most his life in loneliness. But then again, Zhu Yan wouldn't have any reasons to die for, because the ever-burning wood that causes him to go on a rampage had been removed from his body. Hence, his death now were for 2 greater causes: 1) to save his love one, 2) to save the people from being demonized. Zhu Yan's been the vessel for malicious energy and as he explained, the power of the Baize Token can only be maximized with the existence of a stronger malicious energy, and Wen Xiao's tears were also a form of power that could clear evilness. The Baize Tokens power inherently co-exist with the malicious energy as it serves its purpose to control it only when it becomes stronger, otherwise without it, it weakens. So, if Wen Xiao died too, there would be no one to use the maximized Baize Tokens power and Zhu Yan's death would be sort of wasted then. The ending we got now stuck with the whole narrative of the storyline which is Yinglong & Zhu Yan's shared tragic fate. Yinglong turned into stars to bring brightness to the world, Zhu Yan turned into rain with the help of the Baize token's power to bring pureness and clear evilness.

I literally poured my heart in this, really loved FOF too much 😭✨️

It took me a while to write a review for this drama, as I felt so empty when it ended. Finally, I managed to accomplish it. I'm the type of user who rarely writes reviews on dramas unless they had impressed me on a different level, hence, writing a review for a drama is quite of a big deal for me. FOF is that drama for me that I thought was worth writing one for.

It's really the end. This drama has been a relatively enjoyable experience for me but what made that experience even better is the engagements through this comment section. That being said, I had a very fun and insightful journey and feel really happy to have been able to interact here since day one to end 💖

the power of the baize token came from the existence of the malicious energy, they are two inseparable energies that are meant to co-exist, without the malicious energy the baize token's power decreases. so, basically the main purpose of the baize token is to put balance if the malicious energy becomes overly powerful, its powers can only be activated to its full extent if such case happens.

he absorbed it while he died in her arms, specifically during the time when the malicious energy of Zhu Yan encircled them both, if you look at WX chest there's a black energy that escaped from her which indicates the poison escaping her body.

The love story between Wen Xiao and Zhao Yuanzhou is like a swing. It moves subtly whenever the wind blows on it gently. When faced with storms that carries along harsh winds, it faces it all with the ropes tightly holding it together. Their love is calm and brave but it is also so strong that it'll always be there no matter what 🤍
