I haven't detected anything choppy so far as it is a 1990s coded drama. this is a 10/10 series.
That's awesome that you didn't notice it. I had a really hard time following since they placed a lot of random scenes in without explanation. As a viewer, I find it difficult to follow.
For example, right after the FL noticed that the ML doesn't like anything to do with electricity. We then started to see scenes of the dad abusing the ML. Was this something that FL witnessed in the past? Was this something she saw in the future? What was she doing before she saw the abuse, and what did she do after? What did ML do that the dad thinks that he needed to be abused? We don't know.
The censoring of the dad abusing ML doesn't help this drama much either.
And they do this multiple times through out the few episodes that are out. Usually, I don't mind such things like this as much, but a lot of these events are the explanation/ build up to the plot. The main couple would build off their relationship based on what they witness the other person goes through.
I'm not trying to blame the team too much since I am sure they needed to cut some stuff just to fit the drama into 32 episodes, but I just wished the part the cut wasn't the beginning.
Loving the drama so far, although I think the editing and transitioning could have been better. It felt kind of choppy, which took away from the viewing experience. Hopefully, it gets better in the upcoming episodes.
I have a random question... I was just looking at the ages of the actors in the drama and saw that there is a…
Definitely! I think you and the comment above both made a valid point. It depends on the fandom's mentality and how big they are (a bigger fandom will make more noise).
Also, I think the main point is exactly what you pointed out. It just depends on how mature/ baby face the MLs are to each other and how visually they both are together.
Dilraba looks more mature and carries a more mature vibes, while CFY has a more baby face and carries a more youthful vibes, so some people will mind and say that they don't look good together. CDL has a more youthful look and matches with ZYR even though their age gap is similar to Dilraba and CFY.
All in all, it's just a matter of personal preferences and the toxicity of the fandoms.
It's highly likely. I saw clips on X/twitter from the beginning of the first episode they showed the academy and…
Yes, and also with today's release. ML said there shouldn't be monkeys if there were a lot of people around but FL said there were many to the point they even bit her.
Trailer was so good I ended up reading and finishing the novel. Hopefully, they changed the LN's personality a little bit in the drama because his novel character was not it
do you remember who Han Liao is?? Just curious since it's been a long time since DGZ has been in a historical!
I had to go through memory lane to remember him, but from what I remember, he was a creep. He was described as someone lustful. I forgot his age but I would said he was in his mid to late 20s. He had a bunch of concubines and kids but still wanted to marry WR. WR didn't spare him a glance. He couldn't have WR so he ended up marrying WR's cousin (because WR and her cousin look very similar, so much so that people said they look like twins/sisters). HL treated WR's sister like crap and was controlling. They later ended up getting a divorce.
Okay, someone who has read the novel please tell me if my man Wang Duo is going to be a villain or in love with…
He only showed up 3 times with FL after they became adult.
1. When he and FL met again 2. When he and FL went out to catch up 3. At the airport, when he said bye to FL
I hoped they wouldn't change his character too much in the drama since I quite like him in the novel. He wasn't a villain, but just that he and ML were put into unfortunate circumstances.
Wdym 1 person?in novel fml had split personality or what?
No, I should have clarified, in the novel, WR was one person, one personality. While in the drama, the name WR is shared between two people - the real WR and the FL, who takes over her name to marry the ML.
WR in the novel was really strong-headed. She met the ML a few times but didn't really like him. When he was in a coma, she still chose to marry him because she had a really good reason to.
Making someone take over WR's identity to marry ML kind of defeats the purpose of her reason for marrying him in the novel. But since the drama has already changed a lot of the plot, I just hope they play their cards right and give us a really good reason for FL to take over WR's identity and marry ML.
Kind of sad that they made WR two people in the drama since I liked her (as 1 person) in the book. Hopefully, they keep most of her personalities and remain true to her character
