Yeah that got me curious too because why was the other salt trader trying to fight for it? Maybe it is some sort of pass? But I thought that selling and trading ground salt was illegal. Lol people are too busy arguing about screen time when it should be used to discuss the plot instead because there's a lot going on with ML. Lots of questions yet to be answered

I have seen FL in Eight Hundred and have seen DYX in multiple dramas before. DYX, to me, is quite special in the sense that he really knows how to pick his dramas. He is really good at picking dramas that he knows he can play well and can make his character shine. I feel that all fans should trust the actors and actresses and the work that they pick. We will see his character more in the future, so viewers and fans just need to be a little more patient.

Can any currently watcher say how they are liking this drama? I'm debating if I should start it. All I have been seeing is articles saying HYT is too old to be playing a high school, and tbh I didn't think so until I saw clips of him standing next to SML, and you can see a difference.

Does that impact the viewing experience for anyone here?

Literally! I don't think his screen time was as bad as what some of the comments here are saying. He shows up when he is needed, and as someone who is supposed to escort her to the capital, we will definitely see him more in the upcoming episodes. I'm all for advocating for certain actors/actress as we know how brutal the entertainment industry and fans/viewers have the right to be mad when something promised isn't being delivered but in this case, but why would a certain character show up when they are not needed? I think the drama right now is doing pretty great, laying out the foundation for the rest of the plot. It is a drama focusing on the FL and her way to take revenge, so we need to know the event that happened and who she's dealing with.

Lol, speaking of The Double some of the commenters here will pass out when they find out that there were some episodes in that drama where we only saw the ML once or twice, and he only showed up for a couple of minutes.

I wonder how he will become official since I can't imagine how that will come to be. Don't think it will be smooth sailing seeing seeing the way ML is now

Literally! Yes, I understand that historical dramas have been male-focused, but in recent years there have been many female-focused dramas as well.. With the popularity of reverse harem, we will just continue to get more FL-centered dramas.

Reading all these comments and I go into the drama not expecting ML to show up at all but he actually showed up quite often. He shows up when his character is supposed to and don't when his character is not needed. As the story revolves around the FL, it is expected that we open the drama with more screen time to her/ her side of the family. How else are we supposed to learn their family dynamics? There are only 4 episodes so far, and we will definitely see more of ML later on. If we still don't, that is when we should be concerned.

Ok, that's what I thought. I remember trying to read the novel and skipping to the temple part, but I wasn't sure if that was the first time they met since it was way later in the novel. I just figured they met a lot earlier in the novel, but good to know that I was correct.

Can any novel readers explain how ML and FL get to know and meet each other? I tried reading the book but there were too many names that I couldn't keep up with

Ok, so I finally started the book since I was bored. I'm not sure if you've learned more about the book since then, but if you haven't, here's a rundown of the plot (please beware: I am only halfway through the book, so a lot of stuff isn't revealed yet).

Plot:

FL and ML's families are enemies. FL's mom used to date ML's dad, but ML's grandma hates FL's mom. Something happened, and ML's dad ends up killing both ML's mom and sister.

FL and ML both knew each other since they were kids. FL is taught to hate ML because of what happened, and she does. In middle school, they get to know each other and start dating behind their families' backs. Something happened, and ML almost ends up getting FL injured (they haven't revealed what it is yet in the chapter that I am on). The whole time they were dating, they were very on and off, with FL breaking up with ML multiple times.

Honestly, I am planning to drop the book. I find it quite dull and slow, and at this point I stopped caring about what the past events were. I find FL selfish and fake. She treats everyone well except for ML. She constantly says words that will purposely hurt him and pushes him away. They always meet in secret because she's afraid someone will see them and snitch to her parents. FL went through some stuff, but that does not justify how she keeps pushing ML away. ML isn't too great either. He is spineless and lets FL treat him however she wants. As long as she says the word, he will always come back to her. At this point, I don't even want them to end up together. Lol I have no idea what they even see in each other.

I came for CDL, but this isn't usually the type of plot I am into, so I might skip this whole drama altogether. I recommend you read the book if you are bored and want to pass the time.

Sounds rough but yeah that's too much for me right now. Props to you all for being brave and continuing through this drama despite all of these topics

Yeah, the novel is pretty short. Lol I think that is why I was able to get through it.

From the summary, they already changed a lot of stuff. FL never really worked; she was a student. She took odd jobs here and there just to earn enough to buy medicine for her mother. There was no attempted assassination. She tried not to interact with the ML much and when she did she was always respectful but never tried to lead him on.

Definitely should just wait for the drama! I wouldn't recommend reading the novel unless you are really bored.
