Perhaps it’s not to your taste? That’s ok. I don’t think there’s much to explain. I find the story interesting, but then I’m used to omegaverse, but I had not encountered an Enigma storyline so that’s been fun for me. The biggest criticism I have for this series is that omegaverse is meant to be a no holds barred sexual setting, so China’s censorship does a disservice to that, but I’m still enjoying what we’re able to get with those limitations. I wish you better luck in the future finding a series you enjoy.

I understand what you mean about the hormones and heat, but that’s just the dynamic of omegaverse which is not to everyone’s taste. Imagine an alien race that chooses their mate purely by logic. They would probably be weirded out by us humans choosing our mates partly based on the chemicals our body produces which include oxytocin, seratonin, norepinephrine, dopamine, epinephrine, cortisol etc. They would probably call it dub-con, but that’s just the way humans are. The omegaverse is an extreme version of that, they are not humans so they know how to function in their own universe.

That's kind of a plot hole in the universe because they make it seem like before kids present there's no way to know what they are, but if it was purely the blood type they could test it. My head canon to explain it is that the blood type changes when they present.

In the novel its does not happen this time. A while later SSY has his first rut after being marked which makes him really needy and desperate for HY, they're about to do it when HY reaches for the condoms and finds it empty, he's about to call his secretary to buy more but SSY is too impatient and tells him either do it or go.
