Please put your comment as a spoiler! 1. Totally agree and yea it's probably part of his plan somehow to get back…
1. Agreed.
2/3. I do see what you're saying. With all of his bts schemes its hard to trust him; even Fan Xian himself doesn't trust him anymore near the end. But I still would like to believe that Chen Pingping cares about Fan Xian possibly more than anything else and that he is just doing all this as another way to protect Fan Xian and himself too because he has to show the emperor that he is the most loyal. And yea I don't understand why he let the second prince do all that since he himself hates Qi to the core. In that case it wouldn't make sense that he supports the second prince right?

I guess we'll have to wait and see....

Title Joy of Life Spoiler
This is my guesses about Joy of Life season 2. Would like to share to everyone who is also curious like me,1.…
Please put your comment as a spoiler!
1. Totally agree and yea it's probably part of his plan somehow to get back at the second prince.
2. I remember earlier Fan Jian (Fan Xian's father) and Chen Pingping had a conversation and Fan Jian asked him if there was ever to be a case where he had to choose between the kingdom and Fan Xian's life, which would he choose. Chen Pingping did not give a direct answer which tells me that even though he appears to be the most loyal person to the kingdom, he hides the fact that he cares very much about Fan Xian's well being (probs because of his mother). Remember that the emperor also sent a spy to listen in on this conversation probably to test Chen Pingping's loyalty.
3. I disagree because from the way he talks/thinks about her it seems like to me that he really cared about her. Also the drama started off with Wu Zhu escaping somewhere with baby Fan Xian and Chen Pingping was the one who wanted to protect Fan Xian at all costs.

Heyyy... I made a completely bizzare decision for a while there and shut off from MDL until I watched the drama…
2ha has nothing to do with this drama loool. I think it was mentioned because there wasn't a MDL page for it yet. It's an upcoming adaptation of another BL novel called 2ha. It now has a MDL page https://kisskh.at/54501-hao-yi-xing

So, since it's a trilogy... Does season 1 end with a cliffhanger or an incomplete ending or something like that?…
I would say it ends as a "visual" cliffhanger but based on what we understand about the characters while watching I would say you can maybe guess what *actually* happens in the end...? But besides the ending scene itself as a cliffhanger there are many other unanswered questions that do not get resolved.

Not sure how this show together with the untamed got such high rating, I find the storyline so so, nothing to…
I don't think The Untamed should be discussed together with this one because both are so different in many ways. For me, it was the opposite from what you said because I was pulled into Joy of Life from the very start because of the brilliant acting and interesting storyline, certainly not because of the "idols" (Although I admit I trusted Zhang Ruo Yun's acting so that's why I started watching but ultimately it was the story that kept me going).
As for The Untamed, both Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo were pretty much unknown in the acting industry and had a much smaller fanbase before The Untamed, so I doubt that people started that drama because of them. I would say the popularity of The Untamed mostly came from the large novel fanbase and stayed popular because the drama was indeed a good depiction of the original story.
I do agree with you that it is common for many fans to watch dramas just to support their idols but there are some cases like Joy of Life where the drama itself is not considered an "idol drama". Just my thoughts on everything :)

hate to be that person but how's the romance in this drama?
Very little. Li Qin plays a lead role but her scenes are much less compared to some supporting roles.

I agree that this is a more maturely developed drama which makes it better than The Untamed in some ways. But like other people said I don't think they should be compared. I don't even know why The Untamed is listed as a recommendation.

Hmm...I would say "romance" and "love" are already very similar words. I can't think of a word that specifically means "romance" in Chinese so I assume that 爱情 is used for both. The phrase 爱情小说 also works too. Thinking about it further I actually think 爱情小说 is used more commonly than 浪漫小说 to talk about a love story or romance

Nope
The drama showed all the main plots that were written in the original novel so there would be no point doing a S2 unless they make up a whole new plot. Plus I think the ending is very beautiful and even if it doesn't show them together I think it was implied

There are so many comments like this one that I suggest you maybe look into other people's answers down below (but there are so many comments so I dont blame you if you dont want to scroll so much). All I will say on the BL is that if no one told you this was based on a BL you wouldn't even know just from watching the show

Zhou Shen (younger guy) and Hacken Li (Chinese name: Li Ke Qin). I think despite Xiao Zhan's popularity, this group is the most loved by viewers. Being a Xiao Zhan fan I am obviously somewhat biased towards him but I have to admit that this group has the best quality singing overall.

I'm thinking on watching this drama. But first, can someone explain the time travel tag? The synopsis doesn't…
In the drama the protagonist doesn't actually time travel but the story is set up so that the protagonist is a modern person who's writing a story about a person who is born into a historical setting while preserving a modern mind. In other words the drama is a story about a story of a person who "time-travels". I haven't read the actual novel yet but I assume in that version the person actually time travels. But because the time-travel ban in China they have to do it this way
