From when this season started airing in July all the way until now I FINALLY dragged myself all the way through. I rated season one high but this one doesn't come near. The only compelling parts for me were the emotional brother-sister scenes thanks to the phenomenal acting from Zhang Wanyi and Yang Zi. And of course, the character Xiang Liu and Tan Jianci's portrayal of him was perfection. He may come off as my favorite cdrama character so far.
Congrats to Poppin C he truly deserves the win! Such a humble and kind person, loved seeing his interactions with his fellow dancers in prior seasons, and I feel happy that he gets the recognition that he deserves.
Just randomly remembered that there were supposed to be scenes with the leads in ancient Chinese costumes, did those scenes get criminally cut out????? D:
Finally caught up! I've already made several comments complaining about stuff I didn't like so I won't repeat…
Came back to praise Tan Jianci lol. They could not have casted a better actor to play his role. He has the looks, the voice, the facial expressions, and the maturity that is all needed for his character, and he executed every scene so perfectly!!!
Finally caught up! I've already made several comments complaining about stuff I didn't like so I won't repeat lol. But my immediate thought after completing it was I really really wished the entire drama was way shorter, maybe max 25 episodes. After awhile the entire thing just became fluff-eat-repeat, so ultimately I got kinda bored. But don't get me wrong, one of the things I did like about the drama was the main cp relationship wasn't rushed, so if they found a way to shorten the drama without shortening the pace of the relationship I maybe would've liked it more. Loved both Tan Jianci's and Zhou Ye's portrayal of their characters, but I didn't like the characters themselves (nothing on the actors here). The last thing I want to say is I'm hoping we will get the extended version of the song that Qiang Qingci sang in "four songs of the masters"!! π₯Ί
Don't tell me he only get one antidote per city?? And he had taken one in Capital of An i think... means they…
Yea I'm assuming 10 days have passed already...and even if 10 days haven't passed what's wrong with getting it ahead of time considering the circumstances -_-
Hoping for the rescue mission to succeed tomorrow without fatalities, but if there is anything that will ruin the mission it will either be 1) the stupid Wu emperor himself or 2) Ning Yuanzhou foolishly not doing anything about his poison???? Why can't he take the medicine ahead of time if he knows he will have such an important mission coming up...By sabotaging himself he sabotages the entire team.
13 being a playboy feels like foreshadowing to me that he might be a tragic character. He has proven many times that he is a deeply emotional character behind his playful persona, and he is probably keeping this mask because he is just expecting a tragic ending for himself, so he doesn't want to give any girl the chance to hope for a future with him. I know in the trailer he injured his eyes, but I hope that's the extent of his tragedy :(
I'm one of the people that sees it as unrealistic, lemme explain lol. Your comment did get me thinking a bit tbh.…
Just like for me, there is also tons of speculation in your analysis, so none of us really know. Thanks for your input and thanks for respecting my pov. But you bring up a good point, that even Mo Qingcheng himself will eventually find it hard to balance out both commitments and quit the side hustle (putting as a spoiler), which just goes to show how leading such a busy life is difficult for anyone

Yea the current state of the company is like that but what about the early years when they started from scratch? Iβm sure none of them had any type of help back then, so he still had to put in tremendous effort to get the company to the place it is now. Plus, he is a surgeon, so he also had to go through years of intense medical training during that time in addition to building up his company. So all in all, my point is his accomplishments are incredibly difficult and rare, making it unrealistic imo.
People keep saying this drama is unrealisitc. He is a doctor, does voice acting and cooks well. How is that different…
I'm one of the people that sees it as unrealistic, lemme explain lol. Your comment did get me thinking a bit tbh. True, Tan Jianci himself leads just as busy of a life, but the big difference is he is a public figure, and he has tons of resources to guide him through his busy life (his manager, his assistants, etc). On the other hand, Mo Qingcheng is just an ordinary person who has gotten to that point in his life mostly on his own. Being a doctor is probably a whole different type of busy than being an actor (especially considering he's a surgeon). Additionally he is a co founder of his voice acting company and probably takes on some of the business admin stuff (none of which is shown on screen and is all taken for granted). Don't get me wrong, I agree with you that it's nice to have these types of comfort dramas and I am still enjoying it regardless.
Is it just me or has anyone else noticed how Liu Yuning is kinda doing body rolls when he is riding a horse at walking speed LOL I noticed it once and never unnoticed it. Only when the horse is at walking speed though, not galloping. Weirdly kinda hot...
πππThe beautiful thing about a forum like this is that you can say what's on your mind. I was surprised…
It's fine for me if he overpampers her because that's from his perspective, but it's not fine for me if she lets him do that and take it almost as granted... It would've been nice to see her pamper him too, and I hope maybe we will see more of this deeper in their relationship bc it's understandable she may be less forward at the start of the relationship. I might be taking this too seriously though bc Mo Qingcheng himself is happy to do all this haha
Picked this drama up solely because of Tan Jianci, and his scenes are still what I look forward to the most, especially when he is using his voice (what a multi-talented king). Idk if I'm too picky but the voice of Shengsheng just doesn't move me the way it probably intended to. Like I find the voice too mundane and a bit childish, probably because of how high pitched it is. Even Zhou ye's own voice isn't that high, so it kinda brings me out of the drama when she sings.
I had already previously complained about how the character Mo Qingcheng is just way too perfect. Similarly, Gu Sheng also leads a lifestyle too perfect for my liking. Yes, she grew up with family members all doting on her, but I dislike how she also brings this into her romantic relationship. For example, in 19 on the bamboo boat when she passed her cup to Mo Qingcheng intending for him to put it down on the table for her. He thought she wanted him to have a taste, which is probably the more logical response. Girl, I know you're drunk but the table is right in front of you. Some might see this gesture romantic, likely Mo Qingcheng himself is more than happy to be the service boyfriend, but in my eyes it kinda screams "spoiled" :/
Ok I KNOW this is a fluff drama, it's supposed to be all unrealistic fluff π . Sigh, maybe I'm just bitter that I'm single
