I don't count it as break up. But I think the fake break up thing was necessary to prevent Mr. Gao from exposing…
I guess that was the logic, but to me it's not totally realistic. I mean I guess it is a drama so to some degree it can't be realistic. Even if the public finds out that her father died by suicide, that's not necessarily something that would lead to bad opinions about her, it's not like she did anything wrong. I would imagine she would get praises for being a doctor with such a sad family background, saving lives.

Yea I wouldn't count it as a break up either because it was just an act but I also didn't really see how exposing Ye Shilan's background would help Gao obtain his goal of dethroning Lu Zhaoxi from his position, so I was hoping they would solve this issue in a different way than they did
I'm not sure how I feel about episodes 22 and 23. I definitely saw the breakup coming, and based on the entire vibe of the drama so far I guessed that they would do some sort of fake break up thing like they did. I do appreciate that the show let the audience know it was fake, and instead of hiding it from the female character, as most dramas portray it, they hid it from the male character, which was a funny twist lol. I do wish the drama could've come up with a different way to deal with Vice President Gao instead of going the break up route. Though of course I don't have any good ideas. I'm also a bit confused on what exactly the CEO's plan was and what evidence did they obtain that proved the vice president wrong? I feel like they could have took more time to explain these details.
Ye Shilan is right, Lu Zhaoxi's parents really did raise him well. For someone like him who treats everyone around him with due respect and patience, who is humble yet exudes confidence, I believe that it takes good parental role models for that and it's not easy either. His character really is the embodiment of the kind of person I long to be.
The guy who harassed Meng Meng: what was the significance of showing the picture of his daughter at the end? I guess it shows the similarities between him and Meng Meng's parents, where all of them lost a daughter. Their outcomes turn out to be the same but for very drastic reasons.
Not sure if this counts as a spoiler but just in case... The performance by the actress that plays Tao Ying Hong is probably the best I've ever seen. Super super impressed. Facial expressions on point. Also, this drama has successfully conditioned me to not like Pachelbel's canon anymore....
Liu Feng. Remembered him because he's Liu Ran's brother. That part was indeed a bit... off. Good thing they killed…
I was fine with Siyue getting killed off, but I wasn't fine with Liu Feng killing her. I was so disgusted by him the entire time and to have such an amazing character get killed off just like that??? Nonoonoonoooo And yea!! Yao Niang has to be one of the coolest characters
Great story, great drama with so many plot twists and character reveals (Yao Niang?!?!) but Siyue's death ruined it a bit for me. The guy who accidentally killed her (forgot his name bc I couldn't have cared less) added absolutely nothing to the show... Btw, any guesses or theories for who Gao Bingzhu's sister is? I was waiting the whole time for them to reveal it but I guess it's a mystery? My guess was An Bai Tan bc their names were similar
Does anyone know if the clans are all immortals? I've seen a couple of other xianxia where the characters are…
In other Xianxia dramas there are immortals and you do see them living in the Heavenly realm (example: Ten Miles of Peach blossoms). In this Xianxia there are no immortal characters and the story does take place in the mortal realm. It is still categorized as Xianxia because cultivation is being practiced, which is the process of reaching immortality.
Just finished the last episode and I'm kinda sad that it's over and also sad that the entire story felt very rushed.…
I would understand if the ban led to them toning down on the Wangxian stuff, but on the contrary, I don't feel like they toned down Wangxian at all. Besides the rushed drunk scenes at the very end, everything else was pretty satisfactory for me in terms of them. But the Jiang Cheng stuff and other plot development stuff have nothing to do with "danmei" so I don't understand why they were poorly executed.

Right?! It left me feeling so bad for him because to me portraying the scene like that would make people misunderstand him even more. They added many good Wangxian (esp Lan Wangji) moments, but I agree that it didn't cover up how much they messed his part up.

Just finished the last episode and I'm kinda sad that it's over and also sad that the entire story felt very rushed. I understand there is only so much an animation could do, but I felt that they could've portrayed some of the scenes in a better way. For example, why tf did they put the core reveal AFTER the Guanyin scene? That just makes no sense regarding Jiang Cheng's character development. I also felt so bad for Jiang Cheng at the end because they made it seem like there wasn't ever a hope of him and Wei Wuxian reconciling with how much they put him in an almost antagonistic position opposite Wangxian. Also the way Wei Wuxian found out about Sizhui was so anticlimactic and lost its emotionality. Lastly Lan Xichen just suddenly decides to tell Wei Wuxian about Lan Wangji's scars was very OOC to me... Sigh, one thing I liked about the series was the bgm though, it felt like I was watching something on big screen
