Is this a masterpiece? No, but still it accomplishes its own level of manga-inspired brilliance that seems to get better every week. It feels like a live-action manga, which I imagine is hard to pull off.
The mains are not traditionally handsome studs, but still they’re both sexy in a very comical and authentic way.
For me, it’s a sleeper series and a solid gem - and a reminder to take MDL ratings with a grain of salt.
I hope you're taking into cognition that the abuse began when Akira was in middle school. He was most likely not…
exactly! Where I grew up “middle school” was 7-8th grade - and I was 13 when I finished 8th. Perhaps if they cast an actually 13 year old in the role it would hit home for viewers. But, as you say, he would have been 15 at most.
I think the general concept has potential, but they’re so melancholy! Despite the great looks all around, they look miserable, stressed out, insecure, drained and lifeless. Is this really how South Koreans speak and act? I’ll stick around for now because it’s short, but I’m hoping they discover joy, dignity, and a brighter outlook in the next 2 episodes.
I was distracted by their 👄 - not in a good way. Can we just have normal guys lips? And apparently, enhanced juicy lips and lots of French kissing (and more) can’t make up for weak storytelling — who knew! In any case, I thought it was a decent start for our two new actors.
When a show begs more questions than it answers — it’s inevitable that viewers will be left unsatisfied on some level. Loved the cast and wish they had a better script to work with.
