This show is filled with criminal behavior and morally gray characters - and if that's not your jam you may not want to continue. However, the relationships are deeply complicated and the story is amazingly well written, produced and acted - thus the high rating.

Yeah - every script has it's weakness - and the resolution of that plotline was it. It didn't work for me either.
It would have worked much better - and fit more organically with the overall show if they handled it with some an earned resolution and some comedy. For instance, they still could have had Aran jump in to save Tawan, but then tell him - oh no I'm not letting you off that easy - your going to have to earn you way back.

Thank! I had the same reaction - surprised he went with it! The funny part is Pheem jumped through hoops to get one of those Jira kisses, and all Koh had to do was take his shirt off, lay back and cast his spell. 😂 Jira was literally speechless.
Seeing Choi Jae Hyeok in Ball Boy Tactics reminded me of the first time I saw Bae In Hyuk in XX. I thought - wow this guy's presence and magnetism is off the charts. I'll add a little bit more context from the novel. After the bathtub sex with Fan Xiao, You Shulang was feeling particularly vulnerable. So, he called his friend President Shi to ask her to hook him up with someone. He was afraid that if he didn't at least try to see someone else, he'd cave and go back to Fan Xiao.
So, You Shulang and Lu Bowen did actually date - though there was no particular mention of sex. On New Years eve while they were watching the fireworks from their balcony, Lu Bowen asked to kiss and they did. And it mentioned You Shulang thought Fan Xiao probably was watching.
