Wow—Surf is one gorgeous man! And Java is a cutie! Their acting was great, and that first surprising kiss was the bomb!

Surf was on camera nearly the entire series and he managed to keep the laughs and the energy going to the end.

The 9 temple tour was very entertaining, and the antics with the monks were hilarious. Plus, the graphics were simple but very on point. To the graphic artist—I loved them!

I'd love to see Surf in a more serious costume drama role someday like IFYLITA.

Great recap! I felt the same way about all your points—so much so that I initially gave it a luke warm rating. But, the story overall and a few captivating characters really lingered with me. And much to my surprise, I actually went back and watched the whole thing again! I still feel there were lots of plot holes, amazingly unrealistic coincidences, etc., but it was zippy and overall great storytelling with impressive cinematography and great acting from the leads.

Even though it does have a similar fantasy element, I highly recommend Story of Kunning Palace - it's an amazing story filled with palace intrique, interesting characters, a strong intelligent FL, and an epic romance.

My favorite aspect of this series? Toma's eyes and the way he looks at his lover. I hope everyone has someone that looks at them that way! ❤️

I think the reasons this has not been released are likely more complicated than we imagine. Hopefully someday we will at least get the full story.

Interesting concept—though not the least bit original. Just okay acting from everyone, with the best from Yang Jaeu as Taeu (not listed in cast). The execution was poor in almost every aspect, but it was short enough to still be modestly enjoyable. I'd be happy to see all the actors again in something better (especially Yang Taeu), but this wasn't it.

Great job insulting "everyone" on MDL for having an opinion that differs from yours.

Viewers sharing their opinions about shows don't bother me in the least. People spending their valuable time to critisize others for sharing their opinions (in multiple paragraphs) are the worst.

That's a very good/interesting question. I'd love to see poll results of the audience broken down by gender and orientation. My general guess is that the audience for BL and GL is somewhat different.

Personally I'd prefer they be separate, however, when they're mixed the woman tend to be written in a more positive light. I don't really care for the evil female trope in older BLs.
