Yes, from an acting perspective they both delivered in spades!

I had a similar response. Their actual age is completely irrelevant to me - its the age they appear to be and act on-screen. Fan Xiao - to me - from the way he acted and dressed appeared to be near 30. You Shulang appeared - to me - from the way he acted and looked to be about 40. So that was a bit in conflict with the story. Add to that, You Shulang did appear to have had plastic surgery - again something that would not be consistent with his character. So, that was the only weakness I had with this show. All that being said, I still gave this show a 10 because all the other elements were outstanding - the acting, directing and script. Then the cherry on top for me - that bumped it from say a 9 to a 10 - was that the series was so unique! So, I'd try to just write off this issue and enjoy everything else - it really is so well done.

I'll add a little bit more context from the novel. After the bathtub sex with Fan Xiao, You Shulang was feeling particularly vulnerable. So, he called his friend President Shi to ask her to hook him up with someone. He was afraid that if he didn't at least try to see someone else, he'd cave and go back to Fan Xiao.

It's a bittersweet story filled with pain and pleasure. And it's a story about the perils of strong attachment that - not so ironically - we became attached to! Storytelling at its best.

I'd never seen Li Yun Rui before and he really makes this drama - he's outstanding - especially in the first quarter (I'm 24 episodes in right now). Whoever put him in a hooded cape is a genius.

It's assumed that some of the extra chapters will be used for the special episodes they recently announced.

They also have a completely different production style so the sets can be very noisy and there can be vocal direction during the actual taping. So literally every sound you hear in the final edit has been added - room tone, steps, background noise, etc. It was very weird to me at first, but I got used to it - plus the whole sound editing had gotten better over time and more and more actors dub themselves now.

He's actually providing security because he fears his family and others may exact some revenge. Plus, he wants to make sure he's doing okay - okay thats a bit stalky but well intended.

I guess it might be akin to a gay relationship in the west where the younger calls the older daddy - some might like it, some might not. You Shu clearly did not. 😂

Great - and while the romance is somewhat slow the plot is pretty zippy - lots of action in every episode.

Yea that was a powerful moment - first he was blown away the You Shu actually called him, then he was filled with regret at missing the opportunity to receive the call, then he was astonished that You Shu would actually put himself in danger to help him. All of that was followed with a painful and emotional response that he was the cause - even now - for You Shu to experience so much suffering - even after doing so much to protect him from harm.

So far this will end up as the second BL 10 on my list. Storytelling at it's best - combined with the rare trifecta - great acting, strong directing and a great script.

Revenged Love was ready to come up and receive their award - and To My Shore said - now wait just a damn minute.
