same here. it’s the best one for me in 2024.

out of so many (costumes) cdrama this year; none could top this drama. the feels it gave me, the depression it left me with. it lived rent-free in my mind and beautifully carved in my heart.

hahaha ikr. for me, now i got a different tune other than wen xiao calling for ‘zhao yuanzhou, zhao yuanzhou..” in fang of fortune. these FLs called for their respective MLs truly become almost as a chant to me.

gonna say this again (perhaps for the last time);

blossom is a story of rebirth done right. as many had already stated with all the details; it’s just come to me how beautiful it is where the story begins with FL try to avoid making the same decisions as in her past life. here, she’s been working hard to undo the cruel fate befallen to her and the guy who shared the same fate with her. beautiful and mesmering how the script unfolds not only the details how most of the particular events— almost happened as it did in the past and came this magic power of dou zhao trying to change them as best as she could to prevent it from happening the way it did in the past.

she’s not just changing the fate of her life— making it more better and thrive with all these achievements as a businesswoman. she also changed the trajectory of song mo’s life (from possibility of going feral and rampant). she again and again let her determination, her will power and the knowledges of the past life used to its potential. Dou Zhao, undoubtedly, the best FL-character of this year. and the man behind her supporting every steps she take, surely none other than Song Mo. standing ovation for these two— Meng Ziyi & Li Yun Rui, you guys nailed it.

i swear i keep hearing her voices inside my head 🤣🤣

the scene where the mom’s maid reenacting the real event of the hidden letter is truly mind blowing and well executed. i feel like watching a crime scene unfolds before my eyes. and the camera work, the transition between the past and the present. truly one of memorable scenes! i got goosebumps—the panic in her voices asking where to hide the letter just hauntingly memorable to me. kudos the actress (the maid) and the production team 👍🏻

because duke ding was the loyal general and good follower aka bestie to the emperor. and yes, in order for the second son to usurp the throne, they need to remove the biggest threat (which is duke ding).

i still cant totally forgive the emperor, knowing it took him so many sacrifices for this grand revelation of him. and until the end, he still prioritise his own royal family. the only good thing he did was constantly defended song mo but at what cost?! bro get traumatised for life, puke blood countless of time, being chased and hunt left and right, it’s way too easily at the end for the emperor and his royal blood. but thank goodness, the other plots were executed well, hence i cant let go this minor flaws.

and to think, we all know since day 1 that it’s the empress behind the duke ding murder (still the revelation was well done and explained better). kudos director & the writer!

thank you for the great ride, blossom! deserving the hype and truly a dark horse for cdrama in 2024. i am a sucker for sad ending drama and i’ve suffered so much this year with cdramas but this one healed part of my broken heart. thank you our furen & fujun, dou zhao & song mo!

same and it’s my first time wacthing xia zhiguang’s acting, looking forward for his next drama #VeilOfShadows or maybe i’ll check his another work. love his character, his calm demeanor. thank god, he’s at a good side till the end.

my boy ji yong, thank you for not letting me down. i wish there’s a scene where dou zhao and ji yong talk with each other for the last time. but okay, knowing they’re best friend for life and understand each other’s intentions; i guess that’s all that matters.

and that one flower truly signify his feelings for her. cried again—

truly the scene was so powerful and the words uttered by song mo 🔥🔥. i cant helped but shed tears. it burns me with anger how countless and countless time we had been showed with how useless the emperor. may the death of duke ding will forever haunted him.

wow, so ji yong was actually still not a good character in the novel? yeah i forgot the novel exist. holy crap you’re ji yong. so actually, the drama just toned down his character in the first half of the story; he was in fact a good strategist with a cunning heart i would say. now, my hope for him to be a better monk disappear. arghh, i would love to see him as a good and wise character 🥺

true, but it saddened me by the fact that women back then truly struggle to have their own opinions heard and decide by their own to whom they should get married with. and also, how naive they are to think that every guy worth the chance by only one glance or one act of kidness. just like dou ming & ansu.

and also how the society they lived in were so dysfunctional. every families got their own issues, greediness, pettiness, and evil intentions. this drama truly scared the shit outta me.

ikr, so far i only rewatch ep1-2 and 6. i dont think im brave enough to enter the later half of the story. truly miss the feelings of watching this as the first time and knowing nothing of the plot.

I think the more I rewatch the drama, the more I can see things clearly and understand the story well. but my heart not that strong to go through the entire drama again. maybe not yet 🤧
