ML is childish. He's facing serious murder charges, and he's flirting with his lawyer. And, oh my! She played…
that's what makes him a pretty selfless guy (and hilarious). he def is childish tho, being abandoned by his mom and exploited by his CEO at such a young age, don't think he learned much about how to adult. Sooyoung who plays the FL says she first booked her first flight and hotel at 28 and her therapist told her "it's as if you're stuck in time and you're still a high schooler" so imo I bet a lot of idols are pretty childish. he also never went to an aquarium before. In ML's case more emotionally tho, no one taught him how to control his emotions in a healthy way hence his anger issues. he only knows how to repress them.
in the first few eps he was distraught and suicidal but not so much about the fact that the whole world thinks he's a murderer but because he himself started to believe he killed his best friend.
but then his lawyer spent 5 episodes believing in him and gaining his trust and in ep 5 he finally believed in himself that he wasn't a murderer, and then he became so much lighter.
then jaehee became a suspect, he got his house back because the public believes he's not the culprit anymore, but he's not even happy about being off the hook becoz jaehee's in a coma.
then the indictment happened, after he had told the FL that he doesn't care about what anyone says. he's consistent i'll give him that.
plus they just got circumstantial evidence of someone else entering his house. FL told him the prosecution is building up a case solely becoz jaehee wasn't suicidal, there's proof someone tried to murder him and they're pinning it on ML, when he clearly has an alibi stalking sena. he just didn't tell the prosecution.
as a viewer, I also don't think the situation of proving his innocence is difficult. trying to catch the real culprit is the real problem.
I will never understand the whole "sins of the father" thing that's so big in KDramas. Even if her father…
Idk if it's just kdramas or Korean society. Being a criminal's relative is bad, not having parents/being an orphan? Also terrible enough to get bullied.
i have a legal background so i get SO annoyed at the legal part of the show istg like there is NO WAY that charging…
Right?? I can't tell if the writer is dumb or if it's on purpose to show that prosecutor is just irrational. Should have left it to another prosecutor. How is this germ prosecutor STILL trying to indict Do Ra-ik with weak-ass evidence? Which makes it understandable why Sena is like WHAT?? oh you wanna go again is it?? He's gonna regret STILL pushing this further.
Terrible romance. I’m annoyed. Emotional dependent route is so bad, doesn’t even make it seem legitimate.…
I think you just don't empathize with the characters and watching everything with a rational mind.
Sure running away in amidst that chaos was questionable. Even FL told the ML off for dragging her away. But he could see her mental state was not great. Usually she can stand straight and face reporters just fine. Until the mention of her father being a murderer and brought back her PTSD. Did you not see her almost getting a panic attack? She wasn't in a good condition to face that kind of pressure. So one day of running away to a place with nature surrounding you and gathering your thoughts doesn't sound like that bad of an idea. They did not run away on a mission to kiss obviously, it just happened (for them, for the writers it was a good time to give their kiss scene coz it's already episode 10).
I think they've left their idol-fan relationship a long time ago, the way they talk to each other clearly does not feel like the way idols and fans talk to each other. do you see her asking him when his next album will be out? no right? do you see him asking if she wants his signature? they've never even had a proper idol-fan relationship because as soon as they met, the FL hid her fangirl identity. the only time they met as surface level idol/fan was in episode 1 when he covered her mouth not to scream.
"....on a series where she wants to expose how fake those idols and fans are...bad" did you misunderstand the premise of the show? addressing toxic fan behavior only happened in episode 1, 2 and 5. the main premise is a lawyer/fan proving her idol's innocence and healing each other in the process.
maybe cliffhanger for ep 11 is the culprit caught. Raik already has an idea of who the culprit could be so I hope we dont have to wait till the end of ep 11 to find out
anyone have any drama like Full house (2004), anyone? i want like an old romantic kdrama, that's enemies to lovers…
yeah totally miss enemies to lovers. but these days you gotta be really careful with hardcore enemies to lovers like Secret Love, looking back the ML was REALLY problematic.
The romance & law part are barely there. The crime plot is messy idk why i still can't drop it lol
which episode are you on? romance shows up half way, law part was mostly in the first 2 eps getting him out of jail imo but it's always been a minor genre. the main genre is mystery + romance.
Does Choi Heejin have a likeable character here? I won’t lie, I’m biased toward her. I’m actually hoping…
I think some may find her irritating, some sympathize with her. but imo hard to ship her with the male lead if you watch how they broke up...she was kinda cruel about it even if she may not have truly meant it. but some words just can't be taken back. and she's also suspicious. there's a scene of her almost running the male lead over with her car right after he told her not to bother with him anymore...she may or may not have yandere tendencies...
I mean it rlly does not benefit the CEO killing his artists. being mad at them for leaving the company shouldn't…
true true. I almost hope it's not the CEO coz it would be too obvious then. but he did say he could charge penalty fees. he could have done just that instead of murder, right?
Even though I want the leads to be together eventually, I think it would be too soon if they started their relationship…
Right Raik needs to step up and show his protective manly side. Sena has taken care of him without expecting anything in return, so he needs to give back the same energy. He tried before but he had his own issues and couldn't help much. Now he's got a bit of closure finding out abt Wooseong's secret so he's in a good spot to help Sena out this time
Are you up to date with the current episode. Because everything you said was all cleared? Se-na car was tampered…
it's not shown by words, more with actions. raik kept seeing for himself how much Sena believed in him, like her little note on her table, overhearing her conversation with Chungjae that even if he's infuriating most of the time, he would never murder someone. all those moments clearly was meant to show Raik trusting and also falling for Sena becoz it was established he always wanted someone to see the REAL him, not the product version. Sena clearly showed that (after letting go of her idol image of Raik), she believed in him as a human.
Also, there was a really pretty shot of her and Raik's heart did a double leap. mine did too. who wouldn't be attracted atp
