I feel like Iβm the only one who feels really underwhelmed with this series :( Which sucks cause I love KNP…
I completely agree with you about Khem. He's known about his curse since young and it just feels like he's achieved nothing in terms of helping himself. If I was in Khem's shoes, I won't even wait to meet Pharan, I'd have ordained and become a shaman myself lol.
I also agree about the reincarnation thing. I want to believe that Khem's budding feelings has no connection to their past but with how deep he's already fallen in such a short amount of time, it's hard to not think there was influence. Same for Pharan as well. Although he's being stubborn about it drawing boundaries, his internal feelings don't reflect his actions. Although I can argue Pharan has known about Khem longer, so maybe his feelings can be explained away with that. But Khem, definitely fell too hard too fast.
Of course it's not that I won't eat it up if they fall in love quick, but it's just a note to put out there that their romance development may be a little lazy, like you said.
overall, a good episode imo. didn't get to see the jealousy i expected but we got other good things instead.
1. they explored more about how the town works. people have problems they need fixing and people with powers go in to help. the couple's relationship that is in turmoil also reflect khem's and pharans. 2. they explored more about jet and charn. 3. we got to see a bit about other sides of rampheung and her past. there could have been more, but given the context of this episode is focused on fleshing out main character's situations, i'll let it slide. 4. the paralell between charn and khem is quite nice. toward the end when charn was trying to convince jet about past and present commitment stuffs, it sounds more like he was trying to convince himself.
i thought this episode was slightly more balanced than ep 5, so it's a lot more enjoyable, as opposed to just squealing over a ship. there's more things to chew on in this episode.
i'm not that excited to see the love quad that's gonna happen because i know it's gonna be a lot of push and pull, but hey, if they can play it well, i'll gladly eat.
honestly pharan pissed me tf off in this episode. keng you're hot af but pharan gtfo of my face before i bich slap you. anyway, hopefully they explore more about rampheung next ep π
okay, so im gonna start ep 6. let's see where my opinions are. for now, i am excited to see jealous pharan. i've…
omg did rampheung stop the lady from throwing the baby? you know what, if they did throw her baby in the past, girl, i get why you cursed them. clock them, generational hate ftw π π
okay, so im gonna start ep 6. let's see where my opinions are. for now, i am excited to see jealous pharan. i've…
was gonna say this since earlier but they casted the male/female counterparts so well. jintana and chayada are also very similar to jet and charn. props πππ
okay, so im gonna start ep 6. let's see where my opinions are. for now, i am excited to see jealous pharan. i've…
okay so i get that khem has a crush on pharan, right, that part i get but is it really THAT sad to be rejected? sure pharan was helping him out bits and here until now and can be viewed as "mutual" feelings or whatever, but i feel the feelings are still too shallow for this much sorrow. unless those feelings are still khemika's, then i get it, which then just opens up the next problem, is khem, himself, does not like pharan, but it is the influence of khemika. so when's khemjira and pharan's story gonna start? this could still be khemika and pawat's story, just through new bodies, which should already be over by now.
pharan rejecting khem harshly because of what he knows and how he wants to separate from pawat is understandable, but denial is a river in Egypt, it just makes him a hypocrite. lawrd help these two. amen π
side note: i get why people think namping's crying looks bad, but imo, it wasn't bad, it was just misplaced. khem sobbed for about 30 seconds then went back to normal. if he had cried like that (the sobbing) at a funeral of a loved one it would have made sense but at a rejection from a man you've just met for a week or two or so? yeah, misplaced imo.
okay, so im gonna start ep 6. let's see where my opinions are. for now, i am excited to see jealous pharan. i've been watching lots of interviews promoting this Phakapong arc and it seems like it will be good, based on Keng and Namping's constant jokes about the guy appearing in ep 6. Will it live up to the jokes? let's see.
this low rating makes no sense. I hope it's not jealous fans of other shows review bombing bc this show is a smashing…
imo 8.4 is pretty high. anything above 8.0 should be considered a good score. idk how people view scores on mdl, but if you look at the 'top shows' tab, there's only 25 shows that have a 9.0+ score. that's out of 5,000 shows apparently. take that into consideration and that khemjira is a BL (more niche), it being 8.4 is actually pretty high. like some mainstream dramas, like queen of tears, that were super popular are only at 8.7.
how does our shaman live financially? I mean, where is the money coming from? The villagers?
idk how it actually works in this series, but irl, it's a community effort. he works his magic to keep people safe, people support him through donations. it's likely that it works similarly in this series too, if they're following traditions. it could also just be that he's from a rich family, since as we saw in ep 5, his parents and the parent of Phrima (the rich girl that came) are friends.
I need to be in a room with Keng where there are no others
Can i join? I want to ask him a couple questions. First and foremost, what did you eat to get so handsome? Secondly, how DARE you be so handsome? That will be all, thank you.
I think there is also a strong urge to stay because of something bigger than themselves, since him and Jet are…
Again, doesn't matter if you agree or not, that's how spoilers work. Just because you choose to not believe or agree that's how spoilers work, doesn't mean that's not how spoilers work. Choosing to not believe in what is a known agreement for everyone is willful ignorance. There are nuances but generally the consensus is (google search results) "Making an inference based on context clues is not considered a spoiler. Spoilers reveal information that was meant to be a surprise, twist, or significant plot point. An inference, on the other hand, is a conclusion you draw yourself by "reading between the lines" using clues the author provided."
If Chan and Jet were meant to be significant plot twists or a surprise, the series wouldn't litter so many obvious clues. I don't know what else to tell you except hopefully this helped open your eyes a little bit about how spoilers and inferences work π
i was just excited about the next ep and talking about the actors doing promotion and someone replied to me the…
i would hope this has nothing to do with differences in fandoms π . all people of different fandoms if with good personalities can respect and let people enjoy their thing. i mean im from the word of honor fandom myself and i've never stalked the comments of shows i dislike just to reply negatively to other people. i think it's just people having bad personalities. probably have too much time on their hands too.
I think there is also a strong urge to stay because of something bigger than themselves, since him and Jet are…
oh, so then you would agree it's not a spoiler since you've not read the novel. i've not read the novel either and i came to that conclusion about their characters too. none of us were spoiled since we all used context clues to conclude who they are. whether they will be confirmed or not, we will see more in the future, i guess.
now, whether or not you agree with what im about to say next, it's just facts that when you ask someone to put info under spoiler, you're confirming it is true and saying it is information not yet released in current episodes, therefore it is "spoiling" viewers about future events. however, we can all agree with just the information released within these 5 episodes, one can infer who Chan and Jet are in their past. granted some people may not notice the details but it still doesn't take away from the fact the clues were placed there deliberately for people to infer/assume.
( Iβm reposting my comment because I ended up blocking some weirdo lmao. )Iβm happy to see Khemjira doing…
i was just excited about the next ep and talking about the actors doing promotion and someone replied to me the actor must've fell asleep watching ep 5. i was so confused like wha????????? what are you even talking about????? so unprompted and weird π
Preface by saying a lot of these clips Keng and Namping are kind of role playing as Phor Kru and Khem and conversations blend a lot, so when they refer to themselves (in name as K and Np), it's mostly as in character. To promote the show. These clips are just funny and meant to engage viewers interest in the plot. Me personally this fish game they have going on is hilarious. I could only find 3 clips but I've seen others where they mention this fish name or just any name with Pong and Keng just is not in the mood while Np is a laughing mess.
In addition, they use a lot of word play so without understanding context, it's hard to understand what they're even referring to lol. I try my best to translate and summarize.
In this clip they're talking about pizza toppings. Np thinks a Plakapong (sea bass) will be good. Keng was like, pizza toppings usually dont use fish, particularly any fish with the term 'Pong' in their name. https://youtube.com/shorts/ZfaZ0NfXBQI?si=GdFrWPZSB7qc8Tnq
Continue with the pizza clips. In this, they're talking about pictures of pizza toppings again, interviewer ask which one Np likes. He says he liked the Hawaiian one before but now he also likes another 'Ha'. K was like, Hamachi fish? The answer was Ha Kapong (word play on Plakapong). So K was like, let me reiterate there's no topping with Plakapong. But there is one called Haran (Pharan) tho. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DOUUPGplTZg/?igsh=eXp2MWoycXprZXk2
In this clip Keng is salty, saying Np is glammed now and he enjoys Plakapong and doesnt like fresh water fish anymore. Np denies saying he still enjoys fermented fish. Then, they must've talked about riding bikes before this, cuz then Np asks K how he feels about someone coming to his home riding in nice expensive cars. K says he doesnt care whoever is riding expensive car, he will ride his bicycle. https://youtube.com/shorts/55GDbR4Qclc?si=4Y9Gj778KrPxBbbx
Why is the other child sprit not listed in the cast?
to add to the cast list, the celeb needs to have a profile on mdl first. if they dont have a profile, then they cannot be added to the cast list as a role/character. this show has relatively new or first time actors, it could be possible the kid doesn't have an active profile on md. i've looked on other sites too, like imbd and thai news sites, just to double check and he's not on there either. so i think he just doesn't have a public profile to attribute this role to.
I also agree about the reincarnation thing. I want to believe that Khem's budding feelings has no connection to their past but with how deep he's already fallen in such a short amount of time, it's hard to not think there was influence. subjectively, pharan.
dejectively, the doggo. dotty needs more screen timeeee!
