I didn't think that's the message? Kurosawa does get treated better as a whole, which I'm sure he appreciates greatly, but his issue resides in the fact that that's all people care about. Getting treated well for being attractive and feeling worthless except for his face, aren't necessarily mutually exclusive? They can happen at the same time and cause him to feel worthless overall. Which he does and states in the episode. I'm not attractive either so I definitely can't relate to Kurosawa's struggle, but I can understand being reduced to just looks, regardless of being attractive or ugly.
Machida's brows should get the nomination for the best supporting actor. They are so expressive.

also, im no japanese expert, but isn't suki more commonly used to say you like someone, as opposed to loving someone? even Kurosawa says he suki's Adachi and that was translated as like, rather than love. personally when I watched ep 7 raw, when Adachi confessed, my brain registered that as "i like you".
Can we just take a moment to applaud the normalization of a man crying, especially out of love. Many men are written as stiff and hard headed. It's nice to see Kurosawa show emotion.

i been thinking that for ages! my favorite hug that I think trumps a kiss, is the tight back hug. The person behind has their chin on the front person's shoulder while the front person leans into the back hug. The front hug takes second place and the side hug takes third. hugs give off a more reassuring and heartwarming feeling.

yeah I caught that a while ago and was wondering if I really just saw that? at the time it was just kind of funny to me how kurosawa was able to spot adachi in the dark. like this man really have night vision or something. but now that we are aware of kurosawa's mental struggle, it hits different.
