Yes they actually did cut a lot out and also inserted SA without much context. In the novel, while there is roughness in the intimacy, Chaeha was made aware of what he was getting into before Taeseon ever became that rough and put his lips on him. What we saw in that forced kiss and hate IS the essence of their relationship but it's been completely stripped down to simplistics. The roughness and hate in the novel is more nuanced.

Just based on ep 1& 2, I think they may be condensing several plot points, probably due to episode constraints too. I saw a comment ask which chapter episode 2 leaves off in the novel and all I have to say is it's not that easy to pinpoint imo, because as I mentioned, there's been a condensation. So yes, definitely follow up with the novel from start if anyone is interested to explore more of details surrounding this story ❤️
Ngl I had to pause watching this midway because they were so dumb 😭 dumb and dumber competing on a dumb thing.... it was too much. But I persevered. I really enjoyed this. It does the manga justice!
I did enjoy it overall but the chemistry between Chaeni and Unjeong was basically non-existent. Their romance felt very incompatible. Considering romance isn't one of the tags in this story, I wish they didn't do the romance at all or at least, try to make it work better if they were going to include it in the story. Imo it feels too half-baked and I could do without it, because the friendship between the trio Chaeni, Robin, and Mr.Son, is what really carried the show.
The children with the evil doctor are blind, I assume, because no way they lived through those experiments and witnessed how other kids were treated AND still on the side of the doctor. Unjeong went through the same thing they went through, he managed to see through the evil, there's really little excuse I'll accept from them. At some point the two girls showed resistance and suspicion and I thought we might be going somewhere with them, but it never went anywhere significant, which was disappointing.
And I don't want to beat a dead horse, but Cha Eunwoo is not beating the allegations that his acting is bland. Very pretty to look at, very visually pleasing, but not much else to offer in terms of acting. This could very well be entirely a script or directing problem, (but then again, I've seen 3 of his previous projects and every one I hold this opinion so to which point can you keep pointing fingers at the script/directing to explain away the acting issues) but yeah, wish there was more from his character in terms of emoting.
I enjoyed the special effects/CGI. It's pretty good.
If there is a season two, I am curious to know how it pans out.

I did enjoy the manga quite a bit, which is why I'm a little let down I'm not as into this as I should. I believe 2D media and 3D media have different styles, so you kind of have to switch it up a bit, although not too much of course, in order to translate it well, and if they're unwilling to change or add to tweak for the 3D media, then this is just the unfortunate result I guess.
An example is Cherry Magic. I don't like the Manga at all (the pacing is weird and I couldn't get into it, had to drop it early on), but I loved the live action, because I thought the pacing was more cohesive.

To address this supposed "biased fans", I wonder, you don't give all BLs the same scores across the board, do you? To say someone is biased, you claim they are being unfair. To be unbiased, you'd have to give every show you've watched the same score, to make it "fair", right? Did you give Where Your Eyes Linger the same score as See Your Love? 2gether as Kinnporche? Some BLs/shows you may not like, some BLs/shows you may like a lot, so you naturally give different scores. This is not bias, this is still preference. Do you think people giving 10/10 high scores are showing bias? What about you? Is your bias (unfairness) showing when you gave WYEL a 3.5 and SYL a 9.5? I personally gave WYEL a 9.5, which is the complete opposite of you, so what now? Which of us is the "correct" score when rating a BL? Which of us is "biased"? Answer is none, because the closest thing to a "correct" score is the gathering of everyone's score (their preferences) and giving out the average of those scores, which is the 8.7, that you see. 🤷♂️ ehh I don't mind new couples tbh. Jbls are pretty good at building chemistry/story with new actors. Kodai and Kan were both previously in different BLs before starring together in School Trip. Goes to show switching it up can create variety of stories with different flavors.
I hope people who questioned the rating of the prequal main story (like "why/how is this 8.7?") see how quickly the ratings for these special episodes shot up to 8.7 as well and understand there is an audience for everything, even if the specific show is not your preference 😊 It is 8.7 because people liked it. You know how scary a show is gonna be when they overcompensate with scary sound effects in non-scary moments to make it "scary". This is not horror, this is "how many times can we make viewers squamish with gore and typical loud sound jumpscares."
The characters all lack common sense and seem to act on stupidity alone. I was rooting for the evil spirit at some point. Something to note is Thai Culture is a deeply spiritual culture, probably even more so if you're from the small town/community rural farm lands away from big busy cities, so I refuse to believe any of the characters would deny the possibility of a possession or challenge the idea of a supernatural entity targeting them. The way it took them forever to ever suspect it was a ghost or that it was a possession is beyond me.
