Chong zi was a major disappointment for many reasons but this is a hell of a lot better in just a few episodes, already. I know the novel had a tighter plotline but it's Cdramaland, guess we just need to accept scriptwriters watering down good plots. Enjoying it so far
I guess acting-wise JT is more a man of action, all he got to do in ChongZi was looking pretty and waving his…
" a shapeless cottonball" is a perfect description of the FL in Chong Zi, she gave nothing back, there was zero personality, nothing. I'm hopeful this drama is better than CZ!
I'm cracking tf up, it's soooo funny I can't take it!
There have been a few moments when they almost broke character bc even they couldn't act out the dialogue w a straight face, but it makes the scene even funnier.
it's super rare for any drama, let alone a Jdrama, to actually make me properly laugh each episode but this one is the exception.
The premise of this is so good, despite his naivete/idiocy you can't help but root for ML. It almost, aaaaalmost makes up for the gaping wide plot holes. Still v enjoyable, I really like the trop of time-travelling and deciding to wholeheartedly live in that era.
I really liked the premise but there are major plot holes. Instead of lugging around a super conspicuous box of pastels why not use an illustration app on a tablet? also, surely telling suspects about her powers is a no-go??
mainly continued to watch bc I shipped ML & FL hehe
trust me i'm a country bumpkin too and i didn't know how this thing even work the first time i saw it
ohh haha, I thought they were taking it too far!
idk, maybe bc I'm also a country bumpkin so I hate the stereotype that we are uneducated and/or rude, I mean would you cut up someone else's dress w/o permission??
it's not a fairy tale , there is a aftermath to every decision. They have kids too , children in separated families…
interesting, I think it's more of a fairy tale for 20 years of abuse to be forgiven over a single convo but maybe that's just me.... nothing changed and the mother in law isn't gonna magically change either
the acting of the FL is kinda poor compared to others in the drama
I agree but thought she showed great acting in the courtroom scene.. I'm just not feeling her as FL. Not judging bc of her character's backstory or whatever but it's just zero chemistry btwn them. Maybe that will change in later eps but idk
I had to stop 5 min into watching this...not because of swearing/violence but bc of the shaky camera-work..it was legit making me dizzy. I didn't see anyone mention this, maybe it's only at the start of the film or maybe I'm too sensitive idk
I am rooting for Su Jiu Er being half Qi and here is my argument. I'm all for a Qian-Qi partnership when it comes…
I suspected that she was part Qi too, but maybe a Qian-Qi couple would result in Qian having extended lifespan somehow? hopefully we don't get some weird illogical ending!
I'm impressed so far, no major plot holes, the mystery is engaging. Even side characters are somewhat fleshed out. FL suits the role well here, she's not afraid to use her face to express comedic parts of the script. There are some actresses who literally have two expressions throughout an entire drama, it's like they're always concerned about best camera angle vs expressing emotions but FL isn't like that. I thought her character in The Knockout was kinda blah but she impressed me here. ML is decent, too.
If we continue to get solid screenwriting, this could be one of 2023's unexpected gems.
