This drama was pretty good. At first, it was a bit boring. But with the mystery of the case and Jiu's random appearances, you just have to keep watching. I have some complaints though, the way it ended was just, I don't know, not likable? :/ And I'm pretty sure this drama would have been better if Jiu appeared more. I mean, the drama is named after him. -__-

The acting was absolutely outstanding. Kuroki Meisa portrayed Izaki's character perfectly, she actually ended up being my favorite character.

The music... er, I really didn't enjoy having Lady Gaga's 'On the Edge of Glory' being played every few seconds. They played it on the most dramatic moments. -.-

I'd recommend this drama to those who enjoy action and mystery. It's not super great but it's worth watching.

Sorry if this was a pretty bad review, this is my first review. xD

Many reviews I've read say that this BL lacks depth and stuff like that. In my opinion, this BL is pretty much perfect. It's short enough that you can watch it in a day or two easily. There are only a few things that I can think of that go unresolved and unless you're wracking your brain about it like I am you may not even remember what I'm talking about. There isn't any homophobic drama, which I love because that gets so tiring. There is no bitchy girlfriend to worry about and make trouble for the couples. I do admit that the one girl in this is that 'bitchy' female character that everyone complains about but her character is essential for Junping and his lover getting together. I'm sure the producers could have done it differently and not made her character like that but I really don't think it's that terrible. I've seen much worse girls in BL being absolute bitches to even their boyfriends. I know people are tired of girls being misrepresented and all of us being 'bitchy' in bl but I've also seen plenty of adorable BL-lover/Yaoi fans and super supportive sisters/mothers too.

Anyway, back to my main point this BL is nice and short. It has just enough drama that you don't get tired of it. It's really cute, there isn't any graphic violence. All the couples wrap up together perfectly. I love this BL so much and all the comments about it lacking kinda hurt my fangirl heart. If you're reading reviews and wondering if you should still watch it if it lacks as much as people say, trust me it's good. Please watch it.

Watch it

If you have seen so many negative reviews and contemplating whether to watch it or not just go ahead and watch it. It is one of the best drama ever made. It has parallel time line story just pay attention and watch it you wont regret it for sure. Kim eun sook never fails to amaze me! She made yet another masterpiece just like the glory and goblin, she for sure has something in her. I really wish to know how she comes up with all these stories!

The movie is based on a true story which intrigued me, it was original and had me laughing most of the way through it. the students who were from all across the world such as America, Mexico, Germany, England and other countries  came together to discover their family’s culture in South Korea in the mid 1980’s in a kind of school camp.
The Story was good but I did think that it was ever so slightly lacking something, The story really consisted of the build up of relationships with the characters but the way some of the characters were portrayed in the story I couldn’t really grow to like some of them.
Some of the actors/ cast I didn’t really like the characters they played I didn’t really like Grace in all honesty, but I feel like the actress did really well in portraying her, I also didn’t like the other female lead, Kris I feel as if the actress didn’t really fit the part for it (in my opinion), some of the minor characters acting was a bit iffy but despite that I felt that the other actors and actresses really fit the part.
The music had all the greatest hits in the 80’s which I absolutely loved

The Best BOF Adaptation Ever

Super Highly recommended! Worth Watching!

This is my second Thai drama and first boys over flowers series I completely watched. I watched some of the other adaptations but I think this has the best.

This version have realistic portrayal of rich guy-poor girl theme. I felt great sympathy toward the main couple's character because I could really understand each others perspectives and the expression of emotions is so strong, they're making me overwhelmed and teary-eyed. Each character have a satisfying character development. Thyme has more character depth than the leads of other versions. He is so funny and cute too, while Gorya is a strong, relatable and realistic character. Gorya & Thyme's character and portrayal were so purely made. Thyme-Gorya & Kavin-Kaning's chemistry are on point, plus MJ-Aum too and not to forget Ren giving me second lead syndrome too like the other adaptations. Each character in the drama is so precious. I also love how they redevelop the whole story, they really did a good job there, tho I feel that 16 ep is short. They could have made it atleast 18 or 20. I was hoping for more Kavin-Kaning scenes in the last ep but they shown only a couple of seconds. I want more romance scenes for each couples 'cause the ending does not satisfy me that much. I hoped for more! But still it's a great drama. Everything in the drama is so good. I'm really loving the comedy & romance here. Definitely gonna rewatch, again hehe.

All of the OST's are so good. F4 members sing so well too. My fave is Who Am I 'cause it seriously gives me goosebumps and excitement whenever I hear it and In the Wind by Dew.

I watched this while ongoing and my heart can't handle 1 ep per week, it was a torture. I am used to 2 eps per week in kdramas.

Before you watch Squid Game...

To watchers from conservative countries/religious countries:
Note that Squid Game has an UNCENSORED sex scene in one of its episodes (I forgot which episode) and if you are alone, it's still better to put on your ear/headphones than watching it out loud. Watch it at your own risk.

Here is my review:
Pros:
- Episode 1 - 8 will never make you bored, so I'm sure you can binge-watch it without getting distracted
- Unpredictable side-plot that makes the games more interesting
- Thrilling
- Characters who participated in the games are varied
- Different from Alice in Wonderland, Squid Games don't have those confusing-puzzle-games because SG are based on childhood games

Cons:
- Too many side stories are missing
- Plot holes everywhere
- You can definitely guess who will be the winner lmao
- Unfinished and unpolished ending

WORTH IT to watch for?
- You who are looking for a fast-paced thrilling easy-to-understand drama.
- You who are bored watching romance/comedy-drama.
- You who wants to join your friends' convo about this drama.

NOT WORTH IT to watch for?
- You who are looking for drama with a good main plot and/or plot twists.
- You who are looking for drama without 18+ scenes.
- You who are looking for a long thrilling drama like "Mouse".

This movie is very harsh, there are no rainbows or butterflies when it comes to this film. It's about the harshness of life and love that shouldn't be. The characters are very dark and are sometimes hard to understand until a flashback happens later in the film. The love between the Jade and Takeko is dysfunctional but real, you can almost understand Jade's obsession with Takeko. The actress did a very good job playing women in love. And it was nice to see Ranie Yang play a more mature role rather then her cutesy innocent stuff. I recommend this film to anyone who is willing to give it a try.
Happy Watching :)

A complete butchering of Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint

This adaptation is a disgrace.
They erased everything that made Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint powerful. Kim Dokja — a quiet, broken soul — is now a bully who hates the book that saved him? Yoo Sangah — one of the strongest female characters — reduced to a passive healer? Misogyny and lazy writing at its worst.

Made-up characters, ignored lore, terrible casting, and not even the hair or height of both the characters was done right. The writers and director clearly never understood (or cared about) the original. This isn’t an adaptation. It’s a complete betrayal.

The gem of 2022 and a must watch for all wuxia lovers

This is the best wuxia c-drama I have watched in a while, and certainly the best of 2022. I binged watched and completed the first 12 episodes in a day, and after that it was torturous waiting for new episodes to be released. It was everything I had hope for in a wuxia drama, and some. Not a perfect drama though, but certainly top on my enjoyment list as I thoroughly love every bit of this drama and a tad sad after it concluded airing after 40 episodes. There are only a handful of c-dramas that gave me such vibes, and “Blood of Youth” (BOY) is one of them.

What makes this series so special is its storylines. This is the adventure of Xiao Se – the fallen sixth prince and his best buddy, Wu Jie in the martial arts world of jiang hu. Along the way they picked up other like-minded swordsmen and fighters, and together they tried to mould the political landscape of Beili Kingdom. The palace politics is portrayed through the battle for the throne and each prince/party is supported by various martial arts sects with their own Swords-Masters and Swords Deities. In this world of martial arts, all these swordsmen fight for the supremacy to be the best in the world. These martial artists are ranked accordingly by the mysterious Baixiao Sect ala Langya List in “Nirvana in Fire 1&2”. Meanwhile, the skills of these swordsmen are categorized to denote expertise, and they gained level as they get more experience just like Dungeon & Dragon games.

While this premise is not unique and has been adopted by various wuxia novelists since time immemorial, BOY is different because each character - be it main protagonists or supporting characters - are unique and entertaining, with their own quirks and idiosyncrasies with their own interesting storyline and character development. This is the real strength of BOY. Xiao Se is the moody and enigmatic sixth prince; Wu Jie and Ma Chunfeng are both naïve and innocent members of distinguished clans; Sikong Qianluo is the haughty and impulsive daughter of a Swords Deity ; Tang Lian is an honest and loyal disciple of Tang Clan and Xueyue City ;Ye Ruoyi is the regal and dignified daughter of a General commanding thousands of armies ; Wu Xin is the playful and charming demon sect’s leader who happens to be the half brother of Prince Chi; Prince Bai is the virtuous and honorable, yet blind second prince eyeing for the throne; Prince Chi is the evil ninth prince jostling for the throne, and practically responsible for all evil things happening in this c-drama ; and myriad other interesting characters like Li Hanyi (Xueyue City Swords Deity), Sikong ChangFeng (Xueyue City Third Lord), Luo Mingxuan, Li Fan Song (Mount Wangcheng disciple), etc.

Blood Of Youth has plenty of light-hearted moments with playful bantering among the characters. It provides relief and brief interruption from the serious undertone concerning the life and death of martial artists and the struggles for throne among the princes. Even the interaction between the Divine Healer, Hua Jin and the third Master of Ma’s Clan, Ma Chunfeng brings smile to my face. There are funny scenes everywhere: from the awkward way Wu Jie tried to strike a conversation with Ruoyi at the Flower Festival, to the way Wu Jie tried to correct Xiao Se’s pronunciation of a cursed word, etc. Wu Jie’s character is a gem because he always becomes a fodder for Xiao Se’s deadpan humor. Even Wujin’s character sometimes acts silly in the presence of these two protagonists. Basically anything involving Wu Jie and Ma Chunfeng is funny, and I think these two characters really steal the show.

This series could have been a huge TV rating bonanza had it featured A-list actors such as Yang Yang, Yang Mi, Dilraba, Zhao Liying, Wang Yi Bo, Xiao Zhan, etc. The producer casts three (3) great looking and up & coming actors as the main male leads. Li Hongyi, Liu Xueyi and Ao Rui Peng play their parts convincingly, may have their loyal coterie of fans but they are not A-grade . The chemistry among this trio, and towards the leading female leads (Flora Dai & Lin Bo Yang) are palpable for viewers to see. Not a single actor/actress hogs the lime-light and the screen time is shared across all cast. I thought the casting of Lin Bo Yang as Sikong Qianlou was the weakest link in the drama, and would have preferred to see either Yuan Binyang or Gulinazha in that role.

I love dramatic fighting scenes and there are plenty of them in any wuxia movie, and BOY is no exception. The fight choreography is at par with the best of Wuxia films/dramas I have watched to date. I am even inclined to compare the work of high-budget Chinese New Year’s blockbuster – Sakra: an adaptation of JinYong’s work – to BOY, and the result was not disappointing. Sakra involved tons of money, a gazillion of stuntmen, machines and props and the fighting choreography may not be much superior to that of BOY. If anything, BOY’s fight scenes are more realistic as the director tries to tone down on the more complicated and back-breaking stunts by not going overboard with the action flicks or wire works. However, at times the choreographed fights become too simple especially the ones involving Sikong Qianlou.

There are however a few post-production “errors” which stand out to me but it does not take away from enjoyment of BOY. For example, Tang Lian disappears from the scene by jumping to a roof and into the horizon. The scene is comical because the fast motion was overdone. Similarly, the same technique was overdone when Sikong Qianluo and Ye Ruoyi are on horsebacks trotting slowly while leading the army to Tianqi City after successfully battling Prince’s Chi surrogate army. The scene is out of sort, because the horses are moving at a snail pace, almost reluctantly, while the post-production tries to simulate the movement of an army marching on. But these “spoofs” are few and far between.

A thoroughly enjoyable wuxia flick. The gem of 2022 and a must watch. 10/10 rating. My only disappointment is that it has only 40 episodes. Off to another Li Hongyi’s drama – Wulin Heroes.

The only reason to watch this is for Park Shin Hye & joo Sang Wook...

Story- Your average family drama. It wasn't as funny as I thought it was going to be. The plot was very good but there were too many episodes. It really doesnt start to get good till 15 episodes in. The ending was welcomed although the way they wrote the romance between Lee Min Jung's character and the second brother was a little rushed so thier ending was kind of like "Say what?" Thier characters were underused and their romance could have filled up more space and made the story more interesting.

Acting/Cast- Very good acting by the main characters of course but I did find thier pairing a bit strange. I mean JSW is more than 10 yrs older than PSH. The supporting cast all filled their roles well. As I said though LMJ was quite underused and I thought her character was cute/funny.

Music- Average OST; nothing memorable but fit the scenes well.

Rewatch- Its rewatchable but because the story is so average I'm not sure Id watch this again or not.

Overall Kimcheed Radishes is very good but would have been much more enjoyable if cut by 14 episodes. Id say watch for the leads.

This is a really good movie. I was really surprised! This movie will play with your feelings, and sometimes you even forget to breathe! You'll forget everything around you and it feels like you are in the movie, it sucks you right in.
I was scared to see horrible fake scenery but it didn't the special effects were amazing!! The person who was responsible for the special effect is a true master!
What I loved the most in this movie was the fact that it played in different perspectives. How people react, how people act and how they were, it's a real eye opener.

This movie might make you cry and smile at the same time. It's got a little bit of humor in it, just a tiny bit and I appreciate it.

I gave it a 7 on the story because some things might be somewhat unrealistic, but that is just a tiny mark. This is a good rewatch and this is a movie that will pump some adrenaline trough you vains, I recommend you to watch this!

Paraller universe story (translation included)

This is a short story about the same couple meeting in another universe, with their professions and temperaments exchanged. There are a lot of flashbacks to the original drama, so it's mostly for reminiscing, but there is also a part of the original couple celebrating their one year anniversary. It's worth watching if you liked the original drama.

As the special episode is currently online with only Chinese and Thai subtitles, I translated some of the conversation in English. You can read it below.

SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS

- When they meet at the stall she is buying the snow globe. The girl (who buy the way is not ZSY's daughter but his niece) says she wants one too. ZSY asks if there is another one, but the seller lady says only that one, so SJB says she will give the globe to the girl.
- When the girl hurts herself SJB says she is a doctor. Every time they ask the girl if it hurts she answers it doesn't.
- When they are on the roof and have fed the bird SJB ask ZSY why he is wearing the mask, does he have the flu. He responds he is an actor. She asks his name, and then in what he has acted in. He tell but she shows no reaction, so he understands that she does not know him and says also that he does not need to wear a mask then.
- After they have finished re-building the castle SJB tells ZSY she always thought actors were sort of good-for-nothing people so she's surprised he is so handy.
- Then their stomachs make the sound and SJB says there are only noodles. ZSY says noodles are fine. She asks if they should wake the girl up, but he says let him sleep and when she (the girl) will smell the food she will naturally wake up. SJB laughs and says that she didn't know the girl was as into food as she is too.
- When the food is on the table SJB points out that the girl has not woken up, so the smell/taste is not good enough, ZSY tells him to taste it first.
- After the power has gone out and there is the memory of the other them, ZSY asks if there could be another world where she would be the actress and he would be the doctor. She says there might be and they could be besties - she uses the word for female best friends here. He says why couldn't they be best friends using the male word. She says they might be even lovers, and after that he starts saying why again, then they fall quiet and he completes his sentence asking why the power isn't back on. She says it's the rural area and he says in rural area there is scenery you can't see in the city so they go to the roof to do the falling star vs. airplane bit.
- They come back to find the girl up. She says she the would does not hurt anymore and also that she was hungry so she ate some of SJB's snacks. SJB tells her to eat more but she says she's full and tells her uncle let's go.
- After ZSY and the girl are gone SJB thinks there might not be a chance for them to meet again, but then she sees the crystal ball. When they meet at the door ZSY asks for her number and she says she was going to give them the crystal ball. The girls says she will give it to SJB. ZSY says let's keep in touch.
- Then when we see ZSY talking to his phone he says this is the place where he met SJB one year before because of the snow globe and that he has now brought her back as his fiancee. She comes closer and asks him if he thinks there is another ZSY and SJB in another world and if they are also in love. He answers "of course".
- Then there is text saying "one year later", but it refers to the original ZSY and SJB. SJB is sending a message to ZSY saying the the scenery is beautiful and his suggestion to spend the weekend there was great. Then she asks him when he is coming, but he answers that there is an emergency surgery and another the next day so he can't come the whole weekend. He says that he has ordered some snacks and the package should have arrived so she has to remember to eat.
- When ZSY is in the box he asks his friend is he is sure SJB will be surprised, he assures she will and it's very romantic. Meanwhile she's happy with the scenery.
- When SJB comes back she says that the weekend without ZSY is boring and how great it would be if he was there. He says her wish is fulfilled. When he comes out she asks when did hie come and if he has waited the whole day. He answers by wishing her happy wedding anniversary. She has totally forgotten so she apologizes and blames her brain. He says she doesn't have to remember, because she will have him for every important day (remembering for her). She thanks him for loving him.
- On the bed SJB asks if there are another them in another world, he says there might be, she asks if they are also in love and he says "of course".

a community, and adorable couple

I think the writer wanted to play on certain audience misconceptions - real life judgment in a scripted environment. That made some people uncomfortable, some militant, and nulled some fans preconceived notions. Just because someone has played a gay person, or is a gay person in real life. Has mannerisms, or a job you believe are stereotypical, neither of which denotes character (or real life) sexual preference. But, just like the characters in this drama that misunderstood the male lead's orientation. All characters you are watching and their mannerisms are scripted, and not the actor that plays that part. That being said.

"You Are My Make Up Artist" is a romantic comedy series, with a main couple you could watch make cute faces at each other for an entire episode and it would be enough. But, even with that going for it, there are story issues. With a rocky beginning, and a writer that wanted to hit their audience over the head with teaching moments - known as misunderstandings. They had reasons; Highlighting the treatment of the LGBTQ community in Thailand. Drawing attention to the treatment of the vulnerable as second class citizens. While, emphasizing truth and forgiveness between individuals. And, if you can accept that, and a really adorable couple. With, an ending other dramas only dream of. I can recommend it.
