The price for power and ambition

The Empress can now finally realise what the price was for the power she held for those years — her son’s respect. He now distances himself from her not only physically, but also emotionally, as his attitude towards her is quite cold. I think it’s quite ironic, considering that she kind of did all that for him too. 👆I really liked how Duke Hua acknowledged that the young Emperor has the mind and judgement to be a good ruler. So, regarding that, I hope Yunqi will stay where he is and Mo Jingli’s plan will fail. 🤞The conversation between Ye Ying and Mo Jingli… ehh — I really hope she will be able to move on from him, as I have hoped for at least 30 episodes already! 😩 She deserves so much better, and the way she told him that story about Ye Li, the boat, and the swimming, it really touched a chord in me. Poor Ying, I wish all the best for her. 🥺And now Mo Jingli has set his plan in motion, with the fire oils and raising chaos in the city. Of course, he chose the perfect time — while Prince Ding is not back yet and there is no one to defend the capital, the Emperor, and Guo Jin…. or maybe there is someone? 👀

Tragedy Meets Tragedy

This is the episode I've been dreading because I really don't care about the ML's legs getting treated. In fact, I would have enjoyed to see his story play out as he keeps his disability and maybe only gets some mobility back. I also thought the drama would take the time to treat him throughout multiple episodes instead of the world just stopping so he can complete treatment. Hopefully he will still struggle for the next episodes. The rating is still high for me due to everything else going on. Jingli was so close to getting it and him falling back into his old thinking patterns immediately, truly shows how much we are influenced by others.

5/5 for getting into action!

This episode is full of new developments! Lifei does not allow Xiuyuan to be treated unfairly and protects him in front of everyone. She's almost at the point when she's ready to trust him again, but not quite there yet. We learn that both main leads have some kind of a seal put on them, get an honourable mention of Lifei's da shixiong's skills, and get reminded of the approaching 500 year cycle of apocalypse. Xiuyuan is confused about the demonic qi inside of him, demon spies are not identified yet, and the tournament of disciples is suddenly pushed forward. This arc is one of the most entertaining, considering that both Lifei and Xiuyuan participare in duels. Lifei might be weak, but she's full of tricks, and it's nice that masters of Wuyue court appreciate not only strength, but clever strategy as well. Xiuyuan is all the more happy to see her succeed with her unconventional methods.

Main leads' life in Wuyue court sure is eventful, to say the least. Looks like Xiuyuan for the first time since his betrayal allows himself to talk back to Lifei. Was it a demon lord talking? Because otherwise he's like a happy dog wagging its tail when he sees her. All the while demon spies infiltrate the sect, and the most irritating person to Xiuyuan, his love rival Qin shixiong, is falling to temptation of demonic power and harbours ill intentions towards Lifei. Xiuyuan cultivates the righteous path with remarkable speed of a genius, getting ready to protect Lifei from the nearing threat! But his demonic nature in those circumstances might be a problem that noone anticipates...

Jifei has entered the strangest crowd there is in Wuyue Court. They are all gluttons and slobs, except for that one lady. But is this group really the weirdest one? That one guy in Ruzhi Peak was also quite bizarre. And they say this is the strongest and most respected immortal sect? 😂Did I get the library scene right, that Xiuyuan has to hold onto his love for Jifei so as not to turn demonic and evil? 🫣 And did the ending of the play mean the Demon Lord killed the Flower Fairy, or was it just her arm he chopped off? I need more answers about their past, though. If that's true, it might be something everyone thinks happened, but the truth is completely different — like she sacrificed herself and asked him to do it. ☝️🤔Gulin meeting Lu Li from the Wanxian Sect and choosing to join it might be a good thing for her. She constantly felt like a third wheel with Changye and Ye Ye, so now she can focus more on herself and forge new relationships. Is that for better or worse? Only time will tell, but I am kind of happy for her... 😌
