Escolhas e Consequências.

Minha primeira impressão de Go Ahead é bastante dividida no que diz respeito à forma como o C-drama apresenta a família. Até agora, o contraste entre Li Hai Chao e os demais adultos é abissal. Ele parece ser o único adulto de fato na obra. Enquanto demonstra que ser pai é um compromisso diário, uma escolha que exige responsabilidade e dedicação, os outros parecem presos ao puro egoísmo, a uma visão irreal da realidade ou à incapacidade de enfrentar as consequências das próprias escolhas.O caso do Ling He Ping me deixa intrigado, muito pelo fato de ele ser um policial e não demonstrar a postura que eu esperaria de alguém nessa posição. Mesmo parecendo um homem bem-intencionado - nunca comprei essa ideia de colocar a família em segundo plano por causa do trabalho; acredito que é possível conciliar as duas coisas, mas enfim -, sua postura excessivamente passiva diante da ex-esposa e da ex-sogra acaba permitindo que elas imponham uma relação artificial ao Ling Xiao. Evitar conflitos pode parecer uma forma de manter a paz, mas, quando isso significa não proteger quem mais precisa, a omissão também produz consequências.Da mesma forma, penso que perdão e reconciliação não são a mesma coisa. Consigo enxergar o perdão como uma forma de deixar de carregar o peso do ressentimento, mas isso não implica reconstruir uma relação de mãe e filho como se o abandono nunca tivesse existido. Ainda mais quando a mãe já seguiu a própria vida e constituiu outra família. Algumas feridas podem cicatrizar, mas nem sempre devolvem a confiança ou a intimidade que existiam antes.Vamos ver como isso se desenrola, mas espero que o C-drama não suavize demais as consequências das atitudes dos personagens em nome da reconciliação.

JingJing gets the contract for gala. Qian Fei goes to Liao ShiYu with her original apology plan explaining why. Wang still lacked the courage to do the right thing. He has the break up line down to perfection. 😝I can’t applaud him realizing how little he did for Qian Fei. It just shows he recognized how much he took her for granted and how caring she is for people in general isn’t a crime but a rare asset. She has the highest integrity even with her job whether or not circumstances goes her way, she follows through. Liao Shi Yu was shamed into doing the right thing. This will help her company out and she earned her dad’s respect for taking responsibility. Yi Fei and colleague stole Qian Fei’s laptop to make that happen. While initially embarrassing, it gives them grounds for legal action if any more videos show up. It was the best move. Ms Fang knows Qian Fei working behind the scenes in spite of being kicked off the project. Even Ms Liao was curious about her helping. Had to respect her for valuing her job and responsibly to her company. Somebody needed to take responsibility and the first hotel to do that would gain the biggest amount of public support and respect. I’m sure Mr Li wants to know why his son is chatting it up with a waitress. 🫣 I liked how he talked his son’s company up. He respects what his son is doing and is trying to assist from the outside. Yi Fei is all proud of himself, but he underestimated Qian Fei’s anger at his butting in. He was well aware that putting faith in Wang and Shi Yu to do the right thing wasn’t going to happen without an outside push. So he made sure it was provided in a way that let Shanlifang save face and appear to do the right thing by choice. The right goal was met, but his arrogance was a misstep with Qian Fei. Looks like next episode Qin is going to wrangle her way in to do exactly what Qian Fei accused Yi Fei of doing. 😝Qian Fei was right, but it was a high handed way to handle things. She went above Ms Liao and Ms Fang. She returned the slap she’d been given professionally. Ms Liao still wants Wang. Why? I know the heart wants what the heart wants. She did not pay attention to the vibes her dad was giving or the room in general where Wang was concerned. Her own lack of respect for him in the workplace at his indecisiveness should have clued her in they were not a good match. Maybe they will drop Wang entirely from the drama now. If they would just do that with Jun’s parents too.😝🙄

two episodes in, and it’s already shaping up to be something special

I always make it a rule to watch a few episodes before coming anywhere near the reviews or comment sections, and thank god I did. Coming here after watching the first two episodes, I feel like I stepped into an alternate universe. The dragging, the toxicity, the unrelated drama...it’s a whole circus that has absolutely nothing to do with the actual quality of the show itself. The current rating does not reflect the product on screen at all, so I’m leaving a proper review for anyone who is actually here to judge the series based on... you know, the series. Full disclosure before I get into it: I have never consumed anything related to LingOrm before. I have seen exactly two GLs in my life (Pluto and Petrichor), so I am coming into this completely blind and solely as a viewer looking for a good story. And honestly? These first two episodes are exceptionally well-crafted televisionRight out of the gate, the directing is incredibly confident. Instead of leaning into the bright, pastel aesthetics usually associated with the genre, the show uses a more mature, grounded, and slightly muted color palette that perfectly fits a story about a crumbling marriage. Episode 1 drops us right into the thick of the divorce proceedings and the toxic family dynamic without spoon-feeding us exposition. But it’s Episode 2 that really proves the show's quality. Although the underlying pain of the divorce is ever-present, the way the narrative seamlessly shifts the mood between raw confrontation and unexpected romance is brilliant.On paper, cramming a vicious clash between the mil and Neen, a drunken and miserable Runch getting humiliated and called out for "living off her wife," and a romantic pivot into a single episode sounds like it would be overwhelming—even agonizing—to watch. But in contrary, it isn't. The writers cleverly weave genuine comedy into the clashes with the mother-in-law, keeping the atmosphere from ever becoming suffocatingly dark. They found a way to handle the messy, painful arguments without making it a torture for the viewers. Most impressively, despite all the heavy, miserable buildup, we are gifted a beautifully executed love scene. It doesn't feel jarring... rather, it serves as a poignant, steamy reminder of their deep, undeniable connection, and it made me really appreciate the complexity of Runch and Neen's dynamic.Since I have no prior attachment to LingOrm, I’m judging them purely on this performance, and they are delivering. im in awe. Furthermore, the actress playing the mother-in-law is terrifyingly good...she embodies that specific type of passive-aggressive, manipulative matriarch that feels ripped straight from reality.final thoughts: not sure if anything from the above gonna change cause it's just the beg but what i wanna say is this: watch before you jdge... two episodes in, and it’s already shaping up to be something special... i'll comeback here after the series finishes airing to see if there are things I would add/change.
