Spending a lifetime together

Xiaojue was ordered to set off for Mingshui, while He Yan for Rundu (no battle there, Emperor's just seperating them because he fears their concentrated Military Power), While Yan He will set off for Huayuan. Chengxiu is already pregnant and Yan He haa to leave for the war. The Wutuo were continuously harrassing the Huayuan border and He Yan went there with Reinforcements, but still Yan He couldn't be saved, the poison already spread in his body. He died before he could even see his newborn daughter Muxia. Grievances, He Yan was angry, and she blamed Chu Zhao only if he hadn't sowed the seed of suspicion in the Emperor's mind about He Yan's and Xiaojue's concentrated Military Power, he wouldn't have sent her to Rundu and she would've been able to fight in Huayuan, if she fought along with Yan He he wouldn't have died. But now he's dead, Chu Zhao the military advisor have such a useless advice to the Emperor, and he Will atone for his sin. He sowed discord between the Emperor and his ministers, now the consequences are too much to handle. Now he realised that he was wrong. Mingshui needed aid, and He Yan went there to help him after clearing Huayuan. She reached in time to help her hubby. Oh my! That Sword exchange move was so cool while fighting the Wutuo Commander, husband and wifey they just exchanged their swords. They finished the battle of Mingshui. [Novel: Yan He prepared all the Military reports to facilitate He Yan before passing away so when she came to Huayuan with reinforcements she'd be able to fight, but poison had already spread in body and he didn't rest a bit, when He Yan reached Huayuan border he had already passed away. Till his last breath he cared about his Nation, and didn't think of ChengXiu or his child much, but he was sorry that he couldn't see his child. When she heard this news she was pregnant and almost lost the will to live, but she remembered Yan He's words that he was excited to see who the child will take after, she wanted to see Yan He's resemblance in her child, She was a really strong woman, she didn't cry when she heard about his death, she didn't cry, never cried until she was old, very old and her grandchild found the book and she recognised the book, it was the book she was reading when she met Yan He for the first time in their Youth, he had kept this book hidden since their first meeting, this was the first time after his death that she cried, and she cried a lot sitting on the floor, she murmured softly "I miss you Yan He"]. Haha are you kidding me? In the last 7.5 minutes they got married and The End. I don't know I just feel a bit disappointed right now.

Promises made ….. decrees rejected

I love that Xiao Jue pleaded for her to have an option. I am happy that she firmly asked for decree to be revoked. That she made it plain with no opening for negotiation. She marries who she loves or she doesn’t marry period. The writers did not do well with this. It is not the obstacles to them getting married as the personality deviations to make it happen. The emperor seemed almost a father figure in how he candidly spoke with Xiao Jue. And now he not only forbid them to wed, he painted Xiao Jue in a corner and then smirked to have him personally read the marriage decree to his beloved? This is completely out of character. And then for him to ask did I err? To make a hard decision against someone he respected happens, but to add to the pain and then find it funny to do? This doesn’t sit well. I love that He Yan put her lover’s words together and figured it out. That she ‘politely’ told the emperor what he could do with his decree, and that she put Chu in his place and tossed his tassel back at him. The cruel smile on his face afterwards plotting is not how he has been. He wanted to right the wrongs of the poor. That he would chain a woman to him after all his mother went through, is a stretch. That he would find a way to make them stay single would be a Chu move. But to immediately seize opportunity without softening the blow and biding his time makes no sense. This creative whim would have been better invested with military matters rather than politician obsession dementia. All the characters were marginalized with this angst offshoot and it was an unnecessary distraction to what could have been a phenomenal ending. The chancellor’s spoiled daughter takes things into her own hands and tries to stab Chu in his opportunistic heart, but the guard that truly loves him took that blow for him. He doesn’t understand why she did that for him because he has no clue what real love is. Things lighten up with the docs getting married. This made up for the recipe proposal. She’s looking at that horse like how am I gonna do that in a dress? and he picks her up and tosses her like a bouquet right on over.😂 There is a crowd of women all ready to catch her. She recovers from this to walk through the parade of fans.😂 Cheng gets points for creativity here.😂🥰 How our generals hold hands in public and promise to grow old together.🥰❤️ These two are unstoppable no matter what. The big bro talking sense into the dependable brother. This family is kinda awesome. They will more than make up for the family He Yan never really had, tho her mother tried at the end. Their tea time is cut short because the pissed off Wutuo decide to attack two cities at same time and it’s time for boots on the ground to take care of it.

Would rather stay single than marry someone I don't love

The Emperor is going back on his word, intends to seperate them, an absolute division. Xiaojue's fashion sense ✨, the wedding dress is really Beautiful. I want to cut the Emperor in half with a Sword, he made Xiaojue read the Marriage edict himself, and He Yan was shocked. The Emperor had such a wicked expression, I really think sometimes that why are almost all Emperors in Ancient dramas such Assholes, literally you couldn't have your own love story and you're out there using your authority to ruin other's love stories. I can't believe that he was playing nice before and now's he's stooping so low as to threaten XJ of dragging his family down for a mere edict. Such a Misunderstanding 😭, He Yan snatched the edict from his hand cause he didn't want to give her the edict, she cried but XJ was helpless,He Yan misunderstood that he wanted her to marry someone else, it was that damn Emperor's fault. That's my Girl! The First thing she did was removing the Tassel from her Whip,and after entering the Palace she straightforwardly asked to revoke the Marriage decree and even said No 🙂‍↔️ to Chu Zhao on his face, she would rather stay single all her life than marry someone she doesn't love, and even Xiaojue asked that much from the Emperor for He Yan, to be given a choice. After seeing both of em, the Emperor was thinking if he truly erred. That was fun, He Yan gave a Brutal Rejection to Chu Zhao, that what he has for her isn't love, it's all just for his Ambition, his schemes. I knewwwwwww it she will throw his Tassel in front of him. She said the truth that he's slowly becoming the second Xu Jingfu. According to the Novel I was supposed to be sad for CZ's Maid, but here since the story has changed and they made Xu Pingting's story more emotional, from her pov he Deceived her, Betrayed her and Dumped her and now he was Betrayed and Dumped too (betrayed not much, that's his own wishful thinking that He Yan must have loved him) and she was so out of it that she tried to stab Chu Zhao but his made took the hit for him. It feels like they just wanted to end Yingxiang's life so they rushed this, like suddenly Pingting wanted to kill CZ and his maid took the hit for him and died, that's rushed, like they wanted to reduce a character. He cried for her, since they've been together for so long and he genuinely cared for her since he saved her (not love). Ahhhhh finally TaoTao and Lisu's marriage. Cheng Lisu is really playing with her🤣, threw her over the horse to the other side🤣. He's really giving her the special feel today🤣, she would've felt dizzy with the fan perfomance. HY and XJ are at home, and literally they can't eat in peace, they heard the sound of the drums. The Mingshui and Huayuan Border are being simultaneously attacked by Wutuo, no time to waste.

The Marriage Decree

Just want to see TaoTao amd Lisu married already, she blurted out that she fell for him 🤭. And Liau properly confessed his feelings and proposed to her✨🤭. Their wedding will be held at the end of the month. XJ planned such a perfect date with He Yan, and literally Feinu did so many things today🤣, had to help his Commander propose marriage to his girlfriend. I hoped they wouldn't ruin Zilan's character since he was now like this at the end in Novel, but they changed it. And now he's so obsessed with HY that he's having a panic attack because he saw HY and XJ kissing under the tree, literally they're just ruining it with this additional thing. Fucking ruined it for real, Now Chu Zhao sowed suspicion in the Emperor's mind, he stated that General Feihong and Fengyun are not a good match, since they both hold military power and if they Marry, then it'll threaten the Throne. The Emperor called XiaoJue to the Palace for the Wutuo matter. How dare he!! CZ asked the Emperor for a Marriage decree right in front of Xiaojue, Xiaojue exclaimed "No Way!", like he's got guts to ask for his woman right in front of him. The Emperor really be like "yeah you're all my loyal ministers and you helped me eliminate a corrupted minister who wanted to usurp the Throne but still I'll seperate you lovebirds". I understand he has valid reasons, buy asking one of them to Surrender their Military Authority 😞, A General won't be a General anymore if they don't have an Army to Command. Ah so this was the reason for the nasty Punch on Chu Zhao's face given by Xiaojue, I've seen it in preview, but finally seeing as to what it was for. Chu Zhao you deserved that Punch 👊. HUBBY GOT THE AURA!! Man that was fantastic, he just punched CZ and even pushed him away with Force, ofcourse he's a military General, he's got the strength and CZ was slammed into the wall behind, XIAOJUE DIDN'T EVEN WASTE ANY WORDS ON HIM AND WALKED AWAY LIKE A KING! Xiaojue can't abandon the Xiao Army nor can he be her obstacle.

Shattered dreams

Xiao Jue walks through He Yan’s past with her so that she can experience it with someone and not alone. Cheng and Song get engaged. For as funny as they are, the proposal between them is like reading a medicine recipe. 😂 it is sweet and appropriate for them, but not particularly swoon worthy or romantic in the traditional sense. Feinu has spent the day and evening creating the perfect atmosphere for the generals. He really deserves a commendation for his efforts.😂 Xiao Jue has a way with words and feelings that is just puddle worthy. The generals pledge engagement under the plum tree and inspire young couples to make that their confession location. One in comments described Chu as the morally opportunistic one rather than gray. I had to look that up but is true as to what he is. He knows that a monopoly of military in one combined family could be dangerous for ruler. He makes a good point but is heartless in putting his hat in the ring as an option. I am glad he got punched and glad he was smart enough to not press charges. Fire and ice are far less conducive for pairing but his response…so what. Xiao Jue won’t tell her. They have been measuring for bridal clothes and he hasn’t the heart to bring her disappointment. He talks as a general so they can discuss Wutuo offense and defense rather than the sacrifice he plans to make for them both. He should have told her so she wouldn’t be blindsided by Chu’s audacity. Neither can or will give up their position but the emperor again doles out punishment for the noble and reward for the opportunistic.Chu’s guard tried to gently point out that their pairing would shatter like the candy, but he willfully chooses to blind himself. It doesn’t register that both our generals might prefer to be forever single . I have no clue why he thinks a woman so adept with weapons, that has no love for him, and who he skillfully cheated of a happy marriage by bending the ears of the emperor thinks she will acquiesce and say yes. She has already told him point blank to his face what she thought of his plan of clearing the way for her. He is such a good politician and such a selfish prat about the woman he admires. I am waiting for next episode to see what the other general has to say about things. I hope she punches Chu too.🤬🙄 Here I am annoyed with the writer that right at the end they have to push this. And since they did, they should have paired Feinu and Chu’s guard together. They would have made a cute pair. But it is also true that sometimes the warrior has to decide between family and command. Chu successfully brought that to a head for his advantage. This isn’t something he learned from his mentor. I think this is an innate part of Chu as a result of his early life experiences. He determined to climb no matter the cost. But this personal ambition of his with He Yan….will be the wall of defeat he can’t get over or break through.

Prison visits

Everybody pleads for He Yan before the emperor. He restores honor to Xiao family, gives He Yan her general status and Chu a significant promotion. The squad visits He Yan and to sign up under her command. The reading of the edict by magistrate Yang was especially poignant. The Xiao family honor is restored and Yang apologized sincerely and expedited receipt and reading of edict. It was late received, but he acknowledged how he was used, recognized the harm he caused, and repented his prior actions sincerely. Sometimes that is all one can do. Xiao Jue recognized the effort and sincerity of the magistrate and accepted the apology. The edict was hung in the ancestral hall and the sons bowed and shared pride for their father and legacy. Xiao Jue then introduces his soulmate to them who promises to take care of their son. Yan He says they owe him tonic for their deception and Cheng promises to comply with the order. Ms Song corrects him that she will handle it. 😂 He Yan visits her brother in prison. He still feels robbed of his identity and that her honors were rightly his. She reminded him that she started all over as He Yan and reached same status a second time. He could have accomplished that as well had any real effort been made. He wants them to kill him but they aren’t taking the bait. He shrieks incessantly that he is the general. I am not sure he has convinced himself. As they are leaving the prison, they run into Chu and politely inquire why they are there. Chu notes the handholding and his mouth twitches. He is not letting He Yan go and it’s a damn shame. His guard is lovely and capable and already loves him. She is worth a hundred of the spoiled brat Xu girl. He visits the chancellor and they finally agree to disagree. The chancellor only asks for his daughter to be treated well. Here Chu dropped an unexpected truth. He had no affection for his daughter but would see she is well taken care of. Here the father slams his head into the jail bars trying to choke Chu. His shock killed him. To his credit, Chu pleaded for the daughter with the emperor and rescued her from stupidly lipping off to the guards. She has no idea how low her status now is, or how her meanness and malicious behavior will backfire. She finally understands the deal with Chu and storms out. In courtyard Chu tries to get He Yan to take him to dinner. Xiao Jue counters that they will treat him to a sumptuous feast. Xiao Jue jokes that he will be happy to retire if life is now peaceful. He Yan counters that she wants to be a general and how did he feel about being supported by her.😂
