Was one boy truly worth it? No girl power in this movie.
The whole plot is teens bullying each other and breaking all the horror rules possible, but somehow too many of them stay alive. I did enjoy how layered the movie was despite the simple plot. Setting on the isolated island for female juvenile offenders (which alone sounds tragic), the supernatural components and well developed lore with interesting visuals, well done kills and even pacing made the movie an enjoyable journey. Yes, there was not one character to truly root for, and more likely than not you will want to see them all dead by the end, but the dynamics, even if annoying, were keeping my attention. All that said, the movie is too long for such an unsatisfying ending. If I have to sit through over two hours of teens bullying each other, I want some cathartic conclusion, not whatever this was. It was for sure a more interesting ending, but it just left me annoyed. I think they either should have made it more simple, or even more complex with just one more twist as a cherry on top.
Baipor and Perth delivered great performances. Both Ing and Aim were annoying for different reasons, but they played off of each other's characteristics well. The way Ing was slowly breaking more and more, while Aim started to lose her control and confidence - a game in which there are no winners.
The production value was nice. I wish some scenes were better lit, but it was not bad enough where I could not see anything. The design for the supernatural was decent, but not scary. Some kills were better than others.
Overall, it is too long to be called a simple afternoon quick watch, but it is interesting enough to actually sit down and see. Nothing groundbreaking. Simple, but well executed.

Dance Is Love
“Dance is love”. That pretty much sums up this movie. The dancing and the palpable chemistry between the two male leads take center stage, and their story is told through the waltz, the cha cha, and the tango as they lead each other on a journey of self-discovery, strife, and love. Yes, there is love, though not the tangible kind that some people might expect from a BL movie such as this. This is a tale about two rivals that despise and obsess about each other for years until the moment they hold hands and decide to dance together. These same two men who have never really opened their hearts to another nor probably even considered being with another man, suddenly find themselves gravitating towards each other in a maddening and feverish attraction they cannot explain, but only becomes fathomable when they dance together. It's like poetry, there are underlying meanings to every word spoken, every gesture, every glance.I didn't read the manga so I had no pre-existing expectations or biases going into this. I just knew that this was adapted by Yoshida Tomoko (My Tomorrow, Your Yesterday) from a popular BL manga, directed by Otomo Keishi (Rurouni Kenshin), and led by two of the brightest stars in Japan right now, so I kinda knew that this was going to be a poignant tale of love and woe as Yoshida is known for that type of writing. While I agree that the writing could've used a bit more work, especially that ambiguous ending, I think this was the best they could do within the limitations of a two-hour run time. This would've worked better as a mini series, to be honest. It would've afforded them more time to flesh out these characters more and give certain plot points room to breathe. An extra 30 minutes could've given the narrative a better flow with more scenes to iron out the kinks in the script. I don't think this was lazy writing, though. I believe the writers were just hindered by the time constraints. If only there was director cut somewhere and that they'd be willing to release it.
But everything else from the production value to the acting was marvelous. Machida Keita and Takeuchi Ryoma certainly delivered and are even dead ringers for their manga counterparts. They slaved for months to perfect their dancing skills for this, and for that, I thank them. I truly enjoyed the dancing parts in this. Their chemistry is undeniable that I could practically taste the sexual tension in the air between them. Their titillating scenes, though few and far between, are executed well. Suffice to say, I bought their growing attraction and fondness for each other. I felt their longing and pain. Sugiki tearing up as he watched Suzuki dance, proud and happy for the latter's accomplishments and also realizing they cannot be together encapsulates his complicated feelings for him.
In a nutshell, this was a great watch. I loved every minute of it and this will probably be even better on a second watch. Is it perfect? No, of course not. It needs a sequel and that is the only reason why I won't give it a rating higher than 9. I hope this does well enough to warrant a sequel.

the concept of replacing humanity with IA
at first i did think it was gonna be a natural disaster type movie but man i thought the plot twist was gonna be good, instead all i got was an underwhelming feeling seeing it as propaganda for the low birth rate, not only in South Korea but also the rest of the world; the irony of it being a child made with artificial intelligence, i'm afraid this didn't awake some maternal instinct but that's just me i guess. With the use of IA on the rise i'm afraid there won't be enough water to flood us all to extinction. I can see the irony of using IA to replace humanity but the water flooding being the main plot feels like a joke that didn't land.

56 minutes in and I got mad with the subs…
the show was actually pretty good… the translations not so much. So at one point (56 minutes in roughly) the Latin American dancer, who also appears in Alison in borderland of my memory, serves correct is speaking Spanish to the bartenders and the bartender says roughly what’s printed on the subtitles. His response is not “no way”, as translated…. His response is to sarcastically curse at the guy. The more that I watch/rewatch Netflix shows lately. I’m getting mad with their translations because they’re so incorrect. Now I grew up with Castilian Spanish as my second language, English was my first. I’m part Cuban so for me that language is second nature. I learned Japanese in high school on a whim, but I still watch all my shows with subtitles just out of habit. And I have noticed a lot of the translations from a lot of the dramas where the original language is not English are incorrect in quite a few areas. And I understand that English is primarily what is spoken in the US, but Netflix is an international company. They have Netflix in other countries that don’t speak English and my question now is are those subtitles the same for other countries? Was this review helpful to you?
Expectations vs reality
If u want to see acting and dance then u can watch it, if u want to see romance then you can skip it. I thought it might be raunchy love story with epic story. But i was disappointed coz it didn't met the expectations. When i saw the trailer i was desperately waiting for the day but expectations vs reality. Seriously half of time u see star in dark. If u want to watch queer themed story then u can watch. Just drama is going on nothing else. Was this review helpful to you?

I wished this movie was actually about a great flood....
I don't really know what this movie was trying to do. It just feels like a movie trying to promote AI or something, and they were developing AI by putting them in the most unrealistic situations? Idk man I just found it all stupid. I know they were also trying to be touching with the "mother and child" thing but all I felt was that I'm annoyed and confused, I don't know what they were trying to do with that. I went into this movie without actually watching trailers or reading the synopsis so I expected that it will be about a natural disaster but nah, they suddenly threw in this AI crap or whatnot. Conclusion: I hate AI and kids.

Heartfelt Watch
I really enjoyed this movie. These type of stories are simple and some of the best to watch as they don’t over complicate things by focusing on the main plot. The story was really beautiful. A very deep love story that leaves an impression. The acting was great so be prepared to bring out the tissues as it may have you in tears. This is a recommended watch!

The trailer made it seem like it was more than it was
TW: There was a SA scene and not going to lie with such an aggressive character like Latin I was honestly shocked it didn’t come earlier. The Ballroom guy did push him off. Even tho all SA is bad SA it definitely wasn’t graphic or anything. It doesn’t go far besides kissing and Ballroom doesn’t really have a major reaction to it.I felt like I should mention it cus nobody does.
Review:
Normally BLs make me die of cringe and it takes me like 5 hours to watch a 1 hour film. But I was able to watch it all in one sitting. The trailer is VERY misleading, I thought it was gonna be a raunchy, very high tension film and it really wasn’t. But honestly I could tell it wasn’t going to be half way through so I wasn’t that disappointed.
They really fumbled with the romance aspect. They weren’t lovers or even friends with benefits because they never f*cked. They just gave rivals with a little tension. There’s a scene where Ballroom guy tells him abt how he wasn’t like the nicest guy in the past. And then Latin guy calls him lame and goes to the train. But for some reason Latin calling ballroom lame compelled Ballroom to run to the train to kiss Latin… like there was nice build up on Latin’s part but this was genuinely out of nowhere for Ballroom and it doesn’t even make sense. Also at first I thought the kiss scene was a*s but after watching that part a second time it wasn’t that bad. It’s just the build up (or the lack thereof ) that made it meh to me.
One thing I will applaud it for is the scene at the end. It was nice but then they just kept on dancing and Ik that’s how it works (they explained it a thousand times) but I got a little bored.
Overall:
It feels so empty it’s missing a lot but I lowkey don’t even want a part 2 lmao. Also I wish the side girls got together. It had potential and they fumbled but it was still a nice movie. Latin guys fine ahh makes it worth it.

Left Me Confused And Annoyed
I have been waiting for this movie and didn't expect it to be disappointing. Usually disaster movies are quite entertaining even if they are run of the mill stories but trying to create a twist to the story ended up backfiring for the writer/director.The initial plot revolves around a mother waking up to discover massive flooding around their apartment complex. The water is rising at great speeds and she starts to rush her young son to get them out of the house. The son, like a typical child, doesn't comprehend the danger and adds to the mother's anxiety and the audience's annoyance levels. This whole section is quite good. The mother doing her best in order to survive and finds help from man who is sent to extract her to safety for her research.
HEAVY SPOILERS IN ORDER TO EXPLAIN MY DISLIKE
The problem with the plot starts when they finally reveal that the child is AI and created to develop emotions into an AI as the future of humans (bizarre).
Once the mother gets to the roof, the team not only shoots the man who helped her (important) but also remove a chip from the child's head that holds it's memories/data. They then show a series of rockets jetting off into space just as floods are coming in. This is odd since every place has already been flooded so where are they lifting off from? Not explained. While in space, the rocket carrying the mother is damaged and she is injured from the debris so she also extracts her memories and transfers herself into an AI mother. They then replay the scenes of the flood with slight variations each times. In most scenarios the son is missing and she has to find him and the scenarios keep repeating which is not depicted well.
Some charcaters retain their memory like the man remembered getting shot and works against the extraction team. However, the man is not real but in this game like setting or training runs should be an NPC. There are few more characters like this. So haven't they already achieved AI with human emotions?
The end goal appears to be to return to Earth with AI. With human emotions. What about saving actual humans? What are other countries doing? Is every country sending rockets with AI? No millionaires and billionaires fighting to get a seat? All rockets look the same, no other country designed a different rocket with a different mission?
SPOILERS OVER
There are too many plot holes, too many things happening that you don't quite understand and it made me womder what I watched when it was finally over. I had to read other comments to fill in some gaps and the more I read, the worse this movie became.
The movie doesn't really deserve even a 6 but have to give them points for effort for the VFX and the setting. It did keep me interested even though I was lost at the end. The plot was just too ridiculous which feels like they didn't develop the story well or ask questions like WHY and just gave it their all on the special effects aspect.

I'm gonna have to disagree with reddit on this
Alright, who decided on that ending?I really, really, really love this. Like, the ending was just infuriating. See you at 10 dance. Die. Give me 10 dance. Show me 10 dance. Show me the sweat and the struggle and all the practice. BUT, that first practice was insane. The first practice with them together was genuinely... It was so sensual and intimate. 'If ballroom is first courtship, then Latin American is raw eroticism.' Like, it was just too... I can't even put into words. But it was like, the way he was watching him his every move and you couldn't really tell if it was just to learn or more. Suzuki was constantly ripping off his shirt genuinely just baring his soul to this guy being so vulnerable it's so clear the way he loves hot and fast and passionate. And this uptight, cold, reserved Suguki waltzes in and taunts him with the 10dance.
When I saw the trailer, it was just so sensual. They were so passionate in completely different ways, Suzuki flaunted his entire being for the world to see while Suguki showed his passion in his unrelenting obsession with dance and the art of it all . And I don't know anything about Latin American dance nor Latin America full stop so this is probably coming from a lot of uneducatedness from my part and the fact that I didn't know nothing about the dancing either means i don't really have a say on the representation nor the accuracy but also means i have nothing to nitpick either.
The actor for Suzuki was just insane. He's so sexy as well. Dear god. One review said 'he just lives, breathes, and walks like sex' and i genuinely couldn't agree more. The confidence that just oozes from this guy needs to be studied .And I just don't know the complete difference in characters. They both have undeniable confidence but the way they present themselves, how Suguki walks with the air that he KNOWS what he's doing and the self assurance of his clockwork abilities whatever happens HE will be the one to control it and Suguki just gives off the air of couldn't give a fuck, and I am obsessed with the contrast.
But the thing is, I kind of hoped he would have seen Suguki the same way Suzuki saw him when he was dancing just imagining him there, i wish we saw more of what he was thinking and how he felt about Susuki. The fact that he was fully clothed at all times shows nearly the fear he has to be vulnerable. The last dance the way they both just entirely threw themselves into it and you could feel how much they were enjoying it you could see why they dance, there was no more control or lead it was 'love that made it whole'. It was just sensual, and sexy and erotic and seductive and just so fucking passionate.
Give me the sequel like yesterday hun

Biggest Letdown of 2025
I will preference this by stating that while I did read the manga and thus am not judging this work solely on its own merits, I did watch this movie with a friend of mine who has never read the manga and our thoughts were in alignment. The actors deserve praise for the clear amount of work they put into becoming competent dancers. The first 30 minutes of the movie has really gorgeous lighting and overall cinematography. The costume design was excellent. And... That's where my list of positives end.
While better than the manga on this front, the fact is that this movie is racist. The actors did their best to embody their characters as presented in the script, but the script itself is severely lacking. The pacing is awful. Rather than showing OR telling, this film opts for neither. The chemistry between the leads is hindered by a plot that only grows more and more incomprehensible as it wears on until the movie suddenly ends in a shock. In fact, the 10Dance competition, for which the movie is named, doesn't even happen before the movie ends.
I wanted to like 10Dance. I wish I hated it. Ultimately, however, I just want the time I know I will spend continuing to think about this movie's countless failings back already.

sophisticated and artistic rendition
Adaptation of Inouesatoh’s popular BL manga, 10 Dance, is a visually spectacular achievement that captures the high-stakes world of competitive dance. Directed by Keishi Otomo, the film shines through its technical dedication and the undeniable chemistry of its leads. The highlight of the film is the choreography, which clearly reflects the year-long intensive training undertaken by the cast. Ryoma Takeuchi (as Shinya Suzuki) and Keita Machida (as Shinya Sugiki) deliver phenomenal physical performances, moving with an authenticity that makes them indistinguishable from professional dancers.
While the film succeeds as a sports drama, it falters somewhat in its adaptation of the central romance:
Plot Focus: The narrative leans heavily into the mechanics of the "10-dance" competition, often treating the characters' personal stories as a side dish.
Relationship Depth: For viewers not already familiar with the manga, the developing relationship between Suzuki and Sugiki may feel under-explored. The source material's deep emotional underpinnings are present but sometimes lack the necessary screen time to breathe for a newcomer.
Costume Consistency: Despite the high production value, a notable missed opportunity was the lack of costume variety for Takeuchi Ryoma on the dance floor; a change in attire could have better reflected his character's growth or the different disciplines.
The film concludes on an ambiguous note that may leave some viewers feeling as though something is missing.
Overall, 10 Dance is a sophisticated and artistic addition to Netflix’s BL library. While it might require a "head start" from the manga to fully grasp the characters' sentiments, the breathtaking visuals and the production team's hard work make it a must-watch for fans of the genre.

... and if this never gets a sequel, I am happy with what we have. But I'd really like a sequel
Japanese BL movie, so I was scared about tragedy and a sad ending. Word on the street was so unclear about whether the so called "open end" of this movie comes with a positive or negative connotation, but ALL IS GOOD. All is good trust me. That open end is a serotonin high. This is a romance. The characters both had past relationships with women, 💜 🩷 💙 , and as the movie plays out, it's revealed that they are each other's professional and artistic inspiration. They're not just rivals.
Then they fall in love. It's implied that it's impossible for them to be together but my boy Suzuki was SMILING in that open end, AND there is this event in the last scenes, it's a stunning and incredible climax of the movie. It's on a level of delusion that it's either a mass hallucination, or 10Dance is coming in at a level of escapism that rivals Red White & Royal Blue, but we have to believe the impossible. We have to dream it into reality. Dance is about LOVE, and about the performers and the audience connecting. This movie does that, too.
The women deserve their own fluffy yuri spinoff. Tajima Aki and Yagamo Fusako are incredible characters, and good friends to Suzuku and Sugiki, and Suzuku and Sugiki are good friends in return. Truthfully, not always, but it is implied that the obstacles in their respective friendships in the end brought them closer together.
It's perfect. Obviously. Costuming is sexy as hell, and the music is phenomenal.

A waste of chemistry and good actors!!
I really expected more than what I got. Be serious, who’s sitting through a 2-hour movie where 1 hour and 45 minutes is just dance routines, and the romance barely gets 10 minutes? The dancing was cool, sure, but that’s not why I showed up 🤣. I came for the romance and the chaos, and got neither! The leads? Phenomenal actors with insane chemistry. But what’s the point of all that spark if they don’t actually use it?
Visually, the cinematography was solid. And after that train kiss, I genuinely thought we were about to dive into the real drama. But nope, it just fizzled out again 😭. This could’ve been one of the greats if they’d leaned into the romance instead of going full dance showcase.
