This was just bizarre

I watched this again after reading some of the positive reviews, thinking there must be something I missed in this story. But I still found it quite bizarre, violent, and triggering. I understand how the kidnapper wanted to help the suicidal man feel again and value his life. But using sexual assault didn't seem to be the best way to achieve this end goal. Then to see their relationship shift to a romantic one was just not believable. Stockholm Syndrome. If you want to see repeated and graphic male on male sexual assault, then this is the film for you. I have no problem with male on male sexual intimacy but the sex scenes were not sex, they were rape and it was just too gratuitous.

Why did I keep watching this? I really thought it would get better; that by the end it would actually make sense. But it did not.

My life, my love, my lady, is the sea

Full Ship was a 1967 film set in a fishing village on a remote island. Poverty and tradition kept the islanders in a vicious cycle with seemingly no way out.

Gom Chi is a fifty-year-old captain of a fishing boat and the father of new baby boy. Two of his three grown sons died at sea while the third refuses to sail. The sailors and Gom owe money to the owner of the boat who takes most of their haul to pay for gas and union fees. If they don’t catch fish, not only do they not get paid, they owe for the use of the boat. They are paid pitifully even when a “full ship” returns, sometimes only hulled barley. Gom Chi dreams of owning a boat and when his boss finds out, calls in Gom Chi’s debts.

Full Ship demonstrated the trials of living in a subsistence community and much like old coal mine towns where people owed their soul to the company store, the villagers were always in debt to the boat owners. Despite having lost two sons to the sea, Gom Chi could not fathom why his son Do Sum wouldn’t join the other men on the boats. Villagers and family whispered that time in the military and his education had made him “wild.” Gom’s wife did not want either Do Sam or her new baby to become bewitched by the sea as Gom Chi had. Do Sam’s sister, Seul Seul, was not opposed to leaving the island, but her fiancé Yeon Cheol was happy eating yams and being with her, with no desire to move to “land.” Beom Soe, a former islander who made money on land, came back and had his gaze set on Seul Seul. He also brought a dark secret with him.

The last twenty minutes were dominated by tragedy after tragedy as the Dragon King reminded the villagers that they did not control the sea. And just as with the miserly boat owner, the bill for depending on the sea, came due.

“To escape from an inch of regret, to leave behind an inch of suffering, those people were thrown into the providence of the sea.”

REVENGE THRILLER BANKS INTO A FASCINATIONG WHODUNNIT

A young dude kills a young lady in a vicious way. Fisherman Dad is pissed and plans to avenge his daughter's death. This man doesn't care who knows his quest because he's willing to die as long as the killer dies first. Our ML is tearing the place to shreds in a really scary yet entertaining way because Daddy Don't Take Prisoners.

But just before this long movie's middle it struck me -- wait -- they never showed us the killer killing the young lady. And all of a sudden we're inside a fascinating whodunnit. I won't drop any hints here but tell you the quest for the killer makes this a THUMBS UP to watch.

What I will say is the movie slightly fumbled the reveal of the executioner. We discover that someone inspired the killer to kill the young lady, but the inspiration was fumbled instead of compelling. Once you've seen this film -- and you should -- see my comment below that says REVEAL SPOILER and tell me if you agree.

I watched this because of ZHOU XUN (RUYI, IMPERFECT VICTIM, IMPERFECT LOVE, etc.) and ZHOU YI RAN (TO THE WONDER). They didn't disappoint.

It was not perfect, but it was perfectly entertaining.

Personally I like my zombie horrors with a dose of humor and I am a Hero delivers. I do think I might have laughed at some not exactly humorous moments too, but that's how you roll when you've seen so many horror movies in your life.

The best aspect of this movie is the fact it has personality. Having a normal guy be the real and grow to be a hero is a dynamic journey I love to see in movies. I do believe that he was too dumb and too naive for too long, but with how the story ended, I can somehow forgive it. What's more, I appreciated how the zombies had these specific behaviors connecting them to their past lives. Big shoutout to athlete, who from zombies' perspective must have been the MVP.

On the other hand, I wish they turned Hayakari Hiromi a bit later in the movie, or let her meet Suzuki Hideo faster. We did not really get to know her that well as full human before she turned, but after the change, she was not really much of a character to follow anyway.

The acting - good. I feel like the only person who truly had to show some skills was Oizumi Yo. The other characters were a bit too flat to requite a high level of performance.

Loved the design for the zombies. The eyes going sideways was creepy and the visible mutation was a great touch. They actually looked scary. Props for all the practical effects that made the movie that much more gruesome.

The action scenes were also great. Some more, some less believable, but I appreciate no one turned into a ninja or professional fighter. They all fought with all their strength and limited skills. That said, there was one scene closer to the end that did feel a bit long and I was really close to skipping few seconds.

Overall, this was such a fun ride. A lot of blood, a lot of killing zombies.

Hits close to home in a good way.

Today's the last day of showing in our local cinemas. I tried so hard to stop myself from rewatching, yet in the end, I rewatched it today because this movie has been on my mind ever since my first watch last month.

I thought I wasn't gonna cry because I know the whole trajectory of the film, but boy was I wrong. It still hits close to home. The storyline is simple, but it's so damn relatable. Despite some nuances, I know that we Asians have some similarities in our family cultures. I'm not Thai nor Chinese, but I still related to M's family problems and complex relationship towards his family.

P'Billkin and P'Taew's acting is amazing. Honestly, all of them acted realistically. It just feels like you're watching a family live their lives.

The cinematography and color grading has a nostalgic feel to it. And the music scores too!!! One of my main reasons for rewatching this film is the score. Kudos to Jairaroeng Studio for making these magical scores. Huge thanks to P'Pat too for directing this film! His works are phenomenal.

This is the type of movie that you'll be thinking and remembering for a long, long time. I just wish that they put this on Netflix soon so that more people watch this masterpiece.

Please hug your grandmas for me. Love them while they're still alive.

Beautiful, realistic romance story of an adulthood

Damn, I think this is the best Japanese romance movie that I ever watch. The plot was really good, portrayed the reality faced of many couples that faced the transition from university romantic life to fully responsible adults. The dilemma between career vs love isn't uncommon, and this movie shows them in a very beautiful way. There is also no apparent plot hole and strange introduction between characters (which I often find in many Japanese romance movies). I also like how this movie uses real-life references like Brazil vs Germany in WC 2014 to show "I'm still pretty lucky compared to them" and random online strolling on Google Street View (which I personally did many times).

Finally, get a hand in this movie. Really hard to find, usually when I search for The Beauty Inside, the majority it’s all linked to the drama, not the movie.

What intrigues me to watch this movie, of course the summary. What would you do if you woke up with a new face every day? This happens to Woo Jin (WJ), a man who designs furniture, who has lived with this condition since his 16th birthday. WJ changes his body everyday to an elderly man, a little boy, a chubby woman, a foreigner, etc… The only people that know of his illness are his mother and his best friend, Sang Baek.

One day, WJ meets Yi Soo (YS), a girl who works for a furniture store and instantly falls in love with her. Since his physical identity changes frequently, he continues to visit her daily, acting as a customer that she has never seen before. When the perfect day with the ‘perfect face’ comes, WJ finally musters up the courage to talk to her and ask her out on a date. WJ knowing that his face will change once he falls asleep, attempts to stay awake for as long as he can. WJ managed to stay awake for three consecutive days and made YS fall in love with him. However, at the end of the 3rd day, WJ can no longer fight sleep, he passes out and wakes up with a new face. What will happen to WJ & YS story? Will WJ tell YS about his condition? What will Yi Soo think?

What’s best about this movie, besides the interesting plot, is the realistic portrayal of what would happen if we were as YS & WJ. I can put myself in their shoes…

What I don't too like is the stupid decision YS made in the end.

That’s overall the story… Overall this one unique movie you can check it out…

Below I'll write a little bit SPOILER. So read it at your own risk!!!

==================================================
SPOILER ALERT!!!
==================================================

For you who want to know… Yes, WJ finally tell YS about his condition & they started dating. YS tried her best to overcome WJ's condition, but eventually it all came at the cost of YS mental health. You imagine your man changing his whole body into someone new. At first maybe it’s gonna be fun, but later you'll have trust issues & everything else… Like what YS experienced, it’s quite realistic, I can imagine myself in YS’s shoes.

After YS starts to have mental problems, WJ consult his mom & find out that it turns out his dad also had the same condition with WJ, and it concluded his condition is genetic. WJ’s mom tell him YS will be OK as soon she separated from WJ, cause that’s turned out happen to herself & WJ’s dad. Hearing his mom's experience, WJ decided to leave YS.

What would you do if you were YS or WJ? If I were WJ, I'd also make the same decision with WJ. And if I were YS I’d also gonna leave WJ, especially cause WJ first already left me.

Almost Love? It's more like Unfair Love

The beginning of the movie is very beautiful and filled me with good feelings, it is a young passion that inspires you to follow your true dreams, to be resilient and enjoy the company and affection that someone can have for you, but all of this was lost after from halfway!
What's unfair is that Yu Jiao Yang did everything for Zhou Can, always supporting his dream of being an artist and what happens? Following this path everything ends up going wrong for him and it ALWAYS seems to be her fault, even though she has the best intentions.
After some twists and turns, I hated seeing her alone at the end, while his life seemed to have turned out all right.
THAT GIRL DESERVED MUCH MUCH MORE!!!

What it says on the tin.

Kuchinai Sakura is a visually appealing film set in semi-rural Aichi prefecture, Japan, with a solid cast, an exemplary soundtrack, and a rather unexpected plot.

Yes, this is a crime mystery drama film. However, the synopsis, while looking like it gives away too much, barely scratches the surface. There is a complexity, weaving all the threads together to tell the story. Most pleasingly for me was the subtle but largely unexpressed undertone of something else, of a softer nature that plays to contrast to the stark events of the opening.

If you are looking for an action-thriller crime drama, best look elsewhere. This is a dialogue-heavy film and linguistically challenging for those who might see it in cinemas. It isn’t absent of all action, but it certainly focuses more on nuance.

The pinnacle of this film, for me, was the final scene. The choice to conduct the ending in the way they did was thought provoking, emotion-driving, and I love the refusal to give the “clean cut” closure many would want from such a film. To put it simply, this film does not stray from the realm of plausible reality, and that is very much a strength.

Is beautiful!

I ended up looking for the film by coincidence. I was researching the backgrounds of the actors in Antumn’s Concerto when I saw the story of Tiffany Hsu’s marriage to actor Roy Chiu, co-star of her film Man in love/2021.
I was curious, since the actress had a very intense love life and her relationships were long. I got to know Roy Chiu a little and loved his cinematic history.
The film was a choice by affinity. Is beautiful!I loved! I found the performance of both protagonists exceptional. He was a spectacle in itself...it's not without reason that he received several awards for the character. Bright!
Great film, Great distraction...although, I was sad with the ending.
Anyway, very beautiful, I recommend it from the bottom of my heart...

Transformation of Pushover to Mighty Guy.

The typical plot of school ragging. The cast was impressive. A normal yet abnormal boy transforms into a Massiha of the Loser's Club. The moments where the ML imagines himself in different yet funny situations were interesting. The urge of ML to make new friends because he never had friends in previous schools. Supporting characters were also amusing. The comedic duo of Namkoong Dahl and Yeong Seong and their journey towards friendship was worth watchable. Also, the teachers do not seem to be that serious. I mean they are funny. Overall it was fun to watch this movie.
The Underrated kind of thing. If you enjoy school bully comedic stories, then you must watch it.

This movi has something...

This movie has something value to watch.

This movie show us how valuable is life for to person who work with you some time, show us how easy is to disrespect your country, coworkers ( in country where is war and some dangers political movements).

When I was watching this I had goosebumps because we can see how communism worked and how they treated people there.

In my opinion it's really good movie to watch when you're bored nevertheless you can also learn about North and South Korea history.

You know how it ends but it's still amazing.

The synopsis gives you most of the details. You go in knowing it's going to be sad. You prepare yourself. But they have little moments where it's funny and you see the growth of the 2 leads. You see the fondness they develop for each other. It makes your heart warm and you forget there's going to be a break in your heart.

It's beautifully written. The acting was a 10. What I recommend is you have tissue ready and if you have a significant other, watch it with them. Hugs help.

Best Fricking Thriller K Movie!

I've only seen a few clips, so I didn't know if the movie would meet my expectations. However, it very much went beyond it! Everything was pieced together so well, and I truly enjoyed it. I could and would definitely rewatch this. Each scene was so captivating, and the ending was pleasant and pleasurable. The characters are interesting in a good way! I can't express how much I LOVE this movie, especially since thriller is my all-time favorite genre. I was always looking for this type of thriller with this insane serial killer with interesting characters, and I've finally found it. I've got to give credit to the cast, director, writers, and producer. You can tell everyone's efforts and hard work made into this film. This is just a 10/10 masterpiece.

Where reincarnation meets romance

It started out pretty good, but then the plot became so much weirder, and so did the age gaps. It's like Until We Meet Again (TH drama) if it was straight and didn't give a fuck about morality, so I wish it had expanded more when it comes to the connection between characters, like you know, the "love" lingers, but it takes different forms now, the characters still appreciate each other, but don't try to get together again, as a couple. That just left a bitter aftertaste.
Random commentary:
* They should've hired more actors to play their older selves, that one scene where they call Meguro "middle-age looking" while he looked exactly the same was insane.
* It was hard at the beginning to hate Tanaka Kei's character, but his acting was so good I genuinely wanted to punch him, specially when he's chasing them in the car, the face--- pure sickness.
* The soundtrack was pretty solid, it was also a very sweet surprise to hear Arimura Kasumi's voice in the credits.
* The acting was pretty good, I don't think I need to say that. Though the child actresses disappointed me a little, but that's a given I suppose.
It's not that bad overall but because of the plot I don't think I would ever rewatch it.
