The fluffiest fluff of the year!
This drama is like your normal fluff that you have watched several times at this point. But unlike any other drama, it hits the spot with perfectly done clichés.Unlike any other high school drama, it gave us a popular ML falling in love with a not-so-popular ML in a way that isn't cringey, but it was endearing AF! A fluffy romance that was done right. Their dynamic was EVERYTHING! Hioki's character was too cute to handle, no wonder Watarai was head over heels in love with him.
The storyline was this isn't something new. It's the same old high-school lovestory that I initially refused to watch because my brain is oversaturated with this kind of stuff and I avoid them like rabies. The reason I started this is that I was convinced by my MDL friends. I'm glad I did! (shout out to @Mademoiselle Noir, @Rainbow and @Thyella) I've been screaming "KAWAIIIIII" for 10 damn weeks. I'm too sad that my weekly dose of fluff has come to an end. I am putting this fluff into my "BL safe heaven box" with Cherry Magic.
Overall, there isn't much to say about it because it's plain high school fluff that you can binge to de-stress. So go for it, you won't regret it.

Heartfelt friendship and heartwarming love
I started this series with no expectations and ended up loving it without restriction. From the actors to the story to the music - I loved everything. What I adore about this series is that there was so much love for the details - like the opening scene where you only know what it refers to: the scene where Watarai's and Hioki's eyes meet for the first time without knowing anything about each other, but it is the start for the whole relationship.
And how much love were put into the supporting characters! From Watarai's friends to Hioki's friends and even to Morisakis brother Ryoto. All so lovable where one wants a story for each of them. Simply great cast and acting from all of them!
And yes, the storyline is all about clichés (school trip, amusment park, going to the beach, autumn festival ect.) , but very well done!
All in all, a fantastic, heartwarming, fluffy series that I want to watch over and over again!

Beautiful Fight Choreography
Every now and then, I get tired of all the romance and want to immerse myself in some violence, mind fuckery, and death. This doesn't provide mindfuckery, but it has the violence and death thing down pat. What I Liked
⚔️The fight choreography - Every time you watch a show, there's something that stands out the most. In this one, the fight scenes were it for me. They were phenomenal. I remember rewinding multiple times within episodes, with the thought 'How did they do that' being prominent in my mind.
⚔️The overarching story - Yes, the story does initially remind one of Squid Game. I don't think that comparison is a bad thing tbh. After all, Squid Game is the most recent and most popular show with this concept. However, this goes beyond poor people being forced to die for money and the entertainment of some rich bastards. It's a fight not just for the country, but for the characters themselves
⚔️Interesting characters - Saga is not your ordinary hero. Bro has some severe PTSD in the beginning. It's shown so well that I was seriously wondering how he'd survive the entire show, fighting all these people without unsheathing his sword. When he finally drew that sword.... Holy Shit. *standing ovation, my dude* The name 'manslayer' wasn't wasted on him
🌸Futaba - She adds an interesting layer to Saga, who sees her as his daughter. She increases the stakes of this game. You don't want her to die, even when you know that her being with Saga is a liability. It's also nice how she helps soften these seasoned killers
🌸⚔️The Kyohachi Siblings - I'm so happy that they're all headed toward each other. I cannot wait for them to eventually meet. The tension.... Oh boy. Plus, I can just imagine them fighting together. It's going to be beautiful, I just know it. I hope we see all four together in the coming 2nd season
🏹🌸⚔️Others - Kyojin, what's up with this Njinja fellow? Whose side is he truly on? Why did he send Gentosai to the other siblings? And how the hell does he know who everyone is and where they are and what makes them tick? I know he says he's a strategist, but bro knows way too damn much. I need to know how he knows it
🏹Kamuikocha - Consider me deathly afraid of anyone with arrows from now on. They highlighted him several times in the show and also in the last ep, so I think he'll play a bigger role in the coming episodes. I'll be sat for that
⚔️Gentosai - Hell no. Absolutely not😭. He's hella scary, but watching him fight is beautiful. Can't wait to see him in season 2, even though he scares the shit out of me
🔪Kanjiya - I'm sorry, but I'm glad bro's dead. He stressed me out the entire story
🔫Kawaji - I need the backstory on this scheming, cold man. I have to know where all this hate for the samurai comes from
⚔️Now, who was the guy who was introduced in the very last episode? Close to the end? The guy who killed like 5 people in seconds and proceeded to hop around like a bunny to collect tags? I really need to know what's up with this unhinged self
What I Didn't Like
It's only one thing, and that's the lack of self-preservation of the 'villagers'. Can someone explain to me why they simply stood around to watch as pple were swinging swords and at times, arrows were flying around? Especially when Kanjiya was around? He goes around stabbing and slashing any and evryone in his way, and the folks just stood there or stupidly ran towards him to escape instead of away... I🤦🏾♀️. I need to know who told the extras to do that so I can slap them upside the head

Short and Sweet
Summary:Nominated for the 7th Cannes Series Festival in 2024, To the Wonder follows Li Wen Xiu, an aspiring writer who moves back to her mom's provision store after experiencing obstacles in the city. There, she meets Batay and experiences the beauty of the breathtaking landscapes of Xinjiang as she bonds with Kazakh nomads.
Pros:
The cinematography is one of the most compelling parts of the drama; it features lots of long shots to showcase the vast sceneries in Xinjiang in all kinds of seasons as well as the lifestyle, traditions, and culture of the ethnic people. Words alone cannot capture the drama’s essence, and it’s one of the works where every frame is worthy of being a wallpaper. In terms of story, it's definitely not the strongest in comparison with “typical” dramas, its unhurried pacing is fitting for its length and leaves a lasting emotional impact. Furthermore, all types of character dynamics and relationships were explored (my favourite was definitely the friendship between Wen Xiu, Tuo Ken, and Ku Lan), which invokes a powerful sense of warmth, community, and belonging.
Cons:
There is a minor plot hole: although Li Wen Xiu only moved away at 19 for a few months, when she came back it seemed as if she was unfamiliar with the place despite the fact that she supposedly grew up there. Fortunately, this doesn’t significantly impact your viewing experience.
Overall Thoughts:
I started watching To the Wonder after seeing edits made by @_moonlitframes on Tiktok, and it quickly drew me in. The drama feels deeply authentic and reflecting, making me appreciate both the setting and its people more. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a short, thoughtfully crafted drama!

Our Golden DaysOur Golden Days is exactly the kind of drama where Seong-jae should beat his father with a stick to teach him a lesson.
The old, shitty chairman married a street-beggar woman who already had a child.
But now he wants his fully grown adult son to marry into a “proper” household?
What about the chairman’s street-beggar wife’s background then?
On top of that, he even adopted a child for that woman.
This level of hypocrisy is treated as normal and respectable, while the son is expected to silently obey and suffer.

Quiet, Subtle, and Emotionally Effective
Fragrance of the First Flower is a short series that doesn’t reveal much on the surface, but its strength lies in the dialogue and the characters’ actions and emotions. The themes of avoidance and denial are portrayed subtly yet effectively, making the experience quietly impactful despite its brief runtime. What truly makes the series work is the acting and writing. Even without overt dramatics, the performances and conversations carry the emotional weight, allowing the story to resonate in a natural and intimate way. It’s understated, but that restraint is exactly what makes it memorable.

Uncomfortable Dynamics, Weak Performances
Dangerous Queen didn’t work for me, mainly due to its execution. The long silences and excessive staring quickly became exhausting—the quiet felt more awkward than tense. Early on, the dynamic leaned heavily into a dom–sub portrayal, and certain moments felt uncomfortable rather than compelling. It came across like a story that might have worked better as a novel than as a live-action series.I also wasn’t a fan of the constant begging dynamic. The characters felt too young for that kind of portrayal, which made it feel misplaced and uncomfortable. Overall, the project just didn’t seem like the right fit for the leads.
The acting needs significant improvement. Emotional expressions felt flat, especially in moments that required vulnerability. Queen has a naturally strong presence, but it fails to soften when the story calls for it. Bo, on the other hand, felt restrained—I kept waiting for more emotional depth that never really came. Unfortunately, there was no chemistry between them.
That said, Kem’s actor stood out. His performance felt grounded and convincing, making him the most watchable part of the series.

Did Zhang Lei just being called by production team last minute?
I watch this drama because of Han Yutong and i secretly want to see her chemistry with Zhang Lei. He is one of underrated actor in short drama.Personally Zhang Lei screentime feels like he is second man of this drama or should i say his existence is barely there. This drama is too focused on Lu Yifang (SML the scumbag) backstory, but his acting was...errr not memorable at all.
I should give my respect to Second Female Lead for act so unlikeable from the start. Han Yutong still giving her mercy by giving minimum effort to not make her overshine the male lead. I was disappointed with lack of Zhang Lei-Han Yutong screentime and lack of chemistry. It feels Zhang Lei just being called for deadline of the project for replacement. The ML actual characterization was not fully shown since they decided to give SML too much backstory while the ML potential growth was being erased by production team for SML.
Avoid this drama unless you just want to get your blood rises by seeing SML screentime.

Well-Performed but Not Convincing
Poisonous Love delivers strong performances, and the acting is easily one of its highlights. That said, my personal taste leans toward heavier emotional suffering or a more twisted plot, and this series didn’t quite reach that level for me. Some moments came off as cringe, particularly a few intimate scenes that felt more awkward than impactful.I also felt that the leads lacked chemistry, though that’s purely my opinion. On the positive side, I appreciated that the characters actually communicated with each other, which helped avoid unnecessary misunderstandings—a refreshing change from similar series. I even watched the special episodes hoping they would ease my doubts about the relationship, but unfortunately, I still wasn’t fully convinced.

A Messy Predictable Story
This story has so much physical violence that I found it difficult to watch.Me Ri's ex Ju's (Bum June} role was overdramatic and totally unrealistic She would never have stayed in a 5 year relationship with that Asshole. She would have had a retraining order on him. His mother and sister' behaviour would have chased Me Ri away. Me Ri reaction to tolerating his return should have been harsher. Me Ri's image was trashed with this portrayal.
Violence towards women. This is disgusting behaviour that producers seem to like perpetuating in their shows. Its not funny and its out of date. Woo Ju and his family degraded the script with this behaviour.
The interaction between new Ju (Woo Shik) and Me Ri was sweet. The romantic side lacked any depth of emotion for me. The script smothered Jung So Min's acting ability.
The obsession with correcting dishonesty before the story ends is outdated. Just look at the world we live in. Some of the most successful and wealthy people have skeletons in there closet and did not follow societal norms to get there. What Me Ri did was gaming the system. I do not judge her negatively for that. She was an opportunist, an important skill for advancing in Society.
The highlight for me was when Me Ri met the cactus.

At first, a lot of people thought this series crossed the line because of its unusual BL theme. But after watching the whole show, it wasn’t what I had expected at all—in a good way. What a surprise! I absolutely loved this series and eagerly waited for each new episode every week. Definitely one of the best Korean BL dramas of the year. You can find more of my reviews on Instagram. :D See my homepage about my Instagram account. I was so invested in this show, and I have too many things to say but when I started to write the review, I felt lost, no words can describe how I felt about this!! So I'll just blabber whatever on my mind~~It's not a simple infidelity drama, I usually don't like the Japanese opinion about cheating and how it is ok for men/husbands to cheat but not women, and that they should be beheaded if they even think about it, but men?? Nah just forgive him, he was weak for a moment and everybody makes mistakes, just forget it for the sake of saving the household from destruction!!
BULL-FREAKIN-SHIT!!!! Cheating is cheating, man or woman if you cheat, you should be ashamed, and forgiving you or not is up to the other person, not anyone!!
Aggravatingly !! This sh!t was said in this drama by one of the characters, and who was it? The cheating husband!!
şaşırdık mı? Tabi ki şaşırmadım...
And she wasn't even cheating at that point!! The husband was so obsessed with belittling his wife and breaking her spirits, even his OWN CHİLD told his mum to do whatever she wants, like just break up and leave dad don't think about me!! That's how bad the husband was ... EVEN YOUR CHİLD TURNED HİS BACK ON YOU!! he wanted to save his mother ~
So when we play an Uno reverse card, and she is the one who emotionally cheated, she didn't even act upon it! She didn't leave because of Yuta YET!! she was still in that loop of forgetting everything and act like nothing happened and keep living with this terrible husband
at this point I just wanted Shinobo to leave her husband, even if she doesn't end up with Chiaki, just leave that piece of sh!t for good, you deserve better.
She was one of the most sensible characters, at least for the first half, I felt sorry for her after she took Mihiro in, she was like a mother who lost her child, and then found it in her!! I don't know what exactly led to this point in her relationship with Yuta but I believe he went to search for his happiness and live his life the way he wanted after he asked his mother to do the same, and I still don't understand why she decided to stay even after Yuta left?? Did she just thought that her husband will magically change into a good person?? Oh god!
Even after the divorce, he was troubling her after he got scammed by this bar owner, I have never been that satisfied about someone being scammed !! But that damned guy still dare to go ask for alimony!! How rude can you be!? No dignity at all!! I feel sorry she wasted 20 years of her life on that guy!!!
And Chiaki, my dear boy, as messed up as he was, he was attracting all the stray broken souls like him, with no way of helping them or himself, I loved how Shinobo was like a surrogate mother in a form of a lover, he needed an adult because he was a kid!! He didn't even understand how he felt or how he was supposed to live, his mother destroyed every tiny piece of him, and oh don't get me started with this bitch!! She is even worse than the husband!! I have never wanted to kill someone as her!! Like seriously she should be killed somehow because only with her disappearance, Chiaki can breathe!!
I sadly understand how he can't just cut her off, cause I may sounds like a hypocrite, asking Shinobo to leave but not Chiaki, that's why I opted to kill his mother's character, but seriously, it's his mother, sometimes we can't hate our parents even if they treat us terribly, that's the only toxic relationship that can't be escaped easily, however I really wished something or someone would smack some sense to her, trying to sold her child like that for money!! Ugh! terrible woman!!
I loved how Shinobo and Chiaki both cure something in each other, I was mainly focusing on how I wanted each of them to leave the toxic relationship they were stuck in, more than their relationship, but by the end of the show I started to genuinely believe that they really need eachother, it's not about love, it's just their souls that fits!
A new character was introduced in the last few episodes, which was the editor,, this guy is just the better version of the husband, still as arrogant and ignorant!! Why do everyone think that their opinion about other characters life is the ultimate choice!! Like what gives you the right to tell anyone how they should life his/her life!! The audacity!!!
I could understand the terrible behaviour from Mihiro in the beginning, she is as wounded and troubled as Chiaki, I wanted them to explore more of her background story but I'm just glad she had her beautifully perfect end a d moved on with her life, now independent and brave, but I couldn't at all understand the editor's behaviour.
Overall it's not a simple infidelity drama, it has more layers and much more complicated characters, I still stand by my opinion that cheating is a terrible thing and it's better to leave the relationship if you are not happy instead or cheating and ruining everyone's life.
My line of thoughts ends here ... I don't know what I said I just wrote what I felt after watching, this was a hell of a ride, not a simple story at all!!
Highly, extremely and utterly worth it!!

Revenge, Romance, and Steamy Chemistry — A Twisted Love Story
The heroine takes revenge on her adopted sister, almost ruining her life, stealing her fiancé, and even marrying her sister’s single father-in-law, becoming both her sister’s and ex-boyfriend’s “mother.”
Despite the age gap, the chemistry between the leads is solid. The hero cherishes her like a princess, and their romance is full of steamy and tender moments. Zhao Ting Yi looks manly and handsome, perfectly fitting his role, while the heroine’s charm adds depth and allure to the story.
Overall, an intense, dramatic, and deeply engaging mini-drama that I absolutely loved
