Drunk on Friendship

Work Later, Drink Now was such an unexpected comfort watch for me. I always appreciate a good show that doesn’t demand your full attention or emotional investment just to keep up. This drama is exactly that; easy, enjoyable, and surprisingly heartfelt.

At its core, the show is a celebration of female friendship. It doesn’t try to dissect every facet of what friendships between women can be, nor does it dwell on the darker or more complicated sides. Instead, it focuses on the warmth, loyalty, and joy that come from having friends who are truly your chosen family. Normally, I might take issue with a drama avoiding the complexities, but with its short episode count, I think it was wise to highlight what it could portray best.

One of my favorite things is how the three women are fundamentally different. They don’t share similar interests, personalities, or life goals except for their love of drinking. That’s what brings them together, but it’s their genuine love for one another that keeps them together.

The friendship is everything. It’s the kind of bond that lasts a lifetime, the friends who become family, the ones you share your best and worst moments with, and still end up at the same table laughing and drinking together.

They’re strong and independent in their own ways, and the show lets them be messy, loud, rude, chaotic, vulnerable, and resilient; traits usually reserved for male characters. They drink, smoke, curse, fight, and have casual sex, and the story never shames them for it. Their sexuality, choices, and identities are treated with honesty and without judgement. They don’t have to be extraordinary; they’re allowed to just be.

I loved all three actresses. Jung Eun-ji and Han Sunhwa were perfect in their roles, and Lee Sun-bin, my first time watching her was a wonderful surprise.

The romances are handled with so much care too. No loud, alpha-male tropes here; just quiet, sincere men who stay in the background and yearn. Even better, the women’s relationships don’t define them; they simply add another layer to their lives.

Of course, the show isn’t without flaws. Some storylines feel like filler, lacking progression or resolution. Certain characters like the intern take up screen time without contributing much to the plot. But honestly, these are small issues and easy to overlook when everything else works so well.

Overall, Work Later, Drink Now is a fun, warm, and refreshing drama that celebrates women, friendship, and the freedom to live life unapologetically. I enjoyed every moment.

We all need chocolate

A very cute healing romance set in the world of chocolate.

PLOT: The FL, an anonymous chocolatier, has completely isolated herself, unable to meet anyone's gaze except that of the ML, the chocolate factory's director, who, in turn, cannot touch anyone except the FL. These two wounded souls will heal and learn to love each other.

+++Excellent cast: I wasn't familiar with the two leads, but they are talented, subtle, and perfect for their roles.
+++ Beautifully direction, well-paced, and with gorgeous chocolate visuals.

### Personally, I wasn't interested in the second romance. The therapist, who herself needs therapy, is neither professional nor competent. Hiro's character isn't developed (I'm not questioning the actor's talent, but the storyline).

=> Very sweet series.

=> Série très sweet.

A mini drama that demands no brain cells

A Mini plot with good pace and less BS. So,the FL enters the parallel realm of TV dramas to serve side character's request of making her husband regret betraying her. She using her wit and calculated moves destroys this man and his accomplice the green tea ( FL of that drama) thus passing the mission. There is not much complexity in the story in fact this was something a watched on the subway commute to my workplace and it was a good time pass.

Cursed to be an emotionless product placement soap opera

This is a soap, but it's a supernatural soap with reincarnation, super powered gay characters, and multiple types of angst that were all good foundations that should have made this drama better than it was, but the execution was so bland and such a waste of the interesting concepts. This started off decent enough, setting up the attraction between Siwat and Thara and Khunkao being drawn to Siwat. I liked that Thara and Khunkao are actually friendly with each other as team members and in the business of saving people in the current life even before they remember their past life. Somehow as the episodes went on, the show forgot to keep developing the relationships between the three of them with them being the core of the story and it just dragged on and on until the very sudden end. Their trek to find the mythical place as so anticlimactic, it felt like there's still a bigger story in a few episodes when it's the grand finale. The ending with Siwat turning to dust should be extremely emotional, but it feels like just another Wednesday. Where are the emotions? These are two guys that have been obsessed with Siwat/Suraya for mulitple lifetimes and that's all the emotions they can muster? The whole story side of the show feels like placeholders for the actual meat of it, which is product placement. They mostly make the random side characters do the selling, but it's horrible on the nose and boring every single time. There really isn't more emotional reaction to a whole man that appears out of nowhere named Peem that looks exactly like Siwat either?

Heartwarming

Although I too really liked the entire series I just felt the last episode was way too rushed. every fight and confrontation was obviously meant to happen but they just bombarded everything in the last episode. And everything just got magically fixed after that. Yes though it is obviously fiction but there were so many real life relative aspects in the series that made it feel so relatable and thus it all just mending on its own felt unfulfilling, that's not how things work in real life.

At the end of the day Spirit Fingers is proof that you can make a good romcom without throwing in some crazy storylines, just needs to be cute and funny. The cast chemistry was good. Heartfelt healings and friendship, hilarious characters, it truly had it all. This show was very wholesome and everyone needs to watch it at least once.

Beware - This is a parody

I rarely laugh while watching a drama — at least not after the first episodes, when the fun is over and the real drama begins. But here I had a grin on my face throughout the entire mini-series. It’s so funny to see it play with all the tropes and clichés we’ve seen before: the long looks, the rain, the drunken nights… nothing is left out. Yet there’s no sarcasm or cold criticism, just pure affection and fun. Watch this if you’ve temporarily grown a little tired of the world of drama.

I was NOT disappointed!

This was a PHENOMENAL follow-up to season 1. This season did NOT pull it's punches. I loved that "Seong" went toe-to-toe with The Recruiter. I loved all of the plot twists, especially with #011! I wondered how and why our male lead wound up back in The Game, and thought that the way he did was believable. I even correctly guessed some of the decisions of the characters, not because the series is predictable- it's DEFINITELY NOT- but because I picked up on a few subliminal clues. T.O.P. was GREAT! I really enjoyed watching him "eat up the screen" in a GOOD way.
I was literally on the edge of my seat watching this season, just like the previous one. Good job cast and crew!

Needed to be stormier

The story of the the two couples are intercut, but still there's still primarily more of Sky and Pai and their relationship than Payu and Rain, which again feels like such a waste. It would be nice to expand more on Payu as well as Payu and Rain's relationship. Sig got a couple scenes being their chaotic friend who can't wait to expose Rain and Payu spending some bro time away from their boyfriends, which was pretty funny. Sky's actor looks like he got a bit taller somehow despite being the older one.

This is my opinion.

I honestly don’t understand why so many people hate this drama.
If you want spectacular CGI, acting, plot, costumes, whatever — then go make it yourself. This drama is NOT bad. You just don’t match with the genre, the actors, or the style of storytelling. That’s on you, not on the people who worked hard on it.

You have no idea how much time, effort, and energy the team spent on this project. And expecting Season 1 to be “perfect” right away? That’s not how storytelling works. Also, watching it in 2x speed (or even saying you’d choose 4x if possible) — seriously? If you don’t like it from the beginning and you keep skipping scenes, then just stop watching. Don’t pretend you know the details of the story when you didn’t even watch it properly.

I genuinely hope this drama gets a Season 2.
Fantasy isn’t meant to follow the rules of mystery, thriller, or detective genres. Fantasy = imagination. And imagination is limitless.

About the makeup and costumes — hello? This is not a fashion show. Not everything needs to be “perfect” in your definition. Maybe the styling was kept simple so the actors could move comfortably and perform the action scenes without being weighed down by heavy outfits. And if you want characters who always look flawlessly beautiful or handsome, go read a manga or manhwa. They’ll match your expectations better.

Many dramas out there have worse writing, boring pacing, or bad acting. But they air anyway — because not everything needs to please everyone. So stop acting like you’re the producer, the editor, the screenwriter, the cameraman, or even the sponsor. You’re not.

Classic

This is the kind of movie that feels....just right. Not over the top with jumpscares or not underwhelming and cheap , but one of those rare movies that i consider near perfect. For anyone that wants to know this story is roughly based on the original korean urban legend Janghwa hongreon .

This movie deserves to be labelled as a Classic
i watched this movie for the first time about 2 years ago and loved it,but didnt write a review since i didnt appreciate it as much at the time it was the second and third time that i watched it that really brought out how much of a masterpiece this movie is ,

The storytelling, cinematography ,ATMOSPHERE(emphasis on atmosphere) cuz its something no movie or show could replicate.

It really is a One of a kind movie
The acting was pretty good too specially from the neglectful dad ,touch starved step mother that lashed out on the kids , a protective and possibly schizo older sister and an innocent(possibly dead) younger sister

Disclaimer : everytime you watch the movie it gets better and better , theres more to the story than meets the eye , and there are these tiny details that are super subtle that can be noticed.
Its like a work of art ( left to the viewer's interpretation and carries incredible weight in terms of storytelling)

Imo the dinner scene was one of my favorites , naturally awkward and super uncomfortable to watch.

I reccomend everyone watch this movie .

Walk on By

This had so much potential. Yet, it was ridiculously executed.

Wife is abused by husband. Wife’s bff stepped in and decided to help bc bff’s mother was abused, and her client at the department store committed suicide due to abuse. Bff decided to be the heroine after turning away the other women in her life who suffered greatly.

2 women affected by domestic violence plotted revenge- kill the husband. Cool, right?? No. The idea was cool- then it became a comedy.

They had no idea what they were doing. Female bad ass-ism became sloppy murder, followed by stupid identity swap (how convenient) and more messy messy webs. Instead of a message about female empowerment, they fucked up the murder plot and had to be saved by another male over and over again. Even the male character was questioning why they were both so fucking stupid.

What should’ve happened- no identity swap. They plot the murder, executed it well, no suspicion. Wife learns to cope with her trauma, builds herself back up. Sister finds evidence, in the end, decides not to turn the wife in because she realized she also contributed to his murder by not acknowledging what he did wrong.

unpopular opinion

While it was interesting to see Offroad in a villain role and you can see the actors have improved a bit in their craft, I stopped at ep 7 or 8. I get dark characters, dark storylines, and I love them. What I'm so tired of in the BL genre is romance shown through manipulation, abuse, and in this case a main character (Peem) shooting another (Than). On TWO different occasions. Peem is extremely manipulative and cruel. But then Peem shoots Than and leaves him to be buried. (and cries about it while holding a plushie later ... seriously?) I had a feeling that it would only be followed with them getting back together and getting married. So I stopped. It made me nauseous. Can we *please* show some reality with this sort of storyline, or don't show it at all. It is irresponsible on the part of the writers and producers to not show what happened for what it is = domestic violence and attempted murder. Than went through the unbelievably serious trauma of the person he loved trying to kill him, and yet it is treated like a blip on their romantic radar. 100% not what a character should run back to with an audience of young people, full stop. I know that these series sometimes require viewers to suspend what is real. However, it's infuriating to see so many viewers seeing this show as romantic and swoon-worthy. I worry sometimes that younger watchers are internalizing this shit as acceptable for themselves and others.

Good general plot but suffers from uneven pacing and disappointing romances

Subjective Gut Rating: 7.75

The general premise and plot of “Fight for Love” is actually good. I was impressed with the first episode and was hooked. I then wondered, why is it only rated a 7.4? And then, I realize there are two big weaknesses in this drama, and the lack of screen time for Ding Yu Xi is NOT one of them.

Weakness #1 - Uneven pacing and dragged out storylines
Ep 1 started out with a bang and I was immediately hooked to a strong FL dressed in red, ready to scheme her way into the Wei family. But then the first half focuses on ML’s family and his forced rapid growth and maturity. The FL, who started everything, became a sidekick for a while. Still, the first half wasn’t bad and there’s enough background info, early enemies-to-comrades, family dynamics and investigation to keep me interested. But once the battles ended and everyone went back home, the second half started to drag when the focus shifted to the different romance storylines. I don’t mind slowburn romance, spending a little time with the ‘forbidden’ love and the challenges the leads have to face. I am more concerned about the other 2 side romances which took up too much time, repeating the same commentary over and over again. The action scenes also decrease in the second half with more talking and less fighting. This unfortunately drags on all the way to the end of the drama.

Weakness #2 - All the romances
I wasn’t aware that this is a jiejie/didi (older sis/younger bro) romance. I am usually not a fan and when Victoria Song looks so much more mature than the baby-faced Ding Yu Xi, I knew this is not going to work for me. In the drama, FL is 3 years older than ML. Victoria definitely looks more than 3 years older than DYX. On top of that, FL is away ahead of ML in life and love experiences. The chemistry between the leads is lacking. I wouldn’t say the acting is bad, I just don’t feel a lover’s romance but more of a sibling/comrades/friends relationship. I can see how ML could fall in love with FL, but I can’t see it the other way around. There are 3 other romances in the drama. Instead of focusing and executing 2 really good romances, I ended up feeling disappointed in all. The spoiled couple is the least interesting. Doc and General could be cute but it drags on for way too long, repeating the same concerns and pushy habits. The toxic relationship is supposed to be the most interesting, and even that is missing some hot, sizzling chemistry. If you are expecting a great romance in a drama titled “Fight for Love”, you will be disappointed.

Having said all that, there are still many things I like about the drama:

1) I love the initial setup and chemistry between FL and the Eldest Wei brother. Their beginning could be a whole drama itself. I can see a drama about them forming a partnership/marriage of convenience and then eventually fall in love, while investigating. In just a few episodes, I feel that Victoria Song has more chemistry with Zhang Tian Yang (eldest bro) than Ding Yun Xi.

2) I also love the fights especially with such a focus on spear fighting. We’ve seen enough swords in a battle, rarely do we see almost everyone uses a spear. Victoria actually looks pretty strong and believable as a soldier. But, there’s still too much slow motion, spinning and twirling for my taste, but not too bad.

3) Acting is actually pretty good overall. Ding Yu Xi is awesome as a young, spoiled and beloved youngest brother, a love sick loverboy, a traumatized and hurt son, and a tortured but fierce soldier. Many didn’t like Victoria’s acting but I am fine with it. She’s not amazing but also not as emotionless as others claimed. Her character requires her to keep her composure and she is more mature than ML. The supporting cast is not bad either except Liang Xue Feng (aka boytoy Xue Han Mei). I think because his acting is not quite up to par, thus, the toxic romance is lacking for me.

4) I like that all the characters are smart. The leads are both strong physically and emotionally. I enjoy seeing FL being the one coming in to save ML during a fight, and not the other way around. The supporting cast is also smart in their own ways, and no one really makes too many dumb decisions.

5) The drama doesn’t really focus on the use of CGI/green screen. Money is spent on good fights, big battles with real people, nice costumes and styling. Although disappointingly, all the actors are dubbed, they are dubbed well. No mismatched voices and mouths, or voices that I dislike.

Will I recommend “Fight for Love”? Only if you are a Ding Yu Xi fan. I think it’s best to skip it, especially if you are looking for romance. There are too many other period dramas out there right now, and viewers can be picky. I don’t regret watching because I do think the general plot is interesting. It’s just the execution could be better. As a disappointed romance watcher, I am rating this a 7.75 but rounding down to 7.5.

Amazing chemistry ❤️

The main couple’s chemistry is undoubtedly the heart of this drama. Both actresses deliver performances that feel incredibly natural and sincere. Their gazes, hesitation, frustration, and affection all come through so clearly that it becomes easy for viewers to connect with them emotionally. Their on-screen presence is powerful, and their dynamic evolves in a way that feels organic rather than rushed or forced. Whether they are fighting, falling apart, or slowly finding their way back to each other, their connection remains compelling and believable.

Confused

The cast went around and around in circles. More focused who else the other people liked. It was like high-school. No one was actually making progress on wanting their ex or someone new and moving forward i found myself jumping to the nextt episode. No one was straightforward thry kept being unsure on every level. Too much repeating back and forth conversations. They kept jumping around. No one was clear on anything so i was disappointed and this season was a bust . At least season 2 was more mature. Had better conversation. Drinking and eating like a college party get together.
