Enough of that shy high-school rubbish
Having gone through around 30 BL-s: Love Sea is one of the few that I'd want to rewatch someday. I'm just too old for that high-school romance, but Love Sea is about a mature romance and it delivers exactly that. By now FortPeat is my solid favourite BL couple, cause I just love them both in unapologetically hot roles. The humour in the series is lovely! If a show doesn't have a couple of laugh-out-loud moments, then it's no good. And all these asian bl dramas have a couple of cringe cliché moments as does this show. But altogether an extremely enjoyable show. Thanks to MAME and FortPeat for this gem.
P.S. the female couple did nothing for me though, they could've just been omitted.

A Poetic Script and Top Tier Acting
First, I need to mention that the script was beautiful. He Yan’s moon line when they danced, Xiao Jue’s confession to He Yan when he found out how she feels about him, and Xiao Jue telling the royals and officials how he feels about He Yan.. beautiful and so well-written. I myself was swooned and repeated those scenes multiple times.Unfortunately, if not for the poor execution, this drama could’ve been perfect. As a start, I don’t know why they named it Legend of the Female General. Throughout the story, the ‘female general’ was not spoken of, as everyone knew the General Feihong as He Rufei, a man. I guess, this title could’ve worked after it is known that General Feihong was He Yan, a woman, which does not get revealed to the world until later in the series.
Second, I wonder how He Yan managed to hide her identity as a woman back when she was General Feihong but have it be discovered easily and quickly when she entered Yezhou Garrison. Also, I love Zhou Ye for the role but her built was so feminine. The shoulders, waist, everything was definitely not a man’s. Not to mention, I question how there were times Xiao Jue saw He Yan in a mask yet did not seem to have any suspicion that she is He Rufei, or at least looked like him. I wish the producers and director could’ve executed this better.
Despite the poor execution, the actors did really well at portraying their roles, especially Cheng Lei. Cheng Lei stole the spotlight. His built is definitely made for general roles so in this sense, he was perfect to act as Xiao Jue. Moreover, his facial expressions are a masterpiece. His ability to act out emotions just through his gaze was amazing. We could clearly see whether he’s suspicious, concerned, jealous, in love, just through his eyes. We could also see the change in his feelings towards He Yan through his eyes. Also, his lowkey corner of the mouth smile towards He Yan.. lovely. I immediately fell in love and became his hardcore fan after watching him in this drama.
Zhou Ye also did a really great job at her role. Although the execution, could’ve been improved either through the story, makeup, etc, it’s a fact that Zhou Ye was great in acting out He Yan as an independent, tough, ambitious, patriotic, female general. Her chemistry and visuals were perfectly paired with Cheng Lei. I have to admit that I ship them so much proven by how I’ve rewatched this drama multiple times just to see their scenes and hear the lines in this drama. I hope they get to work on another project as main leads with a happy ending.
In terms of story, it was definitely entertaining to me. It mainly focuses on love, justice, and revenge, packed in a light tone so it was an ‘easy watch’. However, throughout the drama, we can obviously see scenes being cut that affected the flow of the story and taken away that extra ‘spice’. Furthermore, I was so annoyed by the last few episodes. They could've just given us more happy scenes instead of forcing that one crazy conflict, but on second thought, I guess it’s necessary to show the kind of love He Yan and Xiao Jue have for each other, as well as their responsibilities as Generals.
Despite the things that I think could be improved, this drama is definitely one of my favorites thanks to Cheng Lei and Zhou Ye, as well as the script.

Boss & Me: from small offerings, trust is born
There are stories that teach without trying to. Boss & Me is one of them. Its charm doesn’t lie in grandeur but in the quiet patience of everyday gestures—how a lunchbox delivered daily can become a ritual revealing more truth than any dramatic confession. The series works like a gentle study of how affection grows through routine, and how receiving sincere attention can slowly transform a life.
Xue Shan Shan is the heartbeat of this tale: simple, occasionally clumsy, but profoundly genuine. Her humanity feels immediate and close; she is not an idealized heroine, but someone who grows through imperfection. That sincerity becomes the magnet that slowly cracks the armor of another world: the realm of the distant, efficient executive shaped by rules and restraint. The boss—modern archetype of success—reveals himself not through power but through his initial inability to name what he feels. His evolution toward tenderness is gradual, plausible, and deeply believable: he learns to express affection through acts of care, without abandoning his own nature.
The relationship between them is the richest exercise of the series. This is not a love born of fireworks, but a mutual education: he learns to feel without losing discernment; she learns to stand confidently without sacrificing her natural warmth. Their bond is built with patience, small mistakes, and small forgivenesses; it feels authentic because it’s never imposed—it is earned, step by step. Watching their journey becomes a gentle lesson for the viewer: love grows where there is time and willingness to truly know one another.
The supporting characters play their roles with balance: some stir tension and jealousy, others offer humor and comfort. Their presence enriches the world without overshadowing the central arc, yet the series uses them to remind us that no relationship exists in isolation—social expectations, inherited insecurities, and sincere friendships all shape the protagonists’ path.
Thematically, Boss & Me reaffirms that affection doesn’t need spectacle; it needs presence. From the script arise small truths that linger after the final episode:
“Daily details build trust.”
“Sustained closeness transforms distance.”
It is not a radical drama—nor does it aim to be. Its strength lies in the humility of its proposition.
If one were to point out a flaw, it would be the pacing: at times the series lingers more than necessary, and the innocence of certain turns may feel overly gentle. But these rough edges do not overshadow the lingering satisfaction—the sense of having accompanied a genuine growth and not a prepackaged fantasy.
When the last scene fades, what remains is gratitude. Gratitude for a story that reminds us love sometimes arrives in lunchboxes, in sustaining silences, in the patience of someone who waits without demanding. Thanks to those who gave life to these characters; may their work be recognized, and may it bring personal well-being to everyone involved.
Boss & Me does not promise epicness; it offers something perhaps more valuable: the certainty that the ordinary, when tended with care, can reshape destinies and teach us that to love is also to learn how to accompany.

Objective Review (i support the FL)
Overview:Very good drama overall, would recommend watching it.
Pros:
• awesome main leads- chemistry/ acting/ kisses etc
• peak dress fashion (unlike most recent costume dramas)
• strong FL (one of my biggest turn on’s in a drama)
• concrete story (not just putting together 3 love triangles with a vague plot)
• enemies to lovers
• well laid out pace and plot (doesn’t feel rushed or too slow)
• handsome male actors, beautiful females
• pretty convincing happy ending (personally I was worried for a happy ending given how the plot was developed but they did a good job)
• major plot twists- very juicy and interesting 😋
• nice fighting scenes (not just posing with a weapon)
• antagonists acted really well too
Cons:
• The SFL was a legit pain in the ass to watch- extremely irrational and irritating (spoiler: she had trauma ok, but, still a damn freak TT)
• SML’s character was heavily sacrificed to support the main leads story- general drama plot but a quick heads up :)
• Spoiler: cousin’s family of FL can be a bit infuriating (ironically comical too) but honestly MUCH better than the SFL
• Spoiler: the antagonist was seriously blinded with love (I didn’t quite like the part but yea, much more bearable than the SFL)
My advice:
• First time watch: might wanna watch the SFL and FL’s cousins parts on 2x
• Second or more watch: god damn skip that SFL 💀 (me when I rewatch.)
Summary:
Barring the SFL (she does do a good thing here and there but it honestly far overshadows the bad she does) its an excellent drama overall.

YOUR SIGN TO IGNORE THE COMMENTS AND WATCH THIS!
I'm writing this review because I'm incensed by the hate I've seen on this drama here, and I fear it may lead some to bypass this fantastic watch. Some of the major discontent comes from..."What genheral, what legend? it was more like the romance of the female general..."
First of all, very sexist that a girl can't get it while toppling heads, severing limbs and shit...
Second, In my understanding, the legend existed, even before the drama started, right from the first episode. The general, He Refui, was already acclaimed and renowned. We got to watch her hard work and determination since she started out. Got to see her succeed and exceed in her family's expectations. We saw her journey in the Academy and the recognition that led her to get the twin sword. Saying that she wasn't really a general is just hate speech.
The drama focuses on her journey to reclaiming and owning her title, AS A FEMALE... it is the whole point of the drama, as the TITLE suggests. She went back from the start, worked harder, proved herself again, and again, and in the process, fell in love.
The legend of the female general doesn't show much of battles and wars, and all the gory details that come with the rank, at least not that much. But they show the rise, fall and rise again of a fierce,h ardworking girl. that she got a man in the end, doesn't negate all her prowess!!!!!!!!!!!
He Yan worked so hard; she gained recognition and respect from her peers, even after they found out she was female. Her reclaiming her legendary title is just icing on the cake.
That being said, yes, please watch the drama; it is a perfect blend of all the emotions you'd want to experience from a historical war drama. The love triangle doesn't want to make you pull out your nails, and the FL isn't nauseatingly dumb with a nasally child-like voice. The ML isn't some damaged psycho who gets a rushed redemption. I think the hype and wait were worth it.
Think Mulan, without the snarky, sassy dragon side-kick....
I waited till it finished airing, and watched it in one sitting while doing my hair, I'd watch it again.
P.S
Dudu can get it...

A Bold and Steamy Step for Korean BL
Tide of Love is our first Korean BL that leans into BDSM and while it is not as explicit as Thai or Japanese BLs, I still really enjoyed it. I already love both main leads from Sweetheart Service and Myeong continues to impress me with every role. He is tall, handsome and incredibly attractive which makes every scene with him even more captivating. The kiss scenes and the erotic moments are definitely the highlights. They are intimate, well shot and full of chemistry.
My only criticisms are the very weak plot and the editing issues. Some scenes feel mismatched with the audio and the pacing suffers because each episode is only around ten minutes. I wish it were longer because the potential is there.
Despite its flaws, Tide of Love is still a fun, hot and refreshing BL to watch and a bold step for Korean BL content.

entertaining without the quality
Look I’m not a fan of BDSM when it comes to BL at all (no hate to anyone who is) and I was bored and decided to give this a shot because why not??BOY maybe because I am not too critical or phased about things but this was entertainment - the acting is good, the characters are good, the ML Jaehoon is crazy and controlling but I was just surprised at the scenes!!! Like damn!! Jaehoon’s actor is so good!!
If you watch this, please do not expect a quality production (especially the audio and camera work), I’m pretty sure it’s low budget and some edits were awkward but I like it enough to see to the end.

A Mature and Addictive Love Triangle that Stands Out from GMMTV this Year
So many GMMTV BL series are airing right now, but Burnout Syndrome truly feels different. This is not the usual university BL. It is a more mature story built around a captivating love triangle between Off, Gun and Dew. I already love OffGun from Not Me and the addition of Dew brings a fresh dynamic that fits perfectly into the plot.I absolutely love height differences in this BL! Gun being 168 cm, the shortest artist in GMMTV, paired with Drew at 190 cm, the tallest artist, is already giving me butterflies. This love triangle with Off is going to be so much fun to watch! I’m so happy it’s airing on Wednesday nights because my Fridays and Saturdays are already packed with BLs.
The few first episode delivered a strong start. The plot is engaging, all three characters have presence and the dark bar atmosphere with its sensual music pulled me in instantly. Burnout Syndrome is shaping up to be one of the standout GMMTV BLs of the year and I cannot wait for the next episode.

For me Kamen Rider Decade is better than Kamen Rider Zi-O but sadly Zi-O gets proper ending and more episodes than Decade, even without proper ending and other issues Decade is still better than many Heisei Era KR shows that had more episodes but test viewer patience i.e. the start is great then it drags, then around last few episodes things get interesting but for some even the last part is tiring, since I am not a hardcore tokusatsu fan who watch this series like any normal TV series so what I like may not be same for the fans of the series etc.

"Bon Appetit, Your Majesty"? NO, it's "Come look, a travesty"
Ok, first of all, I started this K-drama with high hopes, as an avid K-drama watcher I had been meaning to watch this drama for a while now, It had been reccomended to me by many people and the story SOUNDED interesting. So I started watching episode one, and I was happy for the most part, and then the mings came over and they started dragging it on so much, like half those episodes weren't even neccesary, waste of everybody's time. Also the effects when they were eating the food were very funny but the ogolgye samgyetang one was literally AI and nobody is telling me otherwise because you cannot be that lazy.Yes the Female lead had good acting but it was like, "omg look at me I'm brazen, I can stand up to men, I know how to cook." and then suddenly "Jeonha jeonha jeonha" she played her part very well but it is the writing THAT IS SO WEAK LIKE SOOOOOOOOO WEEEEAAAAAAK. Girl please whoever wrote this absolute crap needs to go in time out.
I liked Gil-Geum in this and I also liked the jester dude he was really nice and had chemistry with everyone, literally everyone, especially that soldier dude who was always with the king. The inventor was the best dude in the show and he needs a raise.
OH GOD KANG MOK JA GIRL I HATE YOU SO MUCH but, she was the best actress out of all of them, that lady knows how to play her psycho characters realllllyy well. Ok the King dude was really good at acting and he was funny during most of it, but it was so badly put together that everybody in this show was BIPOLAR SO DAMN BIPOLAR.
WHAT WAS THAT ENDING???????????????????????
SO RUSHED I WAS CRYING, SO SAD I WAS CRYING , SO DAMN STUPID I WAS CRYING.
bro I literally saw the ending, the bro Yi Heon somehow timetravelled and he gets to live here now and then they go "How did he get here, well thats a secret." THE REAL SECRET HERE IS WHY THE HELL THIS WAS WRITTEN LIKE THIS AND ALLOWED TO AIR AND WHY IS THERE SO MUCH HYPE GOD I SWEAR. I SHUT MY LAPTOP AS SOON AS I HEARD BRO SAY ITS A SECRET, THEN I WENT TO CRASH OUT FOR 5 MINUTES. The first thought I had was whoever wrote this shit was on drugs, high or going through a midlife crisis because what the hell. I hated this ending more than i hated the ending of "Where stars land" .
Lastly I believe all the watchers of this k-drama deserve an apology for having 12 hours of our lives wasted on garbage. and this could come in the form of a special episode BUT YOU GUYS AREN'T THAI BL COMPANIES SO YOU DONT CARE BUT WHATEVER.
Overall, dont watch this drama, please dont waste your time.

A Tale of Three Princes: Betrayal, War, and the Cost of Love
This drama delivers a captivating blend of political intrigue, emotional depth, and standout performances—particularly from Liu Xue Yi and Wu Jin Yan. Their onscreen chemistry anchors the story. Liu Xue Yi truly mesmerises with his extraordinary range. He shifts effortlessly between personas: the unhinged lunatic, the earnest and devoted lover, the proud and calculating prince, and the authoritative general. He looks perfectly cast in every role he embodies, even when flashing a chillingly elegant evil smile. Their interesting performance is backed by a stellar supporting cast that delivers nuance, energy, and emotional depth. The first two-thirds of the drama are its strongest, driven by the fierce and relentless battle between the first and third princes. The third prince fights to expose his brother’s sinister schemes, but the first prince proves to be a formidable force—brilliant, ruthless, and consistently one step ahead with the help of cunning subordinates. These early episodes are charged with tension, strategy, and psychological warfare, making them thoroughly gripping.
After the downfall of the primary villain, the narrative temporarily loses its sharp edge as it shifts into a love triangle involving Jing He (Liu Xue Yi) and the prince of Xiyan. While still emotionally engaging, this middle arc lacks the intensity and high stakes that defined the earlier political conflict.
Fortunately, the momentum returns when war looms between Xiyan and the Yan dynasty. Jing He steps into the role of general, defending a vulnerable border town with only a small, under-equipped defence team against an overwhelming invading force. This part of the drama restores its urgency and strategic depth, showcasing Jing He’s resilience, intelligence, and quiet heroism.
The story as a whole blends tension with poignant, bittersweet moments, especially as characters mourn lost loved ones or grapple with unreciprocated emotions. And the soundtrack ties it all together, a gentle, lingering melody wrapped in lyrics that tug at the heart, echoing every tender moment on screen. Nearly every song is a hit with me.
Like many historical-fantasy dramas, it is not free from quirks—mystical fake-death techniques, impossible poisons, and the occasional head-scratching decision, such as a brilliant character offering himself as a test subject for an antidote on the eve of war. Yet these tropes, while noticeable, do not overshadow the strengths of the narrative.
Overall, this is a drama that is gripping, emotional, and elevated by outstanding acting. Its official rating of 7.9 on Mydramalist.com feels too low. In truth, it deserves a solid **8.5 to 9** on kisskh. A highly recommended watch.
I actually return to change my rating from a 9 to a 9.5.
