Funny, sweet and easy to fall in love with

Honestly, Me and Thee is one of my favorite Thai dramas, and I gave it a full 10 stars.

I really loved the characters, especially Thee and Peach. Pond as Thee was one of my favorite parts of the entire show. He was such a cringy mafia boss, but in a way that was actually really funny. Sometimes the cringiness was so strong that it made me feel secondhand cringe while watching, like I wanted to hide my face for a second. But at the same time, it always made me laugh. As the story went on, that cringiness slowly turned into something really sweet, especially in how he treated Peach. It didn’t feel annoying, it felt sincere and kind of endearing.

Peach, played by Phuwin, was great. He’s a freelance photographer who works on and off with Thee’s creative agency, which is a big company that handles product shoots and advertising work. I liked how calm and grounded Peach was compared to Thee. Thee comes from a wealthy background with mafia ties and runs this powerful business, while Peach lives more freely and moves through life at his own pace. Peach helps Thee experience what life actually feels like outside of money, control, and danger. Watching them slowly fall for each other felt natural and warm.
I was also really happy to see Est as Mok. Est is one of my favorite actors right now, so seeing him in this drama made me really happy.

The story itself isn’t complicated, and that’s why it worked so well for me. A lot of how Thee shows love comes from the soap operas he watched growing up because his mom was an actress. That’s why his romance feels dramatic, cheesy, and sincere all at the same time, and honestly, that was one of the things I enjoyed the most.

What really made me love this drama was how it made me feel. Every time I watched it, everything around me kind of disappeared. The visuals were beautiful, the storytelling was comforting, and the actors played their characters so well that it made me genuinely happy. It was cheesy, romantic, and soft in a way that made the whole experience feel special.

Non-sense drama

I watched this last year and decide to discontinue this drama and reminisce my memory and re-check my decision and turn out i was right back then.

Plot is generic formula in Chinese short drama and getting more ridiculous SFL change the jade pendant with a watch doesn't make it better.

It was uncomfortable to see child abuse and lack of chemistry between Zhang Yuntao and Liu Xiyu make me dropped this drama fast.

A Dream of A Drama

A Dream Within A Dream is what a transmigration story should be, a completely self-aware meta-fiction drama that pokes fun at C-drama tropes, magnifying them tenfold and flipping them over their heads. It boasts of a stellar cast led by Liu Yuning and Li Yitong, both formidable actors in their own right, and coupled with a recipe for a chaotic yet charming and hilarious series that'll keep you entertained, engaged, and amused. I've lost count of the number of times I chuckled and laughed out loud at the sidesplitting antics of the characters and comedic vibe of the drama. It is simply a dream of a drama. Pun intended. It's a welcoming change from the usual tropey and highly melodramatic romances.

The story centers around Song Yimeng (Song Xiaoyu), a struggling B-lister actress who finally gets a long overdue break to work with a superstar actor in a big production drama. After a night of poring over the drama's screenplay and complaining about the absurdity of the plot and writing, she wakes up in ancient China in the body of the character she was supposed to play. She doesn't waste time lamenting over that fact, though. She immediately tries to adapt to her surroundings, a testament to her resourcefulness and decisiveness, which will come into play later on. But her spunk and wit are also her major flaws. I must admit, she was exasperating and unlikable to a certain degree at times. Her stubborness and narrow-mindedness brought so much grief to those around her, especially to Nan Heng. However, I believe she is designed to be frustrating as she is a dialed up version of the annoying female lead archetype. Li Yitong is a great fit for this role, she certainly has the comedic timing and charm for it.

Nan Heng, the male lead, is the long suffering misunderstood ML who is often abused, abandoned, betrayed, and would do anything for the woman he is pining for but amplified by a hundred. lol Liu Yuning plays this role to a tee, with a nuanced performance full of gravitas that I didn't expect to see from him. He's so good as Nan Heng and his alter ego, Li Shiliu, that he is now my favorite C-drama ML of all time, edging out Cheng Yi's Li Lianhua by just a small margin.

Similarly, Chu Guihong played by Wang You Shuo is the very representation of all the irritating love sick second MLs who are obsessed with the FLs and just can't accept defeat. I hated him with every bone of my body! lol The second FL, however, is a refreshing change from the usual trope. I did like Zhu Xu Dan in this. She was cute and amusing. Of course her tandem with Riley Wang adds to the charm of this series for me. The rest of the cast are equally good from Yimeng's family to Nan Heng's subordinates. Nan Rui also became a favorite of mine later on after showing much character growth as the series progressed.

One of the standouts to me is the musical score and soundtrack. The songs were not just chosen for the drama, they were made for it! Each song represents key moments in the story, helping tell the tale through their lyrics and melody, and making the drama even more immersive. I thought that was a nice touch, making it seem like they were breaking the fourth wall, “see what we did there?” *wink wink* The soundtrack also includes one of the best songs from Liu Yuning imho, and a catchy pop rock track from Tiger Hu that I will forever associate with this drama.

Sadly, this drama isn't without flaws. There are some storylines that were presented in the beginning but then dropped and never picked up again. Not to mention, there are parts when it dragged, leading me to believe that the series should've been shorter. There are plenty of suspend your disbelief moments as well, but I can forgive them as the drama itself is ridiculous and doesn't really take itself too seriously. After all, it is meta-fiction. None of it is real and the drama heavily leans on this. Fortunately, they wrapped things up quite nicely and the explanation behind the transmigration was cleverly executed.

All in all, I loved this so much! I laughed, cried, got upset, and became all giddy watching this. It's definitely the kind of drama that I would want to rewatch again and again. Nan Heng is now engraved in my mind as one of the most complex, sympathetic, and best written male characters in C-drama land, and Liu Yuning is now one of my top actors because of this drama. Until we meet again, Seventh Prince!

Leads lack of acting skill and charm.

I watched this drama last year and decide to discontinue and check again my decision. I was completely right.

The plot is generic, Biological daughter is constantly ignored and isolated at home but due to the deliberate schemes and instigation of her adopted daughter, her relationship with her family is not good. She got stomach cancer and died. She got chance to be reborn so she take revenge.

The Constant Verbal Sparring was usual in this drama but FL and ML lacks charms to make me engaging. No chemistry, no emotion it feels the lead only reciting the script. Dropped.

Cinematic work but weak in plot

At first, everything looks pretty and the tone of the visual was so cool, with dark brown wood of the buildings, combined with a splash of bold colour like red, teal blue, green, or yellow. The story however is nothing special. Same old same old. A woman being wrongfully condemned but able to rise with her wit and logic. The acting of everyone are superb though. Again, i absolutely love Princess Wanning, though some of her motive were questionable but her being a villain was so captivating. The ending was so unnecessary and so unnatural. Feels like it was made just for cinematic purpose.

New face of gumiho, the strong type one!

I think the beginning of the drama depicts as how it will end, we will never know until we finish watch what will happen to siyeol and eunho cause it somehow looks tragic, but the comedy and the interaction of the characters confuses me on how will the story finally will unfold.. eunho has been avoiding not becoming human all her life but what will actually happen when siyeol exist? The first 2 episode already gave intense story, the writer said the 3rd ep will start the actual story, so I can't wait!

this is amazing

I love everything about this drama: the actors, the plot, the music, the chemistry! My eyes, ears, brain, and heart are enjoying it immensely. I'm amazed and delighted at how they managed to blend both humor and drama so seamlessly into this drama! You could turn it into quotes and memes!
What images the fox has! A gumiho who relies only on her magical powers and a man who relies only on himself and stubbornly pursues his goal no matter what! It's an interesting and dynamic story.

Uncomplete drama

I watched this around January 2024 and didn't know the title and actors back then.

Plot is about FL who transmigrated into lovesick FL who betrayed by SML--high rising actor. SML and SFL went to dating show to promote their CP. While FL want to join dating agency to expose SML bad behavior and clean her name. FL motto is "Since I'm here, I'll go crazy," didn't care about scrutiny from viewers. ML just want to join dating show for last minute for FL and her chaotic action. Personally, I think this is the best adaptation. The theme is novel, the characters are perfect, FL is incredibly intelligent and strong, never suffers a loss, has a beautiful spirit, and is fair to everyone. I feel FL is real Shi Xuejing.

Wen Yuan didn't have any screen time than SML and there is less romantic moment since this drama focusing on FL antics.

The ending was quite abrupt, leaving viewers wanting more. Looking forward to season two (which is never happened again).

Everything was so smooth by Netflix!

Some of the beginning episodes were simply cute—the kind of cute that feels effortless rather than forced. The chemistry between GYJ and KSH was immediately apparent, flowing naturally through small gestures, glances, and playful dialogue. Their interactions felt warm and genuine, making it easy to root for them from the start. At first glance, the drama seemed to lean comfortably into the familiar territory of a lighthearted rom-com, offering comfort, humor, and charm that made each episode easy to watch.

The OSTs elevated that experience even further. The soundtrack was thoughtfully curated, with each song enhancing the emotional tone of the scenes rather than overpowering them. Wonstein’s track, in particular, stood out—it carried a soft melancholy beneath its soothing rhythm, perfectly mirroring the drama’s quieter, more reflective moments. The music didn’t just accompany the story; it became part of it, lingering in your mind long after the episode ended.

As the story progressed, however, it became clear that this drama was much more than a funny or fluffy romantic comedy. Beneath the humor lay themes of loss, healing, personal growth, and the quiet struggles people carry with them. The emotional beats were handled with surprising sensitivity. Instead of relying on exaggerated conflict, the drama trusted its characters and their inner journeys. That restraint made the emotional moments hit harder—sometimes unexpectedly so. There were scenes that crept up gently and still managed to make me tear up, not because they were overly tragic, but because they felt real.

One of the strongest aspects of the drama was its storytelling and internal logic. Character decisions made sense within their emotional contexts, and the narrative unfolded at a steady, confident pace. Nothing felt unnecessarily dragged out or conveniently rushed. Each subplot had a purpose, contributing to the overall message rather than distracting from it.

The ending was especially satisfying. It didn’t aim for shock value or grand spectacle, but instead offered a sense of closure that felt earned. Every major character was given a meaningful resolution, reinforcing the idea that healing doesn’t always mean perfection—just understanding and acceptance. By the final episode, the drama left behind a quiet warmth, the kind that stays with you, reminding you why this story was worth following to the very end.

Disappointing.

I decided to watch this drama cuz of ahn run jin but it was a let down.
From the beginning i would say i liked it but there were too many things that bugged me that I wasn't able to ignore.
First of all the fl, she's way too naive or you can say just weird. It's like she was written with major doubts in the head.
Another noticeable thing is fl's outfits. She's representing a working mother kind but her clothes just don't fit that description. They're just not it.
And the cliches. There should be a limit to that. But there are just way too many of them. And unnecessary ones too. When I found out a little about the ending I was like that's enough cuz I'm mentally exhausted because of that duo.
And the characters , they seem to just jump from one scene to another. Like if in one ep they appear to be fighting / arguing , then the next ep they're just normal like nothing happened. It's weird.

I am intrigued ❤️

After waiting over 12 months for this show, I honestly can’t put into words how excited I am. From episodes 1–2 alone, No Tail to Tell delivers such a strong and captivating introduction to its characters: their personalities, quirks, and subtle nuances are immediately intriguing. The pacing feels just right, and that siyeol and wooseok plot twist at the end of episode 2? Completely unexpected. I’m still shocked and fully seated for what’s coming next.

So far, the storytelling has been solid, and I’m really looking forward to seeing how the characters grow and evolve as the series progresses. This is definitely shaping up to be one of those shows you can’t help but get invested in.

PS: Eunho is incredibly exciting to watch…every scene with her is a highlight 🥰

Not very satisfying but still good for silly laugh

Watched this last year but i just make review now.

FL is an empress. In her previous life, she believed the SML was her savior and doted on him exclusively. However, she was ultimately killed by him. Before dying, she discovered that the one who loved her and saved her was the ML. FL dies and is reborn on the day of the imperial concubine selection. ML and the SML participate. SML lead initially believes he will win, but FL has regained her senses and begins a sweet and affectionate relationship with ML, ignoring the SML. 3ML who loved the ML in his previous life but was tricked by the SML and became an accomplice in harming FL. However, 3ML is decisive and ultimately helps the ML resolve the conspiracy of the SML and his father, successfully saving the FL in this life.

Actually The plot is lacking, but it still made me laugh. No chemistry between Wang Xiao Yi and Shen Haonan in the entire drama.

If you look for romance turn away, but if you look for silly laugh this place is maybe for you.

the most beautiful romcom

This series was a work of art. You could see the love that the team poured onto it. I'll forever cherish the moments and laughs that this series created for me. Best rom-com in the last 5 years. PondPhuwin did an amazing job in portraying the characters, that may seem easygoing, but they hide so many layers in them especially if you read the novel they may be clearer than in the series. But PondPhuwin did an amazing job and became my favs, can't wait to see more of them.

Also, I appreciated the fact that the second couples had their moments too, without "taking away" the spotlight from the protagonists. Aahh I can't really explain in words how much this series means to me. It's truly one of a kind.

Unlikeable female lead & nonsensical villain

There are better dramas out there for me to invest my time in. I tried to like this but not even Lee Jong Suk could save this drama. As it was I had to push through to episode 7. I kept telling myself that surely the female lead had some qualities that were endearing. Yet by episode 7 I still loathed her. The whole story hinges on her reconnecting with who she was when she wasn't such a ________ . They try to make a comedy out of her flaws, but there is too much to dislike about her.
The second big issue was with the romance pairing age gap. 10 years !
They try to make a joke out of it as the younger person is more mature & responsible than the older one, but there isn't any chemistry & it feels distasteful & forced..
Thirdly; the alternative male lead, who is a better age match for the female lead, is written so poorly & his attraction to the train wreck of a woman is inexplicable as she is rude, thoughtless, selfish & manipulative and he knows it.
The villain is appropriately intimidating, but as of Episode 7 while you see how clever he is, you also are blinded by the fact that his reason for viciously committing murder was because.......the guy made him angry ? The real reason will be revealed at a later date (but as of Ep 7 you have no clue) and yet, when you do know, it makes his actions beyond stupid.
Once out of jail, instead of going off into obscurity, he's intent on committing murder for the same reason. It helps that the police are mind numbingly out of touch with what thier job is.
SO here are the problems:
1) Female lead gets a grade D for personality
2) Male lead gets A+ for everything except accepting that female lead is a waste of time
3) Leads have no chemistry & the 10 yr age gap is ridiculous
4) Villain is somehow both clever & stupid as he seems to have a one track mind but no sense of self preservation

Is the age gap trope of very young male paired with much older woman something that was common when this was first released ? Was it supposed to appeal to the fantasy of the highschool boy or the older single woman ?
I'm remembering that HighShcool King of Savvy (2014) also had this trope & it also didn't work, though it was a better set up than this because at least the female lead was nice.
