Beautiful Cinematography and a well written plot

This drama started on a very good note, just as I expected. The trailer was good, and I was really enjoying the first few episodes. I thought it was a fun romcom with beautiful visuals until Mu-hee’s split personality was introduced. I was confused because I didn’t remember seeing this in the trailer lol, but I soon found myself pulled in by that sudden plot twist.

However, I also ended up feeling disappointed by a few things. Mu-hee was always clear about her feelings from the very beginning, literally from the first episode. Ho-jin could have told Mu-hee at any time that he had moved on from his first love and actually liked her, but instead he complicated things. Then Do Ra-mi started showing up more often and made their relationship even more complicated. This part of the drama honestly felt like the plot was being dragged a bit too much.

Another thing is that I usually don’t care much for second male leads because I almost always ship the FL with the ML, so I tend to ignore them. But God, when I tell you I felt so sad for Hiro. I felt like he got dragged into all their complications and ended up getting rejected. From the confession scene, I could tell he really fell hard for Mu-hee. That doesn’t mean I like Ho-jin any less though. Even if his character was frustrating at times, he was still the ONLY one who consistently supported Mu-hee emotionally throughout the drama.

So to sum it all up, I wouldn’t say this drama was overhyped because it delivered exactly what the trailer and previews showcased. KSH and GYJ had INSANE chemistry!! The way they looked at each other whenever they wanted to be together was beautiful they genuinely had the look of love in this drama. Even the second couple was pretty cute too. After the slow burn of the main couple, the fast-paced relationship of the second couple was really fun to watch. The cinematography was insanely beautiful, and I’d give it a solid 8. I really enjoyed watching it in one go!!

I wanted this to be so much more

This drama was one of my most anticipated dramas of 2026, and honestly… It disappointed me.

Let me start with the positives, because there are quite a few. I loved seeing KSH back in a romance drama, and the pairing of KSH and GYJ was probably the biggest reason I managed to finish the show after it started dipping. Visually, this drama was stunning. The cinematography was beautiful, the locations were breathtaking, and every frame felt so thoughtfully composed. Each shot was genuinely pleasing to watch and constantly made me look forward to the next scene.

The drama also started off really strong with a unique and refreshing storyline. You could clearly see how much effort the actors put into this project, and that sincerity translated on screen. If you’re a regular Kdrama watcher, the first half genuinely felt like a breath of fresh air.

BUT --- and this is a big but, the drama started going downhill around episode 7.

At that point, I honestly found myself wondering if I was even watching the same drama anymore. I was excited to see how the relationship between the leads would unfold, but instead, the show suddenly shifted its entire genre out of nowhere. What made this more frustrating was that the characters themselves were written with so much depth and care. Their backstories were detailed, layered, and clearly built with intention --- which made the tonal shift even harder to accept.

I’m not against the exploration of Cha Mu Hee’s childhood trauma. In fact, it was necessary for her character growth and for her to finally believe in the love she deserved. My issue was how this was handled. Unwrapping her trauma led to a complete change in the genre of the drama, which felt shocking and jarring as a viewer. On top of that, the storyline was dragged out for nearly FOUR episodes, which significantly disrupted the pacing and consistency of the plot.

Some of the logic behind Do Ra Mi’s actions also didn’t make much sense to me. I understand that her role was important in helping Ho Jin and Mu Hee interpret their feelings for each other, but did it really need to be stretched across FOUR episodes? I actually liked her character more when she appeared subtly through hallucinations earlier on, keeping it restrained might have helped maintain the drama’s original tone.

To be clear, I don’t have anything else against this drama. I appreciated the creative enthusiasm behind it and the risks the team tried to take. What frustrated me was sitting through the final episodes, internally screaming and repeatedly asking myself “WTF is happening?” for an entire hour. It felt a little deceptive, especially since the creators gave no indication that the story would head in this direction. At that point, I found myself watching purely for the sake of my favorite actors.

That said, I really loved the ending once the leads finally came together. I appreciated how they kept communication open and avoided unnecessary misunderstandings, especially after all the push and pull drama we’d already endured. Still, the overall issue remained: the plot and characters felt disconnected from the first half of the drama towards the end, which made binge-watching the final stretch quite difficult.

Still unnatural drama for advertisement

Aside from the obvious product placement, the entire series is just a generic short drama. FL is wrongly convicted and tortured in a mental hospital, escapes, and uses ML's influence to seek revenge. There's constant slapping, and the ML only appears after the FL has been tortured enough.

Chemistry between Wang Kaimu and Zhang Chuxuan still sufficient but not too overflowing. Feels this drama didn't focus on romance but revenge. Zhang Chuxuan plays the crazy FL smooth and Wang Kaimu styling in this drama is too messy.

Some scenes are ridiculously absurd, like when the FL is pushed into the water by a antagonist to drown, but the water only reaches her knees. Plot in this drama is too lazy lacking effort.

After watch this drama did i want to use the website? absolutely nope ❤︎

Proof That Not Every BL Deserves the Hype

This series… omg 🙄🙄 I honestly feel like I wasted my time for nothing. I was skipping through entire scenes because it was just boring. Cringe. Awkward. Painfully so 😬

When I watch a BL series, I usually feel butterflies in my stomach. I cover my face, blush during kisses, and get emotionally invested in the characters. And what did we get here? Nothing.Absolutely nothing.

I felt no emotions while watching this—no connection, no spark, no feelings at all. I didn’t feel sorry for the characters, didn’t feel sad or angry, didn’t get teary even once. There was zero chemistry. The kisses were awkward, the NC scenes were cringe, and everything felt forced rather than natural.

The plot tried to be about everything and anything at the same time, yet somehow ended up being about nothing. Overused ideas mixed with random cringe moments. Even the side couples didn’t fit into the story—if we can even call it a story.

As for the acting… the main leads didn’t deliver their performances the way they should have. There was no emotional depth, no convincing portrayal that could pull me in.

For me personally, this series just didn’t click at all. 3/10, and that’s me still trying to give something for the actors’ effort. That’s all I can do.

much better in the second half

Overall: the first half is a character being a jerk/abusive, I recommend watching episode 1 and then skip to episode 28 to get past that. The second half was significantly better with fun nonsense stuff. 50 episodes about 2 minutes each. Aired on iQIYI app. First few episodes are here https://youtu.be/TgcZwUo5tg0?si=g56BMS1HWuorK-Yp

Content Warnings: drugging, chocking, slap, sexual assault (in a dream ep 27), unwanted outing, bullying, homophobia, violence, punch, blood

What I Liked
- the parents' relationship with each other and their sons
- second half was much better
- character stood up for himself and his mom
- some of the nonsense was funny like removing someone injured from a hospital to care for them in a bath tub at home
- a character apologized
- meeting with the boss
- some villains had actual consequences

Room For Improvement
- bullying/abuse in the first half
- love triangle
- some nonsense was annoying like when would a beautiful woman need to drug a guy to have sex
- supposedly clothing was wet and next second they were completely dry

Such a fun, flirty, and sweet little tale!

This is one of those series that I like without really being able to explain why. It was cute and genuinely fun. I was literally giggling throughout the show because it comes with so much humor! It’s an easy, medium-paced watch that left me feeling lighthearted—which was exactly what I wanted from it.

The story follows Thee, a mafia-like businessman who meets what he can only describe as “the man of his life” and finds himself falling in love with a particularly sweet and kind photographer, Peach.

I had such a good time watching this. Thee and Peach made for such a fun, supportive pairing. They had amazing rapport and banter, and it was a joy to see them slowly fall for each other as the story unfolded. Their flirting was incredibly sweet, and I loved that their relationship was lusty but not rushed—they actually took the time to get to know each other before falling into bed.

And then there were these amazing cuties—Est and William—who made me laugh and hide my face in the pillow.

Overall? I laughed. I yelled.
Would I recommend it? Yessssss… but only if you’re emotionally stable enough to survive all that cotton candy.

For The Reverse Harem, Sub ML Loving Girlies

There's always something that draws me to a drama. For this, it was an edit I saw on Twitter. I saw Jianglai on his knees, looking up at Shanbao with those pleading puppy dog eyes, and they had me. Hook, Line & Sinker. Then I found out there was a reverse harem element to it and... Yeah, there was no hope for me. I was going to see this to the end. And that, I did.

🫖What I Liked🫖
🥰The Female Lead - They told me that I was getting a cold and cunning female lead, and they delivered. Throughout the show, Shanbao remains clever (and manipulative), maneuvering not only the men seeking to woo her, but also the tea business, and her very complicated family dynamics. Not once did I feel like she fell back and let the ML run the show. True to her family's traditions, the women are at the helm. And that's where she stayed till the end.

🥰 The Male Lead - Now, if we start talking about my love for male submissives, we'd spend all day here. All you should know is that they have a very special place in my heart. And my 'God, when?' prayer is still very much alive and well in this aspect.
Aside from the perfectly submissive man that Jianglai is, he's also smart and useful. My fear going into this was that he'd 'hide behind her skirts', always waiting for her to save him. Not only can he stand on his own, but he's also clever, ambitious, loving, dedicated, and cares about her business. Lu Jianglai's puppy-dog eyes may have brought me into this show, but his taking the time to learn about the tea business and help out where needed, without having to be told, won me over.

🥰The 5th Sister - Would I say I loved YunShu? No. But she was by far the most interesting of Shanbao's sisters. Miss Ma'am had me suspicious and freaking out for like 22 episodes. A true definition of a snake in the grass. She was also really smart. I respect smart characters, regardless of whether they are the villain or not.

🥰The sisters' relationship - In the beginning, it was tumultuous, at best. Over time, however, it evolves into what true sisterhood is. All the ladies grow, understand each other, and change, leading to a united Rong family. The kind that their ancestors had created and hoped for, for their future generations.

🥰The tea tidbits that were shown at the end of some episodes - I'm from a predominantly tea-drinking country but we have NOTHING over China. I mean, I didn't think we had anything close to them, but those tidbits showed me just how vast the difference is. The history of tea in China is truly vast and rich. Incredible

🫖Things I Didn't Like/Appreciate🫖
👵🏻Grandmother - Listen, I am all for respecting your elders, but this woman.... Yo! She had me heated. She was out here, increasing my blood pressure from how utterly horrible she was. YunShu and I might not have agreed on a bunch of things, but I was squarely on her side when she mentioned that their grandmother was basically the root of all evil. At least in their family.

She was supposed to guide the sisters. Help foster their relationships not just for their good but also for the good of the family legacy and traditions. But no, she made 1 mistake back when she was young, and her embarrassment over that became every generation's problem after that. Not only did she become like those rich snobby nobles, but she, a woman from a matriarchal home, becomes patriarchal - the biggest sin of all IMO. Believing that the man, the match between her daughters and some man determines their success as a family. She had zero faith in her family members

That person who called granny a 'dusty bag of bones' was on to something. She's entirely horrible, callous, and so judgmental towards her family. Let's not even start on how loudly she insulted a child of 4/5 years. I'm too young for a blood pressure medication prescription.

📚The story from episode 26, but largely from ep 30 - I would try to leave a note after every episode or every 2 episodes. However, after episode 25, I stopped. Clearly, that's where my excitement for the show started waning. But I think the biggest letdown was from ep 30. I don't quite know what the point of Jianglai's 2nd (and apparently OG) family was for.
At 1st, I thought they wanted to highlight the sad reality of the women from this time. The Rong family is obviously the exception, being matriarchal in a patriarchal society.

A quote that stuck with me from this arc was said by the duke's wife. It partly states
"Even if her father committed a grave mistake and disobeyed her grandmother's orders, as a daughter, she should kneel and beg again and again. Even if it meant not eating or drinking, starving to death. She should have sought her grandmother's forgiveness."
It clearly shows how the women of this time were expected to pay for the sins of the men in their lives. And were even punished for them. I thought that this was the point. To show the stark difference in how the Rong family treated both their men and women, and how the rest of the world did.

However, as the arc unfolds, things get weird, with the biggest issue being that Shanbao and Jianglai no longer work together. She seemed to be making decisions for him, doing that whole 'I'm hurting him to protect him from him/myself'. I fucking hate that trope. And then it was a family drama/murder mystery.... It was a lot, and for what?

All in all, I didn't appreciate those last 7 episodes. It felt like they used it to increase the viewer's anxiety about whether Shanbao and Jianglai would make it to the end together. Instead of all that, we should've gotten the final ACTUAL wedding, and a glimpse into the sisters' stories with their men. Namely, Yunshu & Bai Yi Sheng, Xiang Ling & Zhu Sheng (Jiang Lai's deputy. I'm making the executive decision that they belong together), as well as YunXi & her baby daddy ( I forget his name)

RomCom done right!

I rate this series a 10 simply because I super enjoyed it, and ultimately, that is what matters most when we watch a drama. However, beyond just my personal enjoyment, there are very real reasons why this show deserves its success. Many people dismiss romantic comedies as light or superficial, but this series is a masterclass in the genre.

I know they changed some things from the novel, but these changes are exactly what allowed the show to feel so grounded and current. Sometimes, what works on the page needs to be adjusted to capture the right chemistry on screen. By focusing more on the simple, pure connection between Thee and Peach rather than sticking strictly to every detail of the book, the creators were able to highlight the emotional honesty of their relationship. These adjustments didn't take away from the story but they made the love feel more direct and the comedy feel more alive.

There is a common misconception that a plot must be complex or heavy to be "good." Personally, I do not mind a plot that some might call shallow if it is built on comedy and joy. Not every story needs to be a dark drama to have value. The energetic humor and lighthearted antics in the show provide a sense of levity that is often missing from more serious series. This style of storytelling allows the audience to relax and enjoy the journey without being weighed down by unnecessary gloom. It stays grounded by focusing on the fun, chaotic reality of two different worlds colliding.

Most importantly, the world needs more stories that celebrate simple love. We are often overwhelmed by dramas filled with heavy obstacles, traumatic backstories, and a thousand complex reasons why two people cannot be together. This show stands out because it focuses on a pure connection that does not need a complicated justification. It is a story about two people who simply find happiness in each other. This kind of effortless affection is beautiful, proving that LOVE DOES NOT ALWAYS HAVE TO BE A STRUGGLE TO BE MEANINGFUL.

Thank you Peach and Thee for your story!

I Was Clapping at the End: Why Glory Is a Must-Watch

This was a complete drama from the very first episode to the final scene. Start to finish, Glory knew exactly what it wanted to be and it delivered. No wasted episodes. No dragging storylines. No messy ending. Everything mattered, everything landed, and when the credits rolled, I was literally clapping my hands.

That is how you know a drama is good.

The pacing was perfect and the storytelling stayed tight the whole way through. Nothing felt rushed, nothing felt dragged out, and the emotional payoff hit hard because the drama actually put in the work early on. Every relationship, every conflict, every decision felt earned.

What really made this drama stand out for me was how smart it was. The female lead was intelligent, cunning, and always thinking three steps ahead. The male lead was just as sharp. Neither of them was dumbed down for the plot, and I loved that. When they teamed up, they were completely unstoppable. Their partnership was one of the most satisfying parts of the entire show.

The writing never slipped. Not once. Just when I thought I knew where the story was going, they would hit me with a twist and suddenly everything changed. The characters did not feel flat or predictable at all. They felt real, layered, and alive.

Nazha, Gulnezer Bextiyar absolutely killed it as Rong Shanbao. I was already a fan, but after this role, I am a full STAN. She owned that character from beginning to end. Neo Hou, Hou Ming Hao, is seriously one of the hardest working men in C-dramas right now. He is everywhere and I am not complaining. He was phenomenal here, and he matched Nazha’s energy perfectly. Together, they just worked.

This is 100 percent a female-empowering drama. Yes, there are a few familiar tropes here and there, but this show handled them in a way that felt fresh instead of tired. It felt different. It felt intentional. It felt refreshing.

I also loved learning about ancient tea growing and the families behind that business. That whole world was so interesting and added so much depth to the story. And the twists? There were so many moments where I was like, oh shucks, here we go again. I was watching every episode on pins and needles, waiting for the next one to drop.

If you had to watch this day-to-day, you know the struggle. And if you get to binge the whole thing without waiting, I am honestly jealous. You are in for such a treat.

There has to be a Season 2. There just has to be! There are way too many stories left to tell. And yes, we need a wedding and babies from the male lead and female lead. Period.

This drama gave us a satisfying ending that matched the journey.

I loved this drama. Loved it, loved it, loved it.

Rating:
10s across the board.
10s. 10s. 10s. 10s. 10s.
All the 10s.

I highly recommend Glory. This is already a serious contender for best drama of 2026 on my drama list!
Just outstanding.

An interesting plot & heart-warming romance make it worth watching.

📌 Plot : 8.5/10. For me to finish this drama in just a week means that the story was to my liking. The plot in the first 36 episodes: 9/10, but the last 4 episodes: 6/10 at best. However, I enjoyed most parts of the story; it was interesting with the right pacing most of the time. Sure, the story had its slow moments—episodes 17-19—that can't be avoided in a 40-episode drama. Okay, let me talk about the problematic last 4 episodes. The plot starts to become underwhelming in these last revelation episodes, which started from episode 33, but to me, it truly went downhill from episode 37 to the end. With many unnecessary deaths, Bing Zhu suddenly became an annoying evil character, the romance became dull & less enjoyable, and I liked Hong Ye less and less in these episodes—while I understand why he did what he did, it is still a fact that he used Xiao Yao for his selfish reason. Instead of making me more fond and understanding of Hong Ye and Xiao Yao's course of action, it just made me feel annoyed at both of them. The ending, although it is slightly better than the ending of the last drama I watched, TRoDH, is the same annoying type of ending. I hate when the main character pulls a self-sacrifice act, like, can't you think of a better option than that? So uncreative and lame.

📌 Acting & Character : 8.5/10. TUS was my fourth completed drama of Neo Hou. Tbh, I liked his character here more than in LiTC. Fr, the man is looking so divine here. For the whole 36 episodes—I will just forget episodes 37-40 ever existed—, I fell in love with Hong Ye again and again. He was the embodiment of a green flag ML. I liked his calmness, gentleness & attentiveness towards Xiao Yao. I loved the way he treats her, knows when to say sorry, is honest when times need him to be, & is not afraid to show his flaws. In short, I liked everything about him. Meanwhile, this is my first drama of Tan Song Yun; I enjoyed her acting & character here. While Hong Ye loves quietly, she loves loudly. Other supporting characters did well too. I enjoyed watching Xiao Mu and Xiao Ming's synergy with Hong Ye. The actor who played them as two characters in one body was brilliant, really. Aside from Hong Ye, I can't take my eyes off Bing Zhu in the first 20 episodes. Pity, he was an interesting character until he was not. I also enjoyed watching 3 ancient demons with their antics: Teng She, Qiong Qi, and Ao Hen.

📌 Chemistry & Romance : 9/10. To describe the romance here: Sweet, heart-warming, mature, healthy & not spicy. Our couple not just shares joyful feelings; they communicate all their worries as well. Conflicts in their relationship do not get dragged out, as they will be resolved right away. Hence, this drama has almost zero angsty level. One thing that disappoints me was the G-rated kissing scenes. Just touch on the lip, and done lol.

📌 OST, Cinematography,Costume: 9/10. The cinematography & visual was up to par. I loved Hong Ye's costumes the most. Xiao Yao is so pretty in her Azure Dragon looks, with white hair and outfit. The OST was great too. I enjoyed listening to a few of them, newly added to my Spotify playlist.  My favorites: Afraid It's Only A Dream by Neo Hou, From Now On by Tan Song Yun, Cinders by Jing Long, and Mirror by Duan Aojuan.

In conclusion, 8.5 rating I gave for this drama mainly because of its first 36 episodes. I might rate this as high as 9/10, if the last episodes did not happened. Despite the letdown ending, TUS was worth watching for the interesting plot, heart-warming romance, Neo Hou & other things I mentioned.

Funniest drama i have seen

I am not a fan of the usual comedy's, but this is the kind of comedy i really like. I had so much fun watching this drama, it was hilarious! The moodswings of Thee, the over the top things he did, the funny sounds weren't too much and placed just to perfection. The cheesy drama lines were just soo funny!
And how Peach stayed true to himself and wasn't intimidated by all this was just the best!

I liked the story, the son of a mafiaboss that doesn't want anything to do with mafia, and the restrictions to love, just to keep him safe. But as most of the time, love wins in the long run. He is the cutest mafia boss heir ever!

The visuals are stunning, the music very good.
The acting was also great, i love all three couples, they all have great chemistry.
The kisses of PondPuwin aren't the best, but i am not mad at it because their dynamics and chemistry are great.

Definatly a must watch! I am sure i will watch this one again in the future.

More than just a drama

I came across this drama and decided to watch it as I needed a break from all the crime thriller dramas I was watching.
I made me appreciate the little things a little more as it took me through different perspectives of different individuals.
You don't need a medical degree to understand this as it is informative in a fun way so learn many different information about the journey of pregnancy.
The characters you really bond with them as they are pillars of pregnancies that doesn't always go to plans as pregnancy can never be completely planned out.

“Reasons for dropping this”

Dropped it at episode 32, yea the ML is bad for betraying her trust, but I don’t blame him one bit for killing the grandfather and his lawless warriors, and after they went to the ML kingdom the writing went downhill and repetitive 🤮
1. the FL character became irritating for the amount of trouble she cause at every scene she’s in.
2. the ML disgusts me because he was fine with throwing his childhood lover harms way to protect the irresponsible FL.
3. The Master is worse because he’s judging the ML when he caused the same damage
The FL sneak out almost every night to drink it’s quite crazy for a teenage girl, Master casually going into a married woman’s room at night is disturbing, it’s supposed to be a emotional wreck, but after episode 9 I became annoyed by almost all the FL decisions, she Lowkey killed more people killed with her foolishness

Opposite of “All’s well that ends well”

Is it just me, or did everyone fail to understand the last three episodes? Because honestly, what was that?

Let’s start from the beginning.

I started watching this as a time-pass, already knowing that many short Chinese dramas aren’t very well made—abrupt cuts, rushed scenes, random endings, and all that. At least this drama had less of those issues compared to others, so I gave it a chance.

This drama is looked like the spin-off of "What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim?", but at least don’t do whatever you want.

The story began like a typical secretary–boss drama. Fine. But then came the confession—completely abrupt. Here he didn’t just hesitate or joke; he firmly said no. Then suddenly, when his brother enters the picture, he starts pursuing her?

I can understand that he was trying to protect her or something—but then why say no in the first place? That part never made sense.

Next, his trauma. At first, I thought he had claustrophobia because of the elevator scene. Fair enough. But then that’s not it? Apparently, riding a Ferris wheel is the trauma?
I mean, fine—anything can be traumatic—but then at least explain it properly. Don’t just drop it and move on like it’s obvious.

Now the main issue:

WHAT WAS THE POINT OF THE BREAKUP?

I genuinely did not understand the breakup starting from episode 22.

What I understood was that she said something like:
“I didn’t completely trust you because you have a Plan B. You’re the inheritor of a big company—you can retreat anytime. I don’t have that option.”

Okay—but you already knew all of this. After 21 episodes, now you’re saying you didn’t trust him enough?

Then what was the point of the whole drama?
I’m not a relationship expert, but trust is the first thing in any relationship.

Yes, it’s progressive that he leaves his secretary position, but the situation they created around it is messy and meaningless.

Then comes the sad roaming around. What were they trying to portray here? Emotional growth? Regret? Because it didn’t land.

Then suddenly there’s a time jump—which I didn’t even notice while watching. I only found out from Google (and I’m not even sure that’s correct; maybe it was a subtitle issue). And then—out of nowhere—he proposes?

How did the conflict resolve?
How did she suddenly say yes?
What kind of writing is this?

Just write how the issues were sorted out. Please.

They complicate the situation I mean she is the head of her company and him also a company head or future head which is rival company of her, Fine. Then how the things will play you in future.
But then—ironically—you do resolve that issue at the end, without telling us how.

Just wow.

Look, I’m not saying every drama needs to be deep or extensive. But at least make it well-constructed. Don’t leave massive plot holes and expect the audience to fill them with imagination.

And yes—if anyone genuinely understands why she broke up with him, with a logical explanation, please share. I really want to understand this too.

PS: These are my opinions. Feel free to share yours.
