Only hardcore CP fans could enjoy this.

I remember i watched this drama since Ximen Lichen was like hot-cake at that time. But turns out i don't like this drama. The plot was too cold for my liking.

Basically this drama didn't character depth that i really want. ML was obsessive but he lack emotional feeling beside kissing FL. FL was never showing her love or fight for ML or herself and just being submissive.

This drama selling point was Bai Xinyi-Zhu Yiwei CP only, there is nothing to offer beside that.

Creepy, Engaging, and (Almost) Brilliant

To be honest, this drama really surprised me, especially the horror aspects. It was truly creepy and dark and the production team was clearly not afraid to make the atmosphere unsettling and gory during the horror parts, which I really appreciate. The mystery was really interesting and most of the plot twists were quite good as well.

PROS
1. Really good horror effects (very dark, creepy, and disgusting) - This show is what I would call a true horror, at least for me.
2. Engaging mystery with fairly good plot twists
3. Pretty good character development, especially for King, Singha, and Thup
4. It had a strong horror atmosphere when needed. The horror aspects never fizzled out.
5. Amazing intro and OST - really matched the overall tone of the drama.
6. Fantastic Acting - Especially by the villains. Their performance was genuinely creepy and scary as hell.

CONS
1. EPS 12 and 13 - The last two episodes felt like they were written and directed by someone else. There was so many plot-holes in these two episodes and all of the characters became really dumb all of the sudden. I could not grasp the complete change in the characters (felt very OOC). I was willingly to ignore logic for the most part, considering this a BL and it still is a pretty new genre to the BL industry, but episodes 12 and 13 really pushed it too far.

2. The Second Couple - Honestly, the second couple was severely underutilized. They clearly had complex and interesting history, which was barely explored at all. This made to quite difficult for me to understand why they were behaving the way they did initially. It really was a missed opportunity to develop Darin and Sey’s relationship more deeply and make us empathize with them.

3. Once again, really weird cops. Like.. Idk if this is some kinda running joke in Thailand, but the cops were hella weird in this lol. Touching important evidence with bare hands ✅ Bringing your suspect/ex-suspect/witness to all the crime scenes ✅ Bringing a potential suspect to live with you in your house (where he could potentially kill you)✅. It does get quite ridiculous at some points, but if you're willing to ignore some of the logic, this drama will be more enjoyable ngl.

OVERALL, despite the messy last two episodes, GBYFD really gives you a strong and solid horror with an atmosphere that sets it apart from a lot of BLs. The flaws are pretty obvious, especially in the final episodes, but they don’t completely erase how good the show was at its peak, which is why it still earns a 9/10 from me. I would defo recommend giving it a try!

Comfy watch

- The FL is so cheerful and charming. Its refreshing to see a FL who doesn’t get awkward and flustered around the guy she likes.

- He fell first. Quite early in the story too. I love it when the ML is just a little more in love than the FL.

- The female friendships here are so healthy. They share their thoughts, but also take time to listen. Also, the two girls liking the same guy, but are not out to sabotage each other and are talking it through is such a good showcase of maturity. It rarely happens in dramas so I appreciate how this was approached.

- The conflict was so shallow. Her biggest secret is she lost weight and had an insane glow up. Big deal.

- She directly told her boyfriend that Black is ranked ahead of him. So parasocial omg girl.

Top-notch romance drama with great chemistry

Love Between Lines is a superbly well-written, quality TV that combines romance, family drama, and suspense in a way where it’s just the right amount of everything and you want to keep watching even when you have to get up for work at the crack of dawn.

Our main characters Xiao Zhi Yu and Hu Xiu meet during a murder mystery game. Then their lives intersect in reality. As they navigate their roles in the game, they also begin to uncover each other’s true selves in reality.

This part I absolutely adored—how the story masterfully intertwines their fictional interactions with their real-life encounters. Whoever wrote the dialogues between Xiao Zhi Yu and Hu Xiu is a genius. The fact that they could tell each other some things and could be what they wanted to be in the game when they couldn’t in reality was a very nicely set parallel.

You really feel for both characters as you watch the drama because they both have so much to overcome and deal with in their lives. Xiao Zhi Yu has been living his entire live pretty much as someone else. And Hu Xiu couldn’t do what she always wanted to do and things finally are starting to change when they meet each other.

You also know early on—as you witness them falling in love—about the revelation of how they are actually sort of connected through past events. You know it’s going to ruin them when you find out, but you keep on watching anyway through all your anxiety because their interactions are just so swoony.

Thankfully, the hated third act break up did not last long.

The best part is that the romance between the leads is very well executed.

It’s a healthy, mature kind of relationship you’d want for yourself. It has none of that nonsense about purity you sometimes see in a C-Drama where women are often portrayed like they’re just sitting and waiting for that one guy. I liked that writers left it up to our imagination in terms of their previous partners/relationships, if they had any. Sometimes when romance culminates writers like to show women in their 20s as very inexperienced, which is extremely unrealistic. The silly “shy the morning after” moments absolutely drive me nuts.

So I enjoyed the fact that here this was presented to us. We just had two people in love going with the flow and simply enjoying being with each other without being prude about it. Who and what came before did not matter.

Other aspect I appreciated in the romance was how Xiao Zhi Yu recognized Hu Xiu's talent and genuinely supported her, allowing her to shine in her own right. This dynamic added depth to their relationship and showcased a refreshing take on C-Drama romance. Yes, they in general had a bumpy beginning with him being that typical grumpy male lead that felt almost red-flag-ish but that never came to fruition. And I’m happy. There were some hurdles to overcome, his initial rejection of her, to be exact, but I liked that it didn’t take long for things to get resolved. I liked that they both fought and won their personal battles along the way too. I like that she was also assertive of what she wanted.

Oh, and I have to mention that Love Between Lines features one of the best on-screen first kiss setups. I literally squealed and had to rewatch that scene twice! It was very well done. The music, the moment, the emotions, the entire leading up to it, the background, the colors, the camera angles.

It’s also worth mentioning that the backdrop of the architecture business and the competitive spirit that surrounded it was very interesting and added another layer to the drama. I don’t always like the business aspects added to romance, but when they are well done, they end up being quite entertaining and interesting.

All the side characters were wonderfully developed (especially Pei Zhen; he had a great character arc and I’m glad to see he didn’t follow his father’s path) and had their right place in the story. The camera work was amazing, especially during the game scenes. The whole sequence was just so dreamy.

We also did not have any non-essential characters getting a bunch of screen time for no reason just to make sure there’s content. Every scene was important and easy to watch and I did not skip much except for maybe some of the scenes between Zhao Xiao Rou and her husband. I think too many episodes were wasted on their storyline just to set up the divorce, and if the plan was to pair her up with Gong Huai Cong, it felt kinda incomplete because we were sort of left hanging at the end. I would love a bit of a closure for her or perhaps a scene where she meets her ex later down the road and it’s clear that she has someone else (someone better) just to rub it into his face because he did her so dirty. But it’s not something that’s going to affect my rating.

It’s still a 10 out of 10 for me. If you want good romance, watch it. Definitely MY top 10 contemporary romance C-dramas.

Age Gap Slow Burn Love Story That Feels Soft Yet Underwhelming

The constant back and forth between different years felt a bit too frequent for my liking, even though I appreciated that the drama always made it clear when a time jump happened. I usually enjoy stories where the leads separate and reunite with new perspectives, but in Sniper Butterfly this concept did not fully land for me. Their chemistry was decent but not outstanding, and the plot itself lacked enough excitement to keep me fully engaged. A few moments were cute, but toward the final episodes I found myself skipping scenes because nothing truly pulled me in.

What worked better for me was the female lead’s strength and composure. Her emotional journey felt realistic and easy to connect with. The male lead is warm and supportive, and their relationship develops slowly without feeling forced. Instead of loud romance, it leans into understanding, respect, and quiet affection, which gives their bond a gentle sincerity. The overall pacing is calm and the atmosphere soothing, and the acting feels natural rather than exaggerated.

That said, the drama loses momentum after the breakup. Once the leads separate, the story becomes overloaded with work scenes and very little emotional interaction. Even after they reunite, the plot feels empty, with episode after episode focusing on business instead of relationship growth. Ironically, the side couple became more interesting to watch. The girl chasing the guy in a sweet, non-cringey way and the soft tsundere male made their romance more engaging than the main one.

The younger man and older woman setup also felt overdone and not particularly fresh. The second male lead, however, was surprisingly mature and respectful. He never forced his feelings onto the FL and accepted her relationship with the ML with grace. Even with some jealousy and banter, he stayed supportive, which made him one of the more pleasant characters in the drama.

The ML clearly has flaws such as social anxiety, communication problems, and overconfidence, but the FL rarely falters. The only time she truly felt human was during her divorce, when she desperately tried to hold onto a broken marriage. After that, she becomes almost too ideal, always understanding, always composed, always doing the right thing, which removes some emotional balance between the leads.

Visually, some choices also distracted me. The FL’s wardrobe barely changes between past and present except for a haircut, and the constant short skirts in a corporate setting felt unrealistic, especially when no other women dressed the same way. Even the ML sometimes looked like he was wearing clothes from the past timeline in the present.

Lastly, the ML’s mental health was glossed over too lightly. Instead of simply pushing him forward, the story could have explored real psychological help. I actually appreciated when the SML suggested therapy, and I wish the drama had gone deeper into that instead of focusing so heavily on business in the later episodes.

Overall, Sniper Butterfly is an okay watch but nothing particularly special. If you are not deeply invested in the romance, there is very little to keep you hooked, especially once the story shifts into repetitive workplace scenes instead of emotional development.

Cute coming of age drama

This story needs to be set apart from other reborn, school days, coming of age dramas.
The story is well pace, but allows amazing character growth you feel the conflict and the feelings of hurt and happiness of those last teen years. Both actors do an amazing job telling the story.
I ended crying like a baby at the end, sometimes love can carry throughout different life's.

Time waits for no one ... especially in love

I had put this off for a while, glad I was able to watch it. Even though I didn't know what to expect, I was surprised and engaged for the whole series.
The story is such an apt one about the presumptions we can have about time, especially time we have with those we love.
A swordsman and his responsibilities, a female doctor with a selfless drive fall in love amidst snow and wine.
The lead actors carried this love story well and allow the viewers to feel their longing and heartbreak. Even the supporting characters were well portrayed. The series is not perfect with some plot holes, but overall quite enjoyable.

A solid 6.5

This series doesn't really offer anything new. Your run of the mill drama where you have a typical enemies to lovers trope.

What I did enjoy was the emperor being capable and ruthless when the writers allowed it. The FL was touch and go there, one min she's standing up for herself, the next, she's trembling in fear, but ultimately she was more tough than talk, so that was cool.

The villains were also typical,so don't expect too much intricate plotting on their end. Bull in China shop is how they did it which can bring it's own brand of cheesy chaos to enjoy.

The ending wasn't expected and its also unsatisfying but also a HEA? Without explanation. I think the writers gave up in the last 2 eps.

I wouldn't watch in it again, but I don't regret watching it once. If that helps you decide.

ONE OF THE BEST IN THE UNIVERSITY SERIES

THE CHEMISTRY WAS CHEMISTRYING>>>>
at first it was a bit cringe (dialogues), but tbh that is Luna's character and she tends to be very expressive. The tension between them throughout the series 10/10. AND the storybuilding was not bad at all, the transition from the past to the future was flawless.
Highly recommend.

As long as you turn around, I am always there!!!

Reborn, is a message oriented, highly emotional family drama, which definitely leaves an impact on you, imho.
It comes with a simple yet most complex plot line told through the suffering of a family, especially through our protagonist , Qiao Qing Yu and her family, whose lives turn upside down after the death of her sister, Qiao Bei Yu.
It showcases the predujuces she abd her family face due to her sister's death, the emotional trauma each of them carries, that has been buried in their hearts, the ugly side of familial relations and many other issues that everyone of us can relate to in our real life.
It showcases the bond between parents and children, choosing between society and relatives and our children, and how sometimes, everything the children need is only a simple line from their parents-"I am there and will always be with you ", that really makes a huge differene in the lives of children.
Anyways, the plot is about how Qiao Qing Yu, the female lead brings justice to her sister, who wasn't stopped judging by the society even after death and how she overcomes all these emotional struggles and leads her family to a joyuos home, is all what this drama is about.
I really liked the way, the story proceeds very realistically.
The female lead, Qiao Qing Yu, played by Zhang Jingyi, is perhaps the most serious female character, I have ever watched. She is firm, determined, confident, stubborn, strong, who stands up for her sister, to bring justice for her. She, though being impulsive, in the beginning, definitely grows to be a mature young girl. She is not the typical female lead that we often see, but under her silence, you can see how powerful she is enduring everything, yet trying to stand up for what she believes. She is fearless, bold and brave.
Zhang Jingyi, really surprised me with her STUNNING, OUTSTANDING performance. She carried the whole show excellently. An excellent, fabulous acting from her💯👍👏
Now coming to Ming Sheng, he is my favourite character in this drama, the male lead, brings out the smile in our Qing Yu, always supports her unconditionally, was the only one who was there for her in her loneliest and toughest times of her life, always finds her, helps her and clears the obstacles in her life.
Zhou yiran, as I said, is an excellent actor and this is another work of him that exactly highlights his excellent acting skills👍👌
Liu Dan, the actress who played her mother, deserves a special applause for her outstanding performance as a mother, who lost one daughter, trying to protect another daughter, undergoing depression, supporting family,a heavy burden deeply buried in her heart and yet under trauma, that sometimes makes Qing yu suffer.
The music was excellent with lyrics carrying powerful messages.
The production, photography, every thing were perfect.
What I like the most in this drama, is the underlying beautiful Love story between the leads. I liked how she can be what she is, in the presence of Ming Sheng. He has been the only person who supported her both emotionally, physically and also, personally and professionally. He was always there for her, her "LIGHTHOUSE".
I liked the idea of how the director and the writers have showed us the unconditional support and love of Ming Shen to Qing Yu through the "legend of lighthouse".
"Some of my fave lines are-
Ming Sheng to Qing yu-As long as you turn around, I will always be there.
Qing Yu-No matter how many roads i went, they all led to you. "
So for me, the LOVE STORY, really took an extra point over the rest of the series, though its limited screen time is the only downside for me.
Overall a beautiful ,emotional , story of Qing Yu, who afterall what she went through, found her LIGHTHOUSE, her third wish that had come true😊😍.
A HIGHLY RECOMMENDED MUST WATCH CHINESE DRAMA for me.

Surprising

Seeing Pond and Dew in such different roles was very interesting, but seeing Gun as an autistic young man - after watching him in Burnout Syndrome - was outstanding! He *became* that character! I like him in Burnout, but I loved him in Leap Day!
The story was a little confusing at times, but once you suspend reality enough, you can immerse yourself in the story.
Pond was his usual brilliant self, and Dew played the arrogant, yet tender other Leap Day victim, very well.
Pahn played Dew's girlfriend so well, that I forgot that I'd Dew as a gay man in Burnout. She had depth that wasn't
apparent at first, but she changed and became a nurturer, as opposed to a clingy girl.
I hated the ending, but I guess you can't have a happy ending every time.

A breeze is all you get

The story sets up a good premise, but it doesn't delve deep enough into exploring some of the elements of the plot. For example, the insomnia, I would have loved to see a more in-depth look at their school history, and the misunderstanding was sort of dragged out for no reason. So, I could sometimes feel myself not as engaged in watching.

It focuses mainly on the two main characters, which I enjoyed, and switches between the past and the present. Some other comments stated this was confusing; I didn't have that problem, as you can tell by whether they are wearing their uniform or not.

The production and acting were good overall. It was a cute and enjoyable watch, but I don't think it is a must-see.

Good Drama, but Dragged Near the End

I enjoyed this drama, but I didn’t love it. It started extremely strong, yet felt essentially complete by episode 16 and dragged through the remaining episodes.

Overall, I was fully immersed in the costume sequences, and the narrative was comedic, engaging, and filled with surprising subplots. The multiple twists were unexpected and kept me invested throughout. I would recommend this drama with one caveat: the final episodes may feel underwhelming, at least they did for me. But I do know people who loved the entire experience.
